Been away a few days... Heritage was best all around team, pitching was good but there was a re-plant on every pitch. But not over dominating. Funny how that is never called. Defense was very solid for a school team. They have a very solid catcher, who does she play travel for? Several travel ball players.. I felt we (Richland) we should have won it though, best pitching, best catcher and solid defense except for a few outfield plays that effected the outcome. Outfield weaknesses really show up in school ball when there is a hole or two.. But the score at the end is all that counts..and Heritage beat Richland and Cornersville...Congrats to Heritage.

There is a middle school tournament this Friday March 6th & Sat March 7th at the Columbia Academy & Columbia State fields... But I guess something could be at Central and Park in town...

Demarini CF3 is IMHO the hottest bat out for 2009.. It is most likely the same bat the Phenix, which was very hot but CF3 is hot..

I was wondering if there were any scores from Forrest Middle school Tourney(Freb 21)? Any other scores? I saw where Columbia Academy beat Sante Fe 11-1 on 2-17..(CA has an awesome 8th grader playing Varsity this year. She is a '95 B'day, played with Huntsville Comets travel and is a very good SS/C. The highschool is very lucky to have her) In saying that it doesn't look like, the middle school team missed her against Sante Fe.

Pitching, Hitting, Defense number of travel ball players that make up your team, etc Richland I will go first - Pitching - Quiet possibly best 12U pitcher (7th Grader) in the state. (Plays for Huntsville Comets, now Frost Comets '96 that has been to ASA Nationals past two years. The other best pitcher in the state also plays for our travel team but goes to school in Dekalb). We also have another 7th grader pitcher.. Catching- (My DD so a little bias, one of the best if not the best 12U catcher (7th Grader) in the state. Controls the game with very good arm. Also plays for Huntsville Comets, now Frost Comets '96 that has been to ASA Nationals past two years. Defense I haven't got to see much of practice on the dirt but have coached several of the girls previous years in Pulaski Rec Ball.. Should be ok, with a decent outfield.. Pretty strong at SS, 2nd, CF and 1st Offense- Top 5 or 6 or so should be able to hit Mental - Where I am worried. A lot of these girls have never played but rec ball, and my passion for softball and the passion from rec ball is usually a little different. lol I am Worried about, leads, base running, game knowledge, bunting, etc Speed - Ok, a few fast runners but not a lot of blazing speed or team speed

If it is ok with moderators I would like to start a Middle School thread...Anyone? Top programs or feeder programs, top upcoming athletes, etc? I know good bit about the Middle schools of Richland program (DD School) and Cornersville program.. Anyone else on here attending the CA Middle tournament on March 6th & 7th??? Thanks

I know this is a highschool message board but why don't we see more talk on the players and their highschool and their respective travel teams that they play for, etc? what percentage of highschool players also play travel ball? And to what level A or B? I mean how many of the highschool players are representing Tennessee at say ASA Nationals, USFA World Series, NSA, USSSA, etc? All of these teams that are being predicted do well and be at State, just curious to what travel teams these teams are associated with or have players playing. So I may get to see some of the players after school ball on the weekends. Hope I don't offend anyone, just trying to get some comparisons and relate them to my daughetrs travel ball. Thanks
