Oh man does this type of thread not look familiar. JC has proven to be a great team who is filled with boys who play their hearts out. Keep doubting them, I think they like that. They've been underestimated and have surprised a lot of people, they may just have 3 surprises left.

Jackson County was extrememly off yesterday, to say the least and put it nicely...lol I was so mad sittin up in those stands, wanted to yell at one lil player in particular but I knew she wouldn't be able to hear me in that big gym...lol They have 4 players that usually average double-digits and several more perfectly capable of it. They better get it together like we all know they can. These girls can do it!

If this was really said then I sincerely apologize. The people I know and who are constant supports of JC wouldn't say something like this. But like I said, if it was then I apologize on behalf of everyone here at JC. Our boys played a wonderful game and no one can say that they didn't earn it, so give some credit where it is due. CSAS played great too and they have a lot of talent on their team. Keep making us proud JC boys, we are all behind you 110% and we all know that you deserve to be going to the STATE TOURNAMENT!!!

It wasn't a blowout from the beginning. I was very nervous there for a lil while. The quick fouls that our girls got, were most definitely fouls. The refs were very consistant. They called the same from start to finish. They let the girls know early as to how aggressive they could play or couldn't play.

There are several small schools and several large schools. Misti will have her choice if she decides to play...this I know for a fact. She is planning on becoming a pharmacist so that has a large weight on where she decides to go. And bob77, thank you very much for your posts. I couldn't be more proud of Misti.

These boys have accomplished more than anyone thought they would this year. They surprised Pickett Co. and they might just surprise you too. I'm sure those teams are great, but games this time of year have to be taken one at a time so don't just overlook JC. Also, does the gym at E. 3rd St. not have 10 ft. goals? Or is the floor concrete? Why wouldn't they want to play there? A gym is a gym. They have proven that they do not get intimidated. Gatorbill, I absolutely love the tailfeathers comment /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> That had me rollin'. And I agree, their are a lot of people in the stands that know a lot about basketball and usually those are the ones that aren't yelling those commical sayings to the ref. If I yell, then something is definitely wrong with the way a game is being called. I have yelled maybe 3 times this entire year, at a ref that is...I yell at poor lil sis all the time and luckily she ignores me...lol. I'm not saying that I know all, I've never been a ref...don't wanna be a ref...wouldn't look good in those pants...but I do know basketball and I KNOW the charging calls were wrong BOTH ways. Those calls, to me, cannot be justified in any way.

I understand that a defensive player can be moving, I didn't word everything the way I needed to. A lot of the time the girls playing offense are more guilty of pushing off than the girls on defense. It was consistant and the girls had to adjust, I just still don't exactly understand why they called it that way because when she went up in the air they ran under her and she came down on them. Well, what goes up must come down and that wasn't her fault coming down on them. Whistleblower-- You are clearly a referee so I have a question. I'm not trying to give you a hard time or anything, I'm just wanting to know what standards ya'll are taught to go by. When a player is driving in and pulls up for a jumpshot and the defensive player gets up underneath her and doesn't allow room for her to come down without making contact with her...is that a charge? That was called numerous times both ways. I thought that a charge was a player control foul. When a player pulls up for a jumpshot at the freethrow line and is going straight up and straight down, she is clearly not out of control. I also thought that the defensive player had to be completely still and wait for the offensive player to initate contact? I played for several years and then coached and I have never seen a game with so many charges like this called, and I'm talkin 10 or so called. Other than this, they did the best they could. I'm just trying to understand why these were called. Can you help me out?

All I have to say is WOW. Last night when I was told that the boys one I about went into shock. I underestimated them and apparently so did many others. Way to go guys that's awesome! I sure won't miss the Championship game!
