Any thoughts on this district this season ?

What is going on at Spring Hill ? I for one remember the pride that used to exude from the whole town and it's football team. I realize Spring Hill is a different place, but can't help but think the right person could reignite the community and the team to it's former glory ? I will say, I haven't been on S.H. campus in at least 10 years so I can't speak to talent, facilities, etc... but it just seems strange to me that the program has sunken so low ? Are there any names being floated around ? Are they actively doing anything ? Has Ben Martin's name been mentioned ? He played at S.H. was A.D. and coached at a private school in Nashville, I graduated with his sister saw her the other day and she said he was looking for a job ? I don't know if he is interested or anything about his coaching ? but it would seem to me that a hire of someone with "old school" ties could be beneficial ? Would like to hear some opinions of folks that have been around the program lately, and above all would like to see S.H. return to a legitimate program.

Can someone give an objective explanation for what is going on with SH ? I've heard everything from no talent to no coaching, inadequate feeder system ? It seems to me the time for making excuses has come and gone. The problem is, I remember SH as a "football school" now it seems as it's just an afterthought ? It's great they've hired four new coaches, who are they and whats their background ? And maybe the most important question.... Is there any support from Administration ? or is it a "don't rock the boat" mentality ? With the exception of baseball (excellent coach) and boys basketball, I don't see any promise for SH Athletics at all. just mho

Its not over yet, soucres say there are 2 left, sources can not name them. Has the A.D. @ NCS applied ? I know his family (from Spring Hill) heard he turned down the S.H. job a couple of years ago ? Must love it up there, not to come home.

Word is Jeff Brothers new NCS Coach ?

Well 74, not a good situation at all, I'm sure there are factors we don't know about causing some of these decisions and I would put the blame square on the county's shoulders. ( of course they will blame budget cuts etc...) but the fact remains there is NO emphasis put on athletics. I'm not suggesting it is the most important thing but from my best estimation Maury Co. is not exactly an academic mecca. Not saying they couldn't be but I think athletics can improve academics ( but thats another story for another day) I'm not buying what they're selling. I had the chance to ride by the new SHMS Wow what a facility, built in a terrible location. IMHO...... They should have made the high school the new middle school built another elementary where the new middle school sits and built a new Spring Hill High School with up to date facilities and get this..... Actually in the city of Spring Hill !!!! but what do I know ?

I may be speaking "out of school" here but the best I can remember, the current principal (former ag teacher) busted his butt keeping up the field and was the p.a. announcer for the games. I'D say he's pretty supportive of the "student athlete". You're right, he loves the ag stuff!! I'm not talking about the "ag stuff" (but we both know you know that). I'm talking about caring for kids. ie: student athletes.

What are the folks on the Hill thinking about Scharsh's name being rumored for the Independence job ?

Does Nashville Christian not even have a chance ? Don't know much about them or their district. (my team is 3a) but I know one of their coaches (hometown boy)Is it a coaching thing or player thing ?

I know Ballard from Goodpasture has interviewed.

I noticed from box scores she's avg about 12 per game, but also noticed ncs is 0-5, don't know much about the program up there ? I know her dad (pretty good football player at the "hill") glad to she her doing well, wish we had her here.

I know it's early but are there any rumors of Head coaching vacancies for 09 ?
