  1. No, I don't have a kid on the team, but my kids have played other sports and I've seen first hand what happens when disgruntled parents or fans undermine the coaches. It typically happens when some parent thinks little Johnny isn't playing enough, so rather than tell little Johnny he needs to kick it up a notch (or maybe even let him know that sometimes folks don't recognize your talent and unfairness results - this is a lesson that will help him out for the rest of his life), the parent undermines the coach (and the rest of the team) by badmouthing him to his kid and his kid's teammates. It's nothing more than selfishness masquerading as righteousness. Hey Jabbo, my "little" Johnny as u put it, not playing enough is not the problem, playing too much is. mainly because, there are other kids on the team who arent doing THEIR jobs and my kid has to play their spot and his too. My "little" Johnny has already had several different big schools looking at him, so its not about having fun for him. this is business. its about people on the team doing their job, so he can do his job. all this crap about having "fun", give me a break, do u not know where u live? this is lincon county tn. if u want to have fun playing a sport, go back to middle school, or maybe go play soccer. im all for the guys being together on stuff, and having a good time, but when its time to get out on that field, its business, especially for some of these boys, whos future is on the line, and who depend on the rest of thier team acting as a team. no one, is a bigger falcon fan than i am. and i will continue to support the team and coaches, however, on the other hand, the TEAM aint going to be there, when these kids graduate. I agree Angry. You can love someone or something, but not be accepting of what it is doing. It is sad where there are a few players busting their rearend and since there isn't any discipline, the other players not working hard aren't pulled to allow others a chance. I heard of some of the antics that continously go on. Not kosher when the Coaches lose control of discipline and someone not staying at their "home" and doing their job is a prime example. I think it is sad that these "supporters" choose to ignore all of the talent that walks the halls and fields of our team, place the blame on the kids and not on the lack of coaching enthusiasm. Look at UT. Strict discipline, kids now love to come to practice and the coach keeps them upbeat and going and is really into the game. Sometimes it is the little things that the team needs to help it dig down for that last little bit of extra. UT may not be winning every game, but they are doing a dang site better than last year.
  2. LOL. Are we still into eugenics? Coach Thompson has plenty of talent, it is just isn't being used correctly. When you can sit in the stands and predict plays...that is disturbing. EVERYONE knows every play LCHS uses because there are so few of them. As far as the best 11? Since when? I know of three other boys that were just as good or better than some of the other players that sat the bench because of their "last name". Since I have never sat the bench in a varsity sport, I cannot imagine what it is like to know you aren't going to play due to some stupid reason of popularity or favoritism. We had a backup quarterback that could throw circles around our starter a few years ago, but he wasn't the chosen pick, so he sat. That isn't the best 11.
  3. Since several boys quit this year, you have no idea who I am talking about. Those were things that was told to him by Coach. My son was always a hard player and always pushed himself. He was harder on himself than the coaches were. I guess that is why another school system said they would play him as a starter. However, he loves his high school and elected to stay where he is at, working towards his college next year. He isn't the only one left out to dry either when it comes time to play. Why do you think we have no experience? Because the kids don't try? No, because they aren't allowed to play unless 1 of 2 things happen. 1. You have the right last name and 2. are an upperclassman.
  4. Yeah, there seems to be more anti-Falcon Football folks this year - by the time we all turn anti-Falcon the team will be assured of going 0-10 every year. What a day that will be. I am not anti-anything. So don't you dare put words in my mouth. I just feel and know that our kids deserve better. A team that walks out on the field like a bunch of old men is a team that just can't win because there isn't any motivation in them.
  5. I had one of those sons who name wasn't popular as well. He worked his butt off at every practice and did whatever he was told. He was told by Coach T that he was a leader because he worked hard, never quit and gave the other players someone to look up to. He also said this to my son...you worked hard, never quit - KNOWING you will NEVER play. How disheartening for a big strong boy who worked his butt off for three years already to know that he will NEVER PLAY. And to beat all, he was invited to play at another school!! That is a problem with the team. Too much politics, too little actual caring about the kids. Like someone said earlier...I would rather have 11 kids who play their heart out, then 11 kids who just play. By the way, he no longer plays. He finally was tired of the bull crap that goes on, busting his rearend, EVERY day, during the summer, etc., to never have anything to show for it. Lincoln County is its own worst enemy when it comes to football. Jaboo...where are all of your supporters this year? Guess what I was saying last year, finally is sinking in.
  6. Well, yes I am always proud of the team. What I said about the coaches was that they accomplished and did what I felt needed to be done to win. They changed things up, the team had spirit and worked together, etc. Same things I have said there. Only say the same things over and over. You need to read back =)
  7. Intensity is different then body slamming your own players during tackeling in practice. To be honest, I was that impressed with WC either. The quarterback was off quite a bit. The special teams were pretty good. Your run defense was ok...but had seen better in our own conference. You have an awesome kicker/fgk. I was very impressed with him. You also have a lot of speed, however, our speed seemed to keep up pretty well. Your backs seemed to cut quicker and your passing defense was pretty good, but we have someone better. I don't feel like we played our best, that is for sure. We had too many hurt and sore from the battering during the week. I think our team was tired and they just weren't at their best because to be honest, if they played you, like they played against Cookeville and Coffee County, the score would have been MUCH closer, if not ending up with us in a slight lead.
  8. It's amazing that when I speak in defense of our team, no one supports me. When I speak positively of our team, no one supports me, but let me say anything not part of the good ole' boys club wants said, and woe be me! I speak the truth, not caring about the good ole boys club. You don't matter to me. LCHS matters to me. The Falcons matter to me. I want what is best for them. I said that if they had spirit (no spirit), if coach changed things up (he did change some things up, be reverted) and if they players could work together (again, look of seperatism among players and arguing). But enough said. The season is over. We have almost 1/2 the team leaving as seniors and several talking about NOT coming back because they are tired of the same ole' same ole'. My son still wants to play and will play. He loves the game.
  9. I really thought that things might be different but when things get tough the coaches fall back to the same ole same ole. Our defense was doing an awesome job until their heads dropped. No spirit on the sidelines. I did see some different plays, but I must say, that several parents are quite disturbed about the fact that they were hitting so hard during practice and several players were hurt during practice this week. Coaches were encouraging the hard hitting during practice. That to me breaks a cardinal rule. Take it out on the other team, not your own players. Kudos to the defense, offense...still needs some serious work. Did fine until the second half when WC made their adjustments, then we were shut down. /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />
  10. Is this coach a good recruiter? Does he walk the halls and pull the tallent that needs to be on the field?
  11. I will say that this is the best coached and played game of the year. The players seemed to really to work together. I saw a greater variety of plays and more spirit and enthusiasm than I have seen all year. Coach T showed he still has it and our players proved others wrong when they said on here there wasn't any talent in LC anymore. Our team and hallways are littered with talent and if Coach T continues to use a larger variety of plays and substitute as he did at the Cookville game, thus showing the depth of his bench, I think LC will be hard to beat in the playoffs. We can't get conservative now, we have to strike and strike hard. Practice harder, draw new plays and as a community, come together in Falcon spirit to root our team on!
  12. Riverdale isn't anything this year...might have been good to face them, but they won't even make the play offs.
  13. Popcorn good? lol.. /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> I am getting ready to eat some steak..want some?
  14. I don't remember you piping up to anyone who was trash talking our boys on the team. A few weeks ago there was a lot of bad talk about the q.b. You kept quiet. So, anyone else can talk but the ones that are not members of the 'good ole boys' club? I have NEVER trashed our boys, have always felt they deserved more, yet you trash for that and not for someone actually naming names and positions and stating they played a crappy game or what not?
  15. lol. Know what you are talking about. Just amused at the lack of maturity that seems to prevail when you start tossing names and assuming unmentioned facts. Let me dumb this down for you, it is funny how immature people can be when they cannot handle an adult conversation.
