  1. Ya'll looked below average in 03 when you got drummed 55-7 by lipscomb . lol.
  2. Truth is..Alcoa has always had the talent but maybe not always the right coach to get it done. You give Rankin to Melrose and they win every year too. Its easy for me to sit back and say .."Well Alcoa allows students out of the school zone to come play". Milan usually always has a good team b/c they we are coached. I mean these schools down here you can go all the way thru the town and maybe stop at two to three redlights. To me High School Football should be your town and your town only. If they aren't going to zone you off then play in the private division. If your from Alcoa you have to understand that. I know majority of your players are home grown kids but if Milan is reeling off 7 straight and we're pulling a few kids from the surrounding area and your playing with kids within a 4 mile diameter, then your going to say something. Alcoa fans, how has Rankin not gotten a college offer?
  3. Goodpasture has two guys over 300. They are massive kids. Don't know if Alcoa will have trouble with them but they are two big guys on that D-line. Goodpasture better start throwing early to stay in the game.
  4. Heard GP's QB averages 120yds pg in the air. Also heard they like to let him run with it also.
  5. Seems like CAK figured out the Maryland I a tad bit. 7-3 Half score im sure put Alcoas side of the field in an uneasy position.
  6. Thats the best Camden team i've ever seen. #75 did just about everything he could do for Camden. I thought for sure when Camden got down there in 4 down territory they were going to punch it in. The fullback was getting 3-4 there on that last drive. Milan's D is young out there but they showed up. Kinda reminded me of the 04 Milan semifinal game with Huntingdon. I don't have a fingernail left on my hand after this one. Hopefully Goodpasture stays in the wing t and will make it easier for Milan to handle seeing that they have faced it from Crockett and Camden. However, I sure wish Milan would establish a running game. On the flip side, defense wins championships and IMO you put your best 11 on defense and whats left over you find a way to score however you can.
  7. Milan looked awful young out there last friday night. That being said, its time to grow up a whole lot friday night when its 34 degrees. Either going to be puppies and curled up in the dog house or going to come out and let the big dawg eat! I wish somebody would spray paint our kickoff guys cleats black with spraypaint..yellow cleats? really? Camo hand warmers around the waist? Go to Hibbetts and get a black one please. PET PEEVES!!! IMO...Yellow cleats and camo don't belong on a Milan football team. Rodney Nance needs a good pep talk from his older brother, Rod Smith.
  8. 14 pt game in 08. 21 pt game in 09. Alocas been whipping maryville. Heard of them? Alcoas the best team in the state and has been. You don't come within 35 of Milan in 2008 or 2009. If Milan moves to 2a they would hang gold more times than not.
  9. congrats Alcoa. congrats Milan. No doubt, the two best defenses in 3A Football, if not the entire state of Tennessee. Milan just couldn't afford to come into the game and turn the ball over. The two down inside the 5 were huge and led to Alcoa gettings 3 yards for two touchdowns. 14-0 and they haven't even had to drive the field yet. Credit Milans defense for holding Alcoa throughout the game, except for the one long drive. Milans offensive line was just too small to open holes for Gilbert. Milans WR did a good job in the passing game. The score indicated, did not mean dominance on any part, except on the defensive side of the ball. Toney is a good back, but runs behind 7 or 8 beasts. Milan forced them to punt several times. Again, great job Alcoa. The most impressive is your front 7. Milan just couldn't afford to win the total yards game, first downs, and then turn over the football. To any Milan fan or Alcoa fan, you can't let some people get on here and post, that don't have a clue about the game of football, and say something non-classy and make you mad. These people are just plain idiotic. I saw one at Applebees last night, and this man was 70-75 years old absolutely bashing Milan, as our eating tables were less than 4 feet apart and his wife had to stop him because she noticed we were just staring at him. Thats not a knock to Alcoa, but a knock to simple fans that don't have a clue. I know there are Milan fans like that as well, as there are everywhere. The kids from Alcoa were classy kids. This wasn't a knock to them, the Alcoa program, or anything of that sort. This was a knock to that man and if hes on here, then he knows exactly who he is. T Rob came in and he was a part of their eating party. The players sounded very nice and classy. We'll see T Rob and Avery W next season in Blue.
  10. I dont even want to get off on this "open zone" talk. Im sure if they were bringing people in from other school zones it would have been brought up by now. Gotta beat the best to be the best. Good Luck Milan. Bring it back home.
  11. Yup open zones is the reason we've been so great for the past 20 years...Just look at these records 1992- 6-5 1994- 5-5 1996- 6-5 1997- 6-6 1999- 6-6 2002- 3-7 Heck yea open zones!!! Making you a .500 team all through the 90s exactly, and in 03 you got pounded...then you reel off 5 straight?? not just winning, dominating really except for the Huntingdon game and the Milan game...3 years goodpasture didn't stand a chance....your telling me there was nobody on Alcoas team in all those years they were horrible that a running back or one standout player couldnt carry the load?..atleast to a semifinal or quarterfinal? then all of a sudden your unbeatable?
  12. "Milan had no offense at all until late in the game, when it looked as if Alcoa was playing the pass and had a 3 man front in the game. Then I think Avery broke 2 runs!!" Milan broke those runs against a 4-3 defense. Alcoa's starters were on the field. It's on Avery Williamson's youtube video. So that is false. Milan is used to running right at their opponents. They try to wear down them by the 4th. Milan's gameplan is very similar or identical to Alcoa's. Difference is, Alcoa's O-Line is way better than Milan's. That is why running the ball last year was unsuccessful. There is not doubt, Milan has the advantage on the outside against Alcoa's corners. They should pass to open up some gaps in the run. Because when space is provided, Gilbert can do very good things.
  13. I only put up the top four rushers for Milan. There were 7 total players with offensive stats.
  14. Refer back to my post earlier about how you pound the rock You did not pound the rock on Milan last year like you did all last season on your opponents. Remember your 4th down half back pass after being thrown down 3 straight times on the goal line? I would say a team that POUNDS THE ROCK would have POUNDED it in? Don't you?? Milan spreads the wealth on offense. Toney was the prime offensive player for Alcoa.
