  1. I would like to see how Antioch responds to losing their district championship when they go up against undefeated Franklin next.
  2. Lookout for John Overton High School in district 12-AAA. I think they are the most underrated team in AAA with the capability to win state. I have seen them play, they are talented and they are well coached. They just knocked off a fantastic Antioch team last night to top it all off.
  3. Finals were: Father Ryan-3 / Baylor-2 MUS / Cordova - Unknown Alcoa-0 / Maryville-5 CAK-8 / Kingston-0
  4. District 9-AAA All tournament dates have been moved ahead 1 day respectively due to flooded fields. Schedule was Mon/Tue/Thu and is now Tue/Wed/Fri. Thanks, BarcaFan
  5. District 6 A-AA Heading into tournament I believe East Hamilton and East Ridge are seeds 1 & 2 respectively. District 5 A-AA Boyd @ Sweetwater appear to be 1 & 2 in their district. I don't expect any surprises in those districts but you never know come tournament time. I see East Ridge being the biggest challenge for East Hamilton and they have the talent to do it but East Hamilton is disciplined and will have to count on that for the tourney. I don't really see anyone who can step up to Boyd Buchanan in their side.
  6. A-AA District 10 White House looks to be the team to beat in this one but last I saw (not all scores were posted) Sycamore was undefeated in district play as well.
  7. Big games between top contenders for state titles tonight. Let us know how they play out! Father Ryan @ Baylor MUS @ Cordova Alcoa @ Maryville CAK @ Kingston
  8. District 11AAA really beat each other up this season. Always a tough district but good parity. I think that means Franklin gets an automatic thru to regions under their district rules but I would not count Brentwood out of finding a way through the district tournament. Smyrna has looked exceptionally good in 7AAA.
  9. Most regular season district champs will be wrapped up by tonight or tomorrow night. Chime in on your district as to who the regular season champ will be and who to lookout for in the district tournaments.
  10. April 12 Gallatin - 0 / Siegel - 1 Father Ryan - 3 / Bearden - 0 Hendersonville - 2 / Karns - 1 April 13 Siegel / Father Ryan Karns - 1 / Gallatin - 5 Bearden - 1 / Hendersonville - 2 April 14 Father Ryan - 9 / Karns - 1 Gallatin - 1 / Bearden - 1 Hendersonville - 3 / Siegel - 1
  11. I was not able to get the Siegel/Father Ryan score if someone can help with that. Karns - 1 / Gallatin - 5 Bearden - 1/ Hendersonville - 2
  12. April 12, 13, 14 April 12 Gallatin - 0 / Siegel - 1 Father Ryan - 3 / Bearden - 0 Hendersonville - 2 / Karns - 1 April 13 Siegel / Father Ryan Karns / Gallatin Bearden / Hendersonville April 14 Father Ryan / Karns Gallatin / Bearden Hendersonville / Siegel
  13. I saw Gallatin defeat Knox West 3-2 and Hendersonville defeat Notre Dame 2-0 last night. I would like to see someone post the other scores.
  14. I don't find it suprising that more of these players did not compete as freshmen. Not that they aren't great players just that they are freshmen and whether red-shirt, injury, or otherwise college coaches do not have huge expectation that a player will be helping the team right away unless they are highly recruited elite players. They are looking at the talent and how it fits into their system. Don't forget most of these college rosters are filled from outside of the country not to mention outside of Tennessee if they are being heavily recruited. I would say look at these players again next year or better still two years from now to see if they have worked their way into the main rotation of players that will be used.
  15. I know I instigated this conversation back when I was corrected about Brentwood being out of the playoffs because of their new rules for this season and again I congratulate Brentwood as the boys certainly are a team worthy of the title. I think my biggest gripe is that any team in the district with an automatic berth should not play in the district tournament. For one thing we would not be having this conversation because then Brentwood never would have lost to Independence in the districts and a very good Independence team might have been more ready to take it to another very good Ravenwood team. If one team gets an automatic berth to regions then they should not play in the district tourney, period. I still think the rules should be the same for every district..nuff said.
  16. Brentwood is the 2012 AAA Champ with a 1-0 victory over Collierville. Tough fought game...I think the score may have been an own goal as the defender was being struck by the Brentwood player going for a header. Could not tell for sure but it looked possible.
  17. I watched the game on-line and really enjoyed what I saw. After Knox Webb was up 1-0 they seemed to go almost immediately into a protect and counter mode. FRA picked up the intensity and started to gain some momentum after the half with the wind to their backs and even though FRA tied the game up it was with great difficulty because the KW defense did not expose itself and kept things very congested. Ultimately I think some fatigue on both teams created some chances for things to happen in the golden goal period. Congratulations to Knox Webb!
  18. I like the convenience of Spring Fling being in the mid-state area but is there a long term agreement that soccer will stay at Siegel Soccer Complex? I know before the complex was completed they did move around the state every so many years. I'm curious if anyone knows how this is determined.
  19. I don't think Collierville has ever won the Boys AAA soccer championship. This an exciting opportunity for their team and school. It sounds like Brentwood better not be complacent in their approach or Collierville will make them pay. I do believe both teams are at the top of their game right now so it should make for some excellent soccer!
  20. I need to hear from the west as I did now know Collierville had the guns to go and put it to Bearden. That being said I'd like to read some opinions on the state championship match-up. Good luck to both teams and their respective schools as they prepare for their biggest game so far.
  21. You picked it! I never saw the Collierville over Bearden coming especially 4-0. I'd like to know more about that result from both sides.
  22. I think you would have a case if you had said Districts 4, 8, 9, 10, or 15. All have between 4 to 6 teams that are competitive at the higher range of the sport. That being said Districts 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 have by far the top and consistently the best teams in the state. Of course if you look at state championships CAK skews the numbers for everyone but outside of CAK even the other state champions and many of the runner-ups are also from East Tennessee. So my response to you would be yes district 9 may be one of the deepest with CPA, Hume Fogg, MLK, David Lipscomb, and Goodpasture but their neighboring district 10 may be just as deep with Cheatham Co, White House (still in the hunt for a state title this year), Clarksville Academy, White House Heritage, Greenbriar, and the up and coming Merrol Hyde (new coach Jim Carr is doing wonders with the team).
  23. Lol...for some reason crow never looks that appetizing.
  24. Collierville vs Bearden Riverdale vs Brentwood I hate choose the what looks to be obvious just because there is no such thing as obvious at this point. Probably Bearden vs Brentwood in the final but I was impressed especially with Collierville's win over Ravenwood. I still think ultimately Brentwood will win another state championship and stand in the way of Bearden winning another.
