No freestyle or Greco tournaments in the mid state this weekend. Here’s your chance to get better. Invite a friend or workout partner.

Two session freestyle and Greco clinic Sunday, April 25th at Riverdale High School. Clinicians: Nick Boykin (Fargo FS/G Champ, Junior World Team Member, Senior Greco Champ, Olympic Trials Qualifier) and Dylan D’Emillio (4X Ohio State Champ, NCAA Qualifier, Cadet Pan AM Silver Medalist). Times: 9-11am and 12:30-2:30. Cost: $50. Registration: Email Coach Sacharczyk sacharczyke@rcschools.net.

They have a program and already had a coach. This definitely wasn’t something I was looking for. It had more to do with timing than anything else. If the part about the “plan was” is confusing... that had to do with my teaching position. I was hired to teach Emergency Medical Responder and eventually EMT. I just retired from the fire service in July. There was some initial uncertainty if I would still continue to teach at Rockvale. My staff and I are very excited for this awesome opportunity. We are looking forward to getting together with our team and laying out plans for the future. Until then, I hope everyone stays healthy and safe.

For those in and around the mid-state, there is a parent meeting this Wednesday, Blackman high school at 6pm. Come find out what there is to know about the upcoming season... It’s open to everyone. Workouts start March 9th.

Nice wins by Boyce overtaking a much bigger set of ranked foes this weekend in the then #3 Dawson and newly ranked #6 Worley. Heavyweight still looks like a one man race though.

How did we segue into private school wrestling on a AAA Rankings are now posted topic? Asking for a friend...

Early bird is this weekend... Any takers? We can put almost a month of squabbling to rest and increase the size of next year’s tournament by two mats.

I think we should let you guys wrestle it out. Winner’s rankings stand. Blackman will host and agrees to split the proceeds. Good LORD knows we need our building back.

Think if Skylar has half the time wrestling these guys have where he might be talent-wise. You are correct, his ceiling is high.

Congratulations to Skylar Coffey on his 4th place finish at Super 32. A tip of the hat to his coach too. Well done guys.

An annual membership meeting with a total five clubs represented. One coach who attended can’t even cast a vote because his school won’t recognize wrestling outside of the school season. It was posted on this message board well in advance announcing the date. Another one followed up with a location and time. Heck an email from the board was sent out with the proposed amended bylaws a week prior for review. They even identified the positions up for re-election. Then, a reminder email about the meeting was sent out; to every coach in the state on Vandergriff’s list. This was a step in the right direction. The only way our voice can be heard is to stay engaged. Remember this is for the kids...

Let Dan coach!! We don’t want him tied up doing paperwork and going to meetings. Too much experience on the mat to do anything else.

Hoosierdad, the truth is absolutely important. Again my question, since you choose to be persistent in responding but not answering is, do we want to be right or do we want to get better.
