Did I hear correctly that McMinn County beat Polk 14-2? What happened???? I know its early but I didn't see that one coming!

First, I have not picked the Chiefs to finish first in the past.... If you think the Chiefs don't have a day 2 starter that can break glass you are crazy. I do think Polk is the team to beat. The Chiefs demolished the Chargers at camp at MTSU this summer. I know when Moses takes the mound Central will be tough to beat as always! There is NO WAY the CHIEFS end up in the cellar!

Should be a great year for District 5AA. Several good teams with a lot of close games. 1) Sequoyah 2) Polk 3)McMinn Central 4)Sweetwater 5) Meigs

I coach a 18U Showcase Team based out of Madisonville TN. We are the Monroe County Mudcats. The 2011 Monroe County Mudcats are looking to fill 5 Roster Spots with top level tallent. We finished the 2010 summer with a 20-8 record. We won three of the six tournaments we played this year. Champions of the East TN Bash, Cleveland State Classic, and the Southeastern Showcase! Congratulations to the 7 young men that will be moving on the play college baseball next year! The cost per player is $450.00. (All player money goes for uniforms and tournament entries) We do not pay our coaches!

2011 MC Mudcats We are an 18U Showcase team that will be playing games against top level Teams! We will be playing at several Colleges and Universities throughout the summer. I know a lot of people said that District 5 AA was really weak but I think we finished strong. Congratulations to Polk on a great season and strong playoff showing. Also Congratulations to Sequoyah and Sweetwater for both making the playoffs. The Chiefs had a strong showing against a good Gibbs team and of course Sweetwater faced all world Alcoa. Coley had Tommy John surgery. Yes, we added new lights last year. It is one of the best fields in the state. We still need new bleachers and new press box with concession stand. Coach Moser does a outstanding job on field!! Go Chiefs!

I think the Chiefs will be very good this season. The loss of R. Coley for the season hurts but we have a lot of young tallent ready to step up. Pitching should be very deep with everyone returning from last year. Helms, Debity, and Allen will anchor the staff with Johnson and McCain adding depth to the rotation. Offensively we should hit from top to bottom of the order..... Power numbers should continue to increase this year with Johnson and McCain getting stronger in their soph season. Defensively we are looking to fill a couple of holes due to graduation (CF and 2B). Good incoming freshman class. Good Luck Chiefs! Work hard and good things are in store for you!!! Go Chiefs!!

Gibbs is really tallented but I think the Chiefs will be ready and will play a good game. If the cheifs can win the turnover battle they will have a chance. Good luck Chiefs!

AKA Lets compare the non district games Sweetwater or Sequoyah Rockwood or Signal Mountian Greenback or Lenoir City East Ridge or CAK N. Dame or Scott County If the Chiefs played sweetwater's schedule they would be 7-2 with the only losses being Polk and Loudon.

These Chief seniors have been through a lot in there 4 years. What an opportunity they have in front of them this week. Go out this week and prepare for the game of your career. Leave it all on the field and be proud of yourself for sticking it out during the hard times when a lot of other young men hung it up. As Coach Quarles said at your freshman banquet "Leave the program in better shape than you found it", this group of seniors has done this. Now let's go out there and finish the deal!! Go Chiefs!!!!!!!
