Thanks Smoky.... we just ran out of gas! Having 7 starters going both ways and playing as hard as they did last night, they simply wore down before the clock did. We ask for supreme effort and they gave it, there was no quit by this team!! I was very proud of them and wish we could have got the win for them. This group of seniors has brought a since of pride back to Charger football, I will never forget them!!

Hey Coach Barger!! You sound exactly like he did all night. Face it, you folks got hit in the mouth and didn't like it! You took cheap shots at our kicker all night, the interfearence penalty was a tackle to our reciever and talk about no class..... we are playing freshmen and your coach kept the starters in with the game decided!! THEN went for 2!!! Come on.... show some class, that is why our starters went back in. Look at your video and count the holds on both of the late long runs you had and the tell me how bad the refs were... Go back to the valley and regroup and good luck in the playoffs

Punter/kicker Jamin Godfrey is being looked at by several schools. He is a better kicker that punter, field was very soft last night and he was slipping with his plant foot on kickoffs, they usually fly to endzone. He is working on academics now, and yes he has more upside potential than any kicker I have seen in a long while. Very impressed with Alcoa's players, they are very disciplined in assignment football and very unselfish. Great staff and tradition means Championship number 11 is 5 games away! Good luck!

I really hope you Polk fans remember this thread next year when you play the Chargers! Our folks can't hold a candle to these Pirates in good ole fashion trash talking, you just thought we had some top level bucket mouths!! I would love to be on the fence for this one, heck I may just come on down!!

Polk moved up to 3a because other than alcoa, it is relatively weak. Polk moved up where they wouldn't have to play the likes of Boyd, trousdale, and friendship..........that is why. SP may win the state in 2A, but why would they move up when they have 200 kids and they can win a ring for the next 4 years?? SP 42- Polk slugs-13 Hey folks, with the new division and 6 classes, Polk did not move up this year, they are where they should be. Just clearing up a point.

Sorry guys from Sequoyah, but the rain has probably kept the Chiefs in some of the games lately. If the field is half way dry, Loudon will dominate this game.

It should not happen but the few instances I have seen it done around here, the school the ref went to NEVER seemed to get the close call, it always went against the home team.

Here is the unbiased opinion in a nutshell, fast dry field the edge goes to South Pitt. We played Polk and they are the real deal, probably the best team they have had in several years. They are physical and don't tend to make many mistakes. Remember scrimmaging McMinn Central last year? The Chargers came to the pit and played pretty tough. I know it was a scrimmage, but ask Vic and he will tell you it was a dog fight. If both teams play up to their potential, it will be the best game the Valley has seen in a while. Good luck to both teams for an injury free game, heck I may venture down that way for this one!

Yep, you got that right. Kingston will hang around if you let them, they are well coached and have a winning tradition. They are younger this year having lost about 21 seniors off last years team. The Chargers have to come out focussed, last week was not the best effort I have seen this year. Last week's effort will result in a loss or a very close game against Kingston.

Nothing but complimentary for Polk, but Allen is the Captain of that ship. He runs that offense to perfection. All I was saying, after him at QB, the depth is not like the other positions. Not disrespecting the rest ot the team at all, they are the true example of team play and I have great respect for the kids and the staff at Polk. (and please don't include me in "Ya'll", I have always said good things about Jarred!) Allen isnt the only player on this team... I remember last year when yall had nothing good to say bout him... Polk isnt like Tellico and only revolves around one player... How many Carries does O'dell have... Prob twice as many as all the Polk back put together and one of Polks running backs have have well over 700 or so yards and 9 or 10 TDs... I say Polk takes this game just cause the leadership and unselfishness... Polk 40-50 Some where in that range will be the score Purple T 0-14

Well said Tribeguy. Lack of effort in practice, and taking plays off in games should get better athletes some "pinetime". Kids today don't have the same work ethic and it is sad that some of the parents have contributed to this problem. I would love to see this game myself, but got to go to Chargers vs Kingston game. Polk needs this game, starters need to be playing more than a half down the stretch to get used to playing longer in the playoffs. Bears will be ready, but the Wildcats will win going away! Polk defense is too much, and as long as Allen stays healthy, the offense will roll.

Any other year I might agree, BUT, this is the year of the BEARS! I really like what they are doing right now, gotta go with DA Bears in a close one.
