Nothing wrong and I agree. But you got to have your basketball program installed with camps, play days, strength and conditioning programs and drills throughout the year to keep crisp and to better your program. There are breaks here and there. Gibson County lost 7 players in 2019 and 6 in 2020 90% of them starters and role players and beat South Gibson, who lost 0 players the year before by almost 40 and a running clock. All about the program and the culture. I had 1 in my family I trained 24/7 1) because we wanted to win a Gold Ball and 2) because she wasn’t blessed with great speed and she led the state in 3’s in Single A and Double A in 2020 and is number 6 all time in the TSSAA record books for most single season three’s with 123. I spent thousands of dollars sending her to Jeremy Vonner at Solus in Jackson and other trainers and place was full of girls from all over mainly USJ and TCA girls, who played for a title and won a title. Parents know their kids weaknesses and instead of griping about their kid not playing get in the gym and practice and work on your weaknesses on your own and give the coach reasons to keep your kid on the floor. If your kid is playing ball and your not committed to giving it your all your wasting time, IMO.

Best quote i've seen in a long time. Parents have rose colored glasses and only see what they want to see. Great programs play the best kids and the best kids are the ones who work everyday, period. Shooting, passing, dribbling, defense, IQ, strength, agility are all vital to being a great player. Very well said pioneer.

  2. The Sequatchie Valley District is like Rodney Dangerfield, they get no respect. Good luck to the Lady Yellow Jackets from Grundy County. They seem to be getting their 1998 swagger back. Keep working hard girls. As for the rest of the district, CCS can play with anyone when they are on......flip the switch Lady Chargers and let it roll. Sequatchie and Bledsoe are talented you never know people.................I look forward to the scoreboards later tonight, District 7AA will be well represented.

Really - The Sequatchie Valley District is now 0-14 against 8-AA and lost tonights games by around 80 points. The 1-4 match-up was a 16 point game - so really.

  3. From what I saw tonight, IF Upperman and Cannon can not make it past the first round, they are officially the two worst teams in AA. The third and fourth place teams in 7AA may not be capable of beating DeKalb County.

Congrats to Upperman and Biles. I look to see another Livingston/Upperman game within the next week.

Dekalb did beat Bledsoe twice during the season, once with 3 starters out due to the swine flu, and beat Sequatchie by 20 in a play day at White Co. 8aa is so much stronger than 7aa this year and about every year.

  4. I don't understand what you are trying to say. This is the same schedule Dekalb has played for years and years. Swept Warren county for the first time in years, got 13 wins with 8 games remaining, and broke a 10 year district losing streak that 6 other coaches could not do. So what does not having courtside seats and a radio have to do with anything. It would be silly to purchase courtside seats when you get in free with your pass. This is the exact same team and exact same schedule that only won 5 games last year, and 5 had been the most games won in a season since the 90's. So say what you want but you or none of the other coaches @ Dekalb have came close to what this years team has accomplished.

  5. I still dont understand why it matters who made the video or where they got it from. It speaks for itself.

PHARGIS......are you a MT Juliet guy? Ive never seen you this upset. If someone has a video of me robbing the liquor store and its taken by a 3 yr old ive still robbed the liquor store.

Could not agree more, I don't care if Bin Laden made the tape, it is a joke, he subs, calls sets, and runs half-time and the end of the game talks as well. Who made the tape is of no importance, what matters is that each coach play by the same set of rules!

  6. It is interesting that no one is mentioning female coaches. A number of them were on the radar the past two years and the group has disappeared. I'm sure they are still there but who are they.

    Look out for Ashley Johnson

    Player:

    Shelbyville

    Ole Miss

    Head Coach:

    Lebanon Devilettes

  7. Unfortunate incident. According to an observer that I dined with after the game, the lady was yelling at him as he came out the gym door. Unfortunate that the group of players were generallly positioned between these people. Knowing the character of two of the three, there was no slight intended. They have both had girls leaving similar situations after sporting events (one week ago) and sympathetic to the feelings of the players. Apologies for the perception of what happened.

Blackman Coach shook hands after he got beat by 40, Riverdale Coach did a u-turn and did not shake hands after the game. Classless move at any level!

  8. 44, the Tower was possessed and will be possessed for some time. Feb.is Elie time. The district will be glad when she graduates but Lebanon quietly has a number of players on the squad and a good class coming in from Middle school and to say they have turned the corner with what had been done the past two years and then the Coach had done this year, glad they are moving to District 9 next year.

    3 more Elie's coming up...

  9. Listened to game on Lebanon radio. Halftime score 17 to 27, however it was closer than that until last 2 minutes when Elie went to bench with foul trouble.

Lebanon girls scored 25 in 3rd period to take the lead. The score stayed at what seems like no closer than 6 from that point on. Everytime Central hit a shot, Lebanon would match it.

Final score 57 to 47 Lebanon.

Lebanon Devilettes first victory ever over Wilson Central.

  10. AAAAAAAHHHHHHH YYYYYYYYYEEEEEEESSSSSSSS!!!! The "SWAMI" is here !!! And after a (3-1) Tuesday night ( Congrats to Oakland, no big surprise on their win) , The "SWAMI" now stands at (39-5) for the year. Here are all Friday nights winner's : Siegel will thrash my Pioneers. Siegel by 33. White County will lose at Oakland , enough said, Oakland by 18. Cookeville will get the road victory at Blackman. Cookeville by 11. And finally, Lebanon will invade the "BORO" and beat Riverdale by 7. The " SWAMI" has spoken !!! Read em and weep.

    Siegel by 40

Oakland by 20 - Big man or not

    Cookeville by12

Lebanon by 6- on Riverdale's homecoming

Once again Swami u are right on the money! What 4 teams do u see going to region

  11. Air, nothing is impossible. Everything is possible. LHS ALWAYS comes alive for the Tournament for the last 5 years. Now, didn't know you were holding the 7AAA Tournament. Just couldn't find it out. Just didn't know the rest. Your call and with your prediction record, I don't doubt it. Your team played good against MJ and many players steped up that hasnt. IT will be a little against WC. Just waiting to hear about the premier matchup between the Tower and Hassell.

If the past holds true, then 1st round tournament games are satellite in location. The possibility, though unlikely, is still there to host a game.

District tournament is in the boro this year.

I would disagree about the last 5 years in tournament play, but agree on possibly the last 3 with a definite on last year.
