  1. Claiborne finished with another losing season. This makes it six in a row. It's bad for not only the players but also the students and community. Just wanted to know whats being done to get the program back on track. I know that they've changed coaches a couple of seasons ago but the program has actually gotten worse according to regular season, post season, and coacht rankings. Their schedule this year was actually one of the weaker ones according to coacht. In all fairness the boys program is in worser shape. They need to look at it also. They had their worse regular season in school history. No athlete at senior atClaiborne county has a overall winning record. In any sport.
  2. Claiborne is having its worst season in school history. Did I not tell you this would happen in the fall. Is it true that very senior in every sport has a overall losing record over the last four years. Are the coaches being held accountable for this by the school athletic director. Is this fair to the players and the community. I been to one game this season and the gym was nearly empty. Is it fair to get rid of one coach who wasn't winning and keep others with a worst winning record over a longer period of time. Is there any coach who has won more games than losses over their entire careers. If so please post
  3. Claiborne had an opportunity to go out and get a coach that could change the Program around. They instead chose to keep going in a direction that will once again keep them on a losing path that the school has suffered most of the time since it opened. Instead of looking for a coach they decided to hire a coach that has had an overall losing record as a jv coach This school this season will have a losing record in most its sports and will need to make coaching changes in these sports. Poor attendance and lack of school and community support have become common especially in basketball. They need a start hiring the best coaches that they can to help the athletes become more successful.
  4. I agree.Claiborne has not only went from one of the top to where they are now. Coach Parkey always did a good job and always kept players like Hall in the program. Since both have left key players have and still are not playing. We play Claiborne every year and I can tell you that the large crowds are gone. Claiborne once had one of the largest student body around. Now it to is gone. Four straight losing sessons after all the previous success. I hate it for the players. Once beating Claiborne in a district game was once considered a big win for us. The answer lies somewhere between what happened at Union County and now has happened at Claiborne. What do both share in common.
  5. Are there any rules that relate to coaches coaching their own players in middle or high school on an AAU team?

    claiborne ?

seems like cook has got smart. she has turned over the most of the coaching to her assistant who looks like she has a better understanding of the high school game.

    claiborne ?

Trying to avoid the issue. Let's see what happens when Claiborne plays their first competitive contest friday night. Why don't you come to the game and see how great your coach is. Then judge this situation first hand. You won't be be 2 confused about the coach or this weak schedule. Claiborne only plays a few teams this year that are competitive. Their coach has guaranteed themself 17 - 20 victories with this schedule. What has happen to this program? And about your football comment. You also know that this coach ruined the football season. You can't be 2 confused about this. I will be looking forward to your comments after Friday night.

    claiborne ?

Claiborne County beat hancock by 12 last week. They are 1-1. They lost to Campbell County by 20 earlier. I was not impressed by neither hancock or claiborne county. I've been watching these two teams play for nearly 30 years. It was the smallest crowd that I've ever seen at this game. Both programs have went from state contenders to district competitors in only a few years. It is sad.
  9. I was proud to be a member of this year's team. I appreciate all that Coach Liles has done for me. I like a few of my teammates feel that we got COOKed. No one can't disagree that we were supposed to have a decent year until we lost our QB due to another coach. Our replacement did all that he could but, our old QB left due to another coach of a different sport actions. I think that this coach's actions will continue to affect the success of my BB team this season also. Why would any school allow for one coach to have this kind of effect on their sports program? Many of CHS students, athletes, and fans know what I am saying is true.
  10. Just think: 5 years ago Claiborne moves into a new school and decides not to hire the coaching staff back because this staff was accused of not being able to beat winning teams. Now this fired coach has beaten them 4 out of the last 5 with less talent. He also had to play A-E, Anderson Co, seymour, rutledge, G-P, catholic, Fulton, and knox west regularly, Now the program plays a much weaker schedule and still can't beat a team that has more wins than losses. Go figure.
  11. Can anyone explain the issue involving possible statements made by coach to former player (Turner) that has the community upset?
  12. I'm tired of people speaking about something with no facts to back it up. "Coach Cook matched Parkey's results with an excellent team a year ago". Check the facts from Coacht. Cook - losing record (over 20 losses 9 wins- school rec)Parkey - winning record 24 wins (school rec only 5 losses) Cook - lost 9 straight games (school record) Parkey won 15 straight games Cook - 5 - 5 district regular season record Parkey - 10 - 0 record Cook - Finished runner-up in dstrict tournament at home Parkey-won District Championship on away court Cook - finished next to last in Bristol tournament Parkey - reached semi-finals Cook - finished last in First Priority tournament Parkey - finished first Cook- lost regional game at home Parkey - won regional game at home Cook season over Parkey - played in Regional champ game Cook - season over Parkey upset South Greene in Regional tournament Cook season over Parkey played Austin-East in Sub-State (who won state title) Cook - District co-coach of the year Parkey win Coach of the Year again Cook has 2 make all- district team (Not count hon. mentions) Parkey has 6 on all-district team (includes sub) Cook has 0 players on all- region team Parkey had 3 Cook finished ranked 87th by Coacht out of 111 Parkey finished in top 10 again (9th) Stop the comparisions with Cook to Parkey, Harville, and anyone else. Look at the facts. Does it appear to you that she matched Parkey? Are you trying to say that Cook is a much better coach and did a better job??????????????The difference like you said is that cook loses tons of talent, Parkey always developed tons of talent.
