  1. Any word on where players from this region/district are going to continue their playing days in college?
  2. According to the Tennessean, it is to pursue his dream of coaching college. Wow...old region 6-5A is going to look a little different as District 11-AAA next season. All the best to Coach Rector and his family in this new direction.
  3. Word is that Coach Rector resigned from Ravenwood. Wow! Kind of a shocker. Who do they look to for a new coach? Anyone on staff or do they go elsewhere?
  4. The thought crossed my mind that TN has some former HS players that are playing in bowl games this year. I was wondering if anyone out there could list there former players that are currently in bowl games this year? Interesting to see how well represented TN is in the BCS. Whether we despise the Bowl system or not, it is fun to watch some of these games just to see the home grown TN talent. Have a great Christmas and Happy New Year. Independence: Scott Pettigrew - LB @ Buffalo - International Bowl Isaac Baugh - RS CB @ Buffalo - International Bowl.
  5. The Line on Pettigrew from his Freshmen season: |--------Tackles--------| |-Sacks-| |---Pass Def---| |-Fumbles-| Blkd DEFENSIVE LEADERS GP Solo Ast Total TFL/Yds No-Yds Int-Yds BrUp QBH Rcv-Yds FF Kick Saf ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 33 PETTIGREW, Scot 13 19 22 41 2.0-17 . . . 1 . . . . That is 13 games played, 19 Solos, 22 Assists, 41 total, 2 TFL for 17 yards, and 1 QB Hurry As for Indy in '09, still a little early to get a feel for this team. QB -set with Heckman. His Backup will probably be the Freshman QB from this year's Freshman team. RB - Unknowns and unproven. Big question mark going into the off season and spring time. WR - Brandon Boatman, Ty Stannard, Bryce Steyer are all top candidates. Ty could line up in the backfield as well, especially if the upcoming Freshman running backs are just too young to play varsity. OL - two seniors on next year's team. The rest will be juniors. They look to be big on size. See if they can mold together and become a solid unit. Defense overall is a total unknown. Loss of a Thomas Berry may be difficult to replace. Some of the OL will have to start on DL as well. LBs - position that were weak in this year still has ? marks. Secondary should be strong. There seems to be a lot of guys having to go both ways and some never come off the field because they play on all the Special teams too. That could be a stumbling block or it could make this team strong. Not 100% sure. I know that I will be cheering them on no matter what. To Coach Eubanks and staff and players, this fan wishes you all the best this coming '09 season. Indy will be fine in '09!! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  6. Indy All Region players: Alex Heckman (2x) - Jr. Jonathan Norman - Sr. Thomas Berry (2x) - Sr. Ty Stannard - Jr.
  7. CHS at Gallatin - Rd 1 Very good match up. Two teams with a ton of talent and apparently speed on both teams. I have not seen Gallatin this year, but I have seen Centennial a couple of times this year and they do have SPEED! Not sure if Gallatin knows what is about to hit them. Last year, Gallatin was very young and faced another potent team in Independence. My Indy boys ran them off the field by half time. Thing is, CHS team is a ton faster than last year's Indy team. As for coaching, Coach M at CHS will have his boys fired up and ready. I'm sure the same can be said of Coach Lassiter at Gallatin. I may have to make the trip out that way to see this one. Since my boys are getting ready for '09, sadly, I will be cheering on all of our county's teams this week and throughout the playoffs. Strange that the last year of Region 6-5A, that all the teams are from Williamson County. Going to look strange next year with the new regions and splits between the levels. All the best to these two teams...wish for a good game and all to be injury free. Prediction: CHS 27 GHS 20
  8. tnsparty you are absolutely correct. Don't overlook Dickson County and Centennial will win. I see Centennial winning this one 34 - 10.
  9. And Nick Scored a Touchdown off a screen pass from Heckman for the Eagles first touchdown of the night. Kind of ironic in a way. No matter, the Indy Nation is proud of the come from behind win and looking forward to homecoming game next week against an apparently much improved Clarksville NE team.
  10. Uh Ohh, Uh ohh...Indy Won!! Uh ohh, Defense Stops run. Uh ohh....Here comes my Indy boys! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  11. Independence vs. Wilson Central at IHS start time around 6pm.
  12. What are you saying???? /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> Are you Smith's mommy??? /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> I'm sure that all of Indy nation would love to know that Smith's mommy gets on here and brags about HER son and try to stir up controversy, where there should be NONE!!! Nick is a good player and person. But his throwing motion and decison making is not as strong as Alex.
  13. FTT2, You are so Brutual....but so honest as well. Clarksville NE keep striving to get better and see what happens. IF you are as good as you think, then come Week 6 you will find out. As my Indy boys play host to you. Unfortunately, that will probably be the Homecoming game as well. Those young Indy boys may be a little out of focus because of the festivities from that day. Still, they will show you why they are the defending region champion. FTT2 was right, worry about beating the other teams that are in the bottom of the region first. Then concentrate on taking on the big teams. Go INDY!!
  14. Seriously, I feel for the players that are left there and having to deal with this whole mess. What a better situation than to do what football players do the best when the odds are against you, fight together to be better. Do what no one expects you to be able to accomplish. Win games because you all want to. Whatever, coach comes along to help guide and teach you...respond positively and enjoy your lives in HS. Make the best out of a bad situation. Someone said to run to another school, the city is the worst in America to live in (who cares), you are in the situation you are in, make the best of it that you can. Not everyone can afford to run away from their problems. In life that does not solve a thing. What does that teach these students? Face them head on and overcome them. All the best to the Clarksvill NE football players. I feel for you, except when my Indy boys play ya. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  15. He must have read all these posting on CoachT and was scared away. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  16. Anyone going to post the results from the state meets here on CoachT? I saw where Baseball, softball, soccer, etc were posted. But, nothing for Track and Field.
  17. Is it going to be a scrimmage or a boxing match? HA! This would be fun to go see. I'm sure both coaches have reminded their players they are not to cause any type of fights. Just the normal fight that is the game of football. Good luck to both teams. Wish I could be there to see it, have to work tonight. Go Eagles!
  18. Would all the teams in Region 6-5A just get an automatic win? Wait a minute...that already happens. Never mind. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  19. Thank you Overseascoach for the support. There is good community support overall. One that this fan is very proud to be a part of. Yes, these players play from hard from kickoff to the final buzzer on the clock. Yes, they do love the game for what it is and play for pride in school and their self. Yes, maybe with the hope of continuing it beyond HS added to their desire. From what I've seen the coaches do play the best players on friday night. They do make tough decisions that apparently hurt the feelings of some. Is that not what coaches are to do. Make the tough calls. Tnsparty...all the best to you and your family. Thank you for your support over the past four years. It will be missed. I hope your son has great success at Campbellsville.
  20. Doc, Tennessean is set to release their "Dream Team" Top 25 listing on Christmas Day. http://tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/articl...IDEO02/71218322 The link will take you to a vid blog of how the top 25 players were put together.
  21. In the past, it was released around Christmas time. Kind of an extra Christmas gift for these players.
  22. All I heard was those from Independence. All Region 6-5A MVP: Ryan Consiglio All Region 6-5A Def Linemen: Nate Stout All Region 6-5A Kicker: Jeff Veres All Region 6-5A Independence: Scott Pettigrew Isaac Baugh Rodney Coffey Brett Johnson Terone Shepherd Alex Heckman Thomas Berry /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> Way to Eagles!
  23. For those who may say that either of these teams did not deserve to be there; are they same ones who scream for a playoff in college or are the pure fans of bowl system? Well, TN HS football has a playoff system and the TWO best teams were there Saturday night. I'm proud of my Indy boys! Yes, we started out flat and made way too many mental mistakes, but we had a great year. One to be proud of for sure. All that any other senior class can do to out do this one, is win the state championship. A high level for every class from here on out to live up to. GO Eagles!!
  24. Independence's Kathy Kroeger finishes 2nd at the National invitational in San Diego. She is a machine when it comes to running. To come back from injury and find herself back in the national race, she is truly an awesome athlete. I would venture to say she is the TOP athlete in the state of Tennessee. Congrats Kathy on an awesome performance. All of Indy Nation is amazed by your athletic prowness. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  25. Millington, hats off to the players, coaches, fans and community. You were an awesome host and provided and electric atmosphere to one of the most exciting HS football games I have witness ever. You could tell that neither team wanted to lose or would give up. Mistakes were made by both teams, but in the end Indy was able to overcome them the most. I'm so excited to see my team moving on to the big time. BTW, thanks for the burgers after the game and the oatmeal cream pies! /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> Go Eagles!!
