  7. And to take it one step further about the comment about the rankings don't change much from week to week. Lets examine the comment, a rankings system that doesn't change much would say to me it is pretty accurate with results coming in and those ranked wrestlers staying relatively the same with some minor movement. A ranking system that changes dramatically tends to scream inaccuracy. I know Bray and I know he takes the same care and time to do rankings as Hamm and House, however if you ask 10 people to do rankings not one of them will be the same. With respect to everyone doing rankings its a difficult job, pains taking, and most of the time done without accurate information due to coaches not posting results. Not to mention the most important thing, rankings don't guarantee a medal they are projections based on current given indicators with head to head matches and other determining factors. At the end of the day the TSSAA doesn't give out state medals for ANYONES rankings, those medals are earned through hard work and not conjecture.

  15. The Bridgestone Arena would cost nearly $100K for 3 days, the cost of your hotels would be roughly 25% more due to downtown locations and parking is $10-$15 per day for parking and none on site. Logistically for all involved it would be a nightmare. What is best is a central location in the state that provided adequate lodging at reasonable costs for the schools, onsite parking and a facility that has enough floor space to accommodate 14 mats. Although I can understand why a flashy venue seems attractive, but imagine having to manage those costs with your High School Wrestling budget, which is typically pretty depleted by the end of the year. The other issue is support of the event with patrons. TN does not even do 5,000 ticket sales for the entire event, we don't have the demographics to support an event of that magnitude. Those states you speak of have I would imagine (being from Michigan and seeing how large the events are) 10,000-15,000 in ticket sales. If you have ever been at the finals for the state meet its pretty sad even when it was in Chattanooga, maybe 1000 people in the stands.. Just my opinion
  16. Yes, final state predication should be posted by tomorrow.. Although any more everyone and there brother are doing rankings because they feel like their kid should be in the mix. It is getting seriously diluted... As of last count today there are 5 people now doing their own rankings... Going to work with the TSSAA to have them sanction and OFFICIAL ranking.

  19. I appreciate your enthusiasm but i would ask that going forward you don't re-post our rankings on here. We set up links specifically for purposes of traffic to our website. So you understand a little better and don't think I'm being abrupt I will explain why its important for our traffic count to be high to our website. We are a non profit organization that is dedicated to the development of youth wrestling in TN. And because we are non profit we have to find ways to create revenue or donation to our org to help wrestlers throughout TN. One of those ways is for us to begin to be able to offer web advertising to organizations because we have nearly 400,000 unique views after only one year of having our new site up and running. The more our number goes up the more we can charge for advertising space. So to the original point, if you copy and paste and re-post our ranking here we lose the opportunity to charge add space thus not getting extra money and one day that may mean one of your wrestlers cant attend a national event because we can give them enough stipendiary money to offset their cost of travel. this is only one example of many we utilize money for to develop youth wrestling in TN I hope you understand and forgive the long explanation. Thanks for your respect in this manner Coach Trick Vice Chairman Tennessee Wrestling Federation
