  1. Correction, McMinn Central is between Englewood and Etowah, McMinn Co. (AAAAA) is in Athens. The Chargers are looking forward to playing you folks. There is some history in basketball between us and our fans travel well so it should be a good gate for you when we come your way.
  2. Actually compared to what I have seen of Polk and Central's Schedules, this one is a lot easier than theirs!
  3. Vic Grider, all others are fighting for second place!
  4. Good luck tonight Pirates from your friends at McMinn Central!!
  5. Here is what I heard Central's pickups are: McMinn, Bradley, Walker Valley and Alcoa so far , probably Loudon and still looking for a game in week 10. Yep, definitely an upgrade for both Polk and Central!! I think Coach Davis and Coach Derrick have been hanging out together too much lately!! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  6. Yep on the following suit, Central has added, (from what I heard) McMinn, Bradley, Walker Valley, and ALCOA so far and probably Loudon. Still looking for another in week 10. That will get your attention!! Dist schedule is Polk, Sweetwater, Meigs and Sequoyah. Central and Sequoyah will be AAAA in playoffs.
  7. If you will read my post again I had you guys down for 3 trips in the last 4 years. I haven't forgot that string of losses we suffered through!! LOL, I don't know about the rest of you folks but we WERE that bad for a good while.
  8. Sorry I thought they were in the 2007 playoffs. Who besides Central, Howard and Polk played in 2007? East Ridge?
  9. I know a lot of this discussion has been about Central partly because a lot of people thought the team this year had the players to win some in the playoffs, but keep in mind Region 3 has had only 1 win in 4 years against Region 4!! That folks is a 1 -15 record and Central has only had 2 of those losses. Yes, I have agreed that discipline has to improve at Central but the other 13 losses were by teams that have been the pinnacle of disciplined teams! 4 losses by Polk, 3 by Meigs, 2 by Notre Dame, etc. Seems that tallent, (very few players playing at the d-1 level) and schedule strength, along with a mental block about beating Reg. 4, to me are the main reasons for not advancing in the playoffs right now.
  10. I feel a group hug coming on!! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Or at least a Stoney Dog lunch meeting!
  11. Well may lightening strike me down!! I think there is some common ground here between me, 6+4 and W C! There is a ton of truth in your post W C. For what it is worth, you are spot on about the situation that Coach D. has had to deal with at Central. I have talked to some of the kids that has left Central for Polk and they say it is way different in school. I really do feel it will continue to get better at Central as I know the kids that are coming back and what some of the leaders have told me how they want to be remembered, and being more disciplined is at the top of their list. Look out 6+4, if we have some tallent AND be disciplined it could be bad news for Polk next year!! /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  12. I have no problem with your message but I really hate how you continue to take your shots a coach Derrick. He did tighten up on discipline this year as he is still learning himself about being a head coach. Granted it still needs to be better and I promise you it will be better. Some of the problems he has had has been because he really wanted to help some of the kids with behavorial issues. He knew, as did his staff, that these kids had no guidence from home and had a chance to get out of a bad enviornment with a chance at college. I commend him for taking that stance even though it has caused him to take shots from you outsiders. At least those kids had a chance given to them to be successful at life when others wanted them thrown under the bus. Sometimes there are success stories and last year there were some at risk kids that are in school now, but there also are some failures, but they still had a chance. And by the way, for the last time, no team member voted on keeping or dismissing a player this year!!
  13. Many people have forgotten Central tried to see better teams this year by playing McMinn in the spring and Alcoa, So Pittsburg, and Coffee Co in the preseason scrimmages. They went 3-1 against these teams. I think over confidence was a problem after that success and being 9 -0 before the Howard game. There were still some ego issues on this team that will graduate this year. I am looking forward to next year already.
  14. We had one kid who lost his cool and a whole team who played their hearts out. Guess who gets all the discussion? Coach D has done a lot for that kid working on controling his emotions and he had done a good job until last night. Look how far Central has come in Coach's 3 years and who returns next year. I promise you now, Central will be back better, and more disciplined next year because the kids returning have a lot of character and are true leaders. We lose some great kids but the foundation is there to continue improving. Way to go this year and thanks Seniors for being a big part of turning this program around. You were 18 and 4 the last two years, be proud of that accomplishment.
  15. The schedules are not set yet. Meeting next week, I think, to nail down who is actually in each region and set that schedule. All I understand that has happened is some coaches have talked to outside schools about possibly scheduling them.
  16. Hey T-Mac, the red Solo cups DIDN'T come from the concession stand!! Those 10 to 12 guys sitting in front of me sure weren't feeling no pain by the second half!! I thought the kids could trash talk but they don't have nothing on those same 50 to 65 year olds, man they were brutal!! /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  17. Some of the "Youngsters" don't know some of the "Old School" terms! Tell Jared good luck tonight and play hard.
  18. Come on, get over yourselves too! Polk's playoff record is 7 - 16 and Central's is 9 -17 with one team in the finals! Polk hasn't won a region title in 20 years for sure and as far as I know, never since division play started. Talk about the Kool Aid drinkers! Step up to reality folks! We are not the enemy except for ONE week a year, I sincerely hope Polk wins this week as I do the Chargers.
  19. Depends on who you pull for!! Visitors were $8, Howard fans got a free pass..... along with the liquor bottles!! It got pretty rowdy by the second half last week in the stands!! /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />
  20. Good Luck Howard! Play as hard as you did against us and you will blow them out!!
  21. No one and I mean NO ONE is better that Jamin Godfrey from McMinn Central right now! Best leg I have seen in years in high school football.
  22. Congrats to the Chiefs, great finish to a troubling start on the season. To the players, keep working hard and believing and the playoffs are very realistic next year. See you guys next fall!
  23. I wanted to let this die but I can't left misinformation go. They did walk off the field against Notre Dame, BUT did not take anything off until the locker room. The players didn't vote them off either, it was a coaches decision and the Captains were called in inform them of the decision. End of story.
  24. Derrick Davis and his Polk Co Wildcats Mike Martin was very classy at Meigs Co and now at East Ridge Coach Hunt and Tellico Vic Grider and his So Pitt Pirates The entire staff at Alcoa and the Tornadoes
  25. Good Luck to Vic and the boys from South Pitt this week from your friends from McMinn Central!
