  1. This banter, although sometimes appearing as whining, is important. Although it seems as the coaches are being lazy (and some may be). There are probably results that were missed throughout Track searches. When detailed results are laid out such as what Cobra posted it should help the coaches and at that point there should be no excuse to adjust accordingly.
  2. Heritage beat a Science Hill JV team. Our varsity was wrestling in SC that weekend. We put together a second string team to compete in the Seymour Duals since it was a close opportunity to get our second string guys some varsity competition. However, Maryville legitimately beat the best team we could put on the mat at Farrace Duals. It was without 5 of our current starters, but because of injuries/sickness/eligibility it was our varsity lineup and our team did not perform well enough to overcome. They split matches with Morristown West that same week whom we beat 60-15 on Tuesday with a much closer to full strength lineup. We are finally very close to full strength and I think we should be 100% next week going into the important stuff. May be without 1 or 2 this weekend but we wrestle Bradley tomorrow in what we hope will be a competitive dual match to give us an idea of where we stack up this season. We have a lot of unproven kids that have to step up and scrap to get us back to the top 4 at the end of this month.
  3. I should have known there would only be negative comments in response to this. Unfortunately, that’s all CoachT is these days. I know people are always excited to see these lineups so they can see who will be representing our state so I wanted to post this and help the fans get excited and behind these boys. Instead, these kids are deemed not worthy to represent the state. I guess I should have just left everyone in the dark until results came out. Kramer informed TNAAU two weeks ago he was going to bow out of this tournament this year. When he informed TNAAU they were struggling to get someone to take it over and considered not even taking a team. Barnett and Doty reached out to me about a week ago and asked me to take it over. I told them to avoid not taking a team I would take it over, but I would not be able to host a wrestle off because I had already promised Coach Foreman to host a handful of PF boys for a couple days of training for NHSCA in Johnson City. I immediately started going through brackets and reaching out to coaches across the state trying to get the best 9/10 kids I could. I got a lot of declined invitations because of Spring Break/Easter plans, being burnt out, too short notice, etc. The stud DII kids that I originally wanted were mostly already claimed by the 11/12 team or, as Durdon stated, had Easter plans with families. I’m sure this will continue to be mocked by OW because that is what he does. But for those who are honestly curious, I did not plan on going on this trip until 7 days ago. I tried to make the most competitive team I could in the limited time I had to put it together, regardless of team. I don’t think there is any perfect system. The wrestle off will always leave some of the best kids out because of how long our state is. It’s hard to justify a 4.5 hour drive for a wrestle off to some parents/kids. I think that this group will represent the state very well and am excited to meet some of the kids I do not yet know personally. I appreciate the opportunity to help our state be represented at this prestigious tournament. In response to the fact checks: Tyler Seeley was a 2016/2017 state medalist. Jared Harter lost in the blood round 3-2 in 16/17. He was injured this season I’m also excited to say that we have added Riley Bennett of Fairview (Runner-up) to the list at 132
  4. We will have a strong group of freshman and sophomores (and 8th graders) representing TN in Iowa this year! Our lineup is very solid with the following statistics: 2 champs 1 runner up 4 other medalists 3 lost in the blood round 1 Middle School medalist at 98 10/15 starters have a high school medal or were 1 match away! Pretty impressive for some 9th/10th graders! I expect these boys to make some noise in Iowa in a couple weeks. Here is the complete lineup with credentials: 98- Arlo Laxton (CLV) *MS MEDALIST* 106- Daniel Urochuck (SM) *CHAMP* 113- Hunter Borders (WC) *CHAMP* 120- Braxton Mann (SH) 126- Cole Fort (WC) *MEDALIST* 132- Tyler Seeley (SH) *MEDALIST* 138- Joey Ahern (HER) *BLOOD ROUND* 145- Landon Lewis (SD) 152- Josh Pietarella (HV) *RUNNER-UP* 160- Jared Harter (SH) *BLOOD ROUND* 170- Kenneth Phillips (SIE) 182- Parker Bennett (WC) 195- Micheal Moore (GRNV) *MEDALIST* 220- Skylar Coffey (BW) *MEDALIST* HWT- James Howard (EH) *BLOOD ROUND*
  5. This wrestle off is no longer taking place for the 9-10 team. I have taken over the duties of putting together the lineup and coaching this team and will do my best to put together the most competitive team I can based on previous results and who is able to make the trip. The dates and cost remain the same and must be paid prior to the trip to reserve your spot. Please contact me by text or email if you have a freshman or sophomore wrestler that is interested in joining us on our trip to Iowa. Thank you, Caleb Myers 423-329-8654 cjmyers33@me.com
  6. At 220 I look forward to seeing Medina (SH) against #4 Boone (Oakland) first round. Medina has already beaten #6 Miller (WC) 6-3.
  7. Great job by Beech piecing that team back together after some tough bumps in the road with injuries and illness and finding a way to avenge some losses and get back to the dance! Werazzlin taking care of business and peaking at the right time!
  8. You are accusing me of passive stabs but it is you who is taking deliberate stabs. I am not taking stabs at any coaches and most definitely not wrestlers. I personally messaged Coach Idlette after our first match and complimented him on the time and effort he has put into that program and told him it is great to see some new life brought to that program. I also stated how well mannered his kids were and thuroughly congratulated Dillon after he handled Arthur at home. I invited any of the DB kids to come train with us during the summer and hope that Coach Idlette takes us up on that opportunity because it will make us both better. They have done great things this season and will be hard to beat next season. I have nothing but good things to say about that coaching staff. But I am admittedly confused by the tactics of the region dual finals as were others, which is why it was brought up by another coach.
  9. They were already forfeiting before 138. They appeared to only be wrestling matches they thought they could win. It was a very disappointing way to “wrestle” a Region finals match and I do not understand it either.
  10. All results before the finals can be found here: https://sites.google.com/view/jyrosoft-frb2018/bout-resutls Hiring Dan with Jysoft allows us to be hands off with a lot of the stressful parts of running the tournament and allows us to focus on coaching. Dan does a great job and runs a great tournament. We will continue to use him every year. The process works well for our staff and fans at the tournament. We understand that people are interested in the results and are used to getting them in real time thanks to the convenience of Track. Next year I will try to remember to post this website on here so that fans that are not in attendance can see results after each round.

  12. Also from the Halls Invitational: (#4) Chase Brown dec (#2) Cameron Henderson 7-5.
  13. Notable matches from this week and Fandetti: 113: (#2) Wesley Devaney dec (#5) Braxton Mann 15-9 (#1 A-AA) Elijah Hicks pinned (#2 AAA) Wesley Devaney FALL 3:31 (#5) Braxton Mann won Fandetti defeating (#1 A-AA) Elijah Hicks 9-8. Wesley Devaney finished 4th. 120: (#4) Tyler Seeley bumped up and dec (#6 @ 126) Judson McCray 10-5 in a dual. 138: (#4) Luke Story dec (#1) Kyle Burns 9-4 in Fandetti finals 145: (UR) Andy Robinson (Bradley) dec (#3) Arthur James 3-1 in Fandetti finals. (Arthur James leads series 2-1 with a 6-2 decision and 7-5 decision in the dual matches) 182: (#1 A-AA) Trent Knight dec (#2 A-AA) Ethan Olinger 4-3 in Fandetti finals HWT: (UR) Taylor Thomas (Jeff County) dec (#5) Jacob Coppenger 11-5 in Fandetti finals
  14. Results from last night: Crockett over TN: 42-36 Science Hill over TN 69-7 Science Hill over Crockett: 70-12 Crockett has sealed their spot in the Region Duals now. And TN High is officially out of the postseason competition after losing to Crockett, DB, and Science Hill and therefore being outside of the top 3 in the district. The top 3 in our district are Science Hill, DB, and Crockett. I’m certain Jeff County will be the #1 in the other district. I would guess that Morristown West will be the #2 and Morristown East the #3. DB and Jeff will have another good match in the semis and could go either way... but I think with everyone healthy Jeff County wins that match and it will be Science Hill and Jeff County traveling to State Duals. Crockett looked very solid last night. They are young and have a lot of passionate coaches and parents in that program. They will be tough next year and the years to come
  15. Werazzlin and I chat a lot. If he tells me something and asks me not to say anything until it’s released that’s what I will do. And that entire post still stands true. Just a different Beech kid on top.
