  1. Bradford has 6 gold balls - 1982, 1993, 1996, 1997, 1998, and 2000. They also have 2 silver balls - 1991 and 1995 Gleason has at least 3 that I remember - 1992, 1999, and 2007. I think they have one more, but not sure. I know they have at least one silver ball - 1993
  2. I laughed out loud when I read this. I've seen McMinn Central play three games in the state, and felt they got "hosed" in all three games. And now to read this from you, makes me wonder if all teams' fans feel that way. It wasn't the refs that beat Westview today.....it was the disciplne, determination, and desire of the Chargerettes. That's funny that you have seen them play 3 games in the state since they have only played 2. lol
  3. I have been busy today. Last night was very disappointing. Gleason is a very disciplined team. They play their style no matter what, and they play it well. Our girls had a great season that fell short of what we thought was possible. We will move on and be back next year. Good luck to the region 7 teams.
  4. Bradford does appear to be that team again. I made that comment the other night. I agree with you about them beating Gleason. I also agree that they are capable of beating Greenfield, but I don't think it will happen. My reasoning is simple. First, Bradford has returned to where they were, but Greenfield has steadily improved. Second, I believe that early in the year, Bradford was in Greenfield's head. When Greenfield realized that they were actually a better team, they took over at Bradford. So, while I agree that Bradford is that team from early on and are capable of the win, I think Greenfield will win that game.
  5. I hope you are right. I would hate to see the championship on a Wed. night. A youth pastor friend of mine said that it did happen the last time Gleason won state. I am thinking that was '07.
  6. West..Are you sure about Thursday night?Unless I looked at the brackets wrong ,it shows the games to be played the 26 which is Friday.. During the finals of the district tourney they announced that the 1st round games would be on Thurs.
  7. I agree that Lake Co's speed on defense did affect us, but it in my opinion it was the outside shooting that won the game. If your 2 girls aren't hot like they were, the speed would not have been as noticeable plus if they weren't hitting then you guys would not have been able to set up the press so much. I am not trying to downplay the speed, but it does not catch us off guard. I am not sure if Humboldt is as quick as you guys are but they are pretty quick and we have seen them and you guys a total of 6 times. So we have an idea about the speed. I don't this for a fact, but I would believe that your shooting pct was higher last night than any other time we have faced you guys.
  8. I'd have to say it was a big deal...Greenfield now gets a possible do-or-die region semi game against Gleason... The reason I don't think it was a big deal is: 1. I think that Lake Co. and Greenfield are the two best teams in the region and therefore I like their chances of meeting again, and 2. I don't think Gleason will beat Bradford. As a matter of fact, I think Greenfield would handle Gleason better than Bradford.
  9. I give plenty of teams credit. Molly did have a slump and still finished the year averaging 19 points a game. The fact that I pull for Greenfield and said Molly was the best player in the district should prove that I am not a homer. Sure I am a bit biased towards Greenfield as is any fan. Also, I don't really care who you think is more knowledgeable since it is all opinion anyway. Greenfield did hold Molly to 5 points in the last game we played and T.T. also scored about 10 or 12 against us last night. I also don't think it was Lake co's speed that beat us. They beat us because Mathews and I think Pearce were on fire outside. but just like me, you are entitled to your opinion. I don't really see how my comment on Humboldt factors into this discussion. I was replying to someone who said that Humboldt would be dangerous in the tournament. Humboldt is a good team, but they are not a dangerous team. You cant compare Humboldt to Lake Co. It is not even close.
  10. Congrats to Lake Co. You guys played a great game. The refs did not call a bad game, but they did let them play a physical style and that plays into Lake Co's hand. Greenfield missed some wide open shots early. Also, I thought that Greenfield did a good job on T.T. I think she only had about 10 points or so. Greenfield just got beat tonight. Lady Jackets, don't hold your heads down. That game was for bragging rights only. The 1 or 2 seed is not that big of a deal. Hopefully we will meet Lake Co again.
  11. If it were a tourney MVP, I would say that Jordan is leading right now. However it is not. It is for the season. It is a two person race. Molly and T.T. I am with Bigster. I am not getting into it, but "we all know who should win it." lol I want the team trophy too Greenfieldfan. Let's go Lady Jackets. I am heading out now.
  12. There is not 1 team left on Middleton's schedule that will beat them..! As a matter of fact..they look to have a great chance of making it to State..I dont see anyone in the region that will beat them either so it looks like Gleason,Greenfield,Lake Co or maybe Bradford, etc will be coming to Middleton..That may be a tough chore at Middleton but at least Middleton will have 1 tough test..Lake Co has played on the road in a tournament in Kentucky and in small gyms like Bradford so hopefully that wont be a factor..Same as Greenfield ..everyone back and will have played in some tough places like Lake Co.,Greenfield and Bradford..etc.! middleton has had plenty of tough tests this season. first off against humboldt, where they pulled off a 3 point win against a very dangerous viking team....everyone talks about gleason, greenfield, etc....people better not sleep on humboldt. could pose a huge prob in the tourneys. middleton has also beaten a very good lexington team, who imo has quite a bit of talent. theyve beaten mcnairy at mcnairy and hardin co as well, so dont underrate middleton's schedule. and as for beating scotts hill by 35, dont underestimate scotts hill either; they are very talented and are very big for a single A school. their record speaks for itself and beating them will be as equally difficult as beating middleton, if both teams were to get in the substate round. Well, Humboldt was not too dangerous in the district tourney. An 18 point loss to Greenfield.
  13. Yeah I caught where you said that about comparing scores. You said it right after you started comparing scores. lol I am just busting your chops Bigster. Surely you have figured me out by now.
