  1. I thought Maryville going back to a Flat Four killed them this game. They beat Bearden and stood toe to toe with Farragut playing with a sweeper and appeared much more comfortable. Bad tactical mistake by Maryville Coaches in my opinion. Also, unfortunate that Maryville Goalie let a 30 yard Free Kick sneak over his head untouched for a Goal. Diego from Oak Ridge did play very well and they moved him around the field to find him open space.
  2. I am going with West and Maryville. New blood headed to State
  3. Talked to Steve-O recently. He told me he is going to Coach at Webb. Not sure if JV or Varsity though. Great guy.
  4. Two on corners and one on a throw in that resembled a corner kick
  5. Great looking list but your are right, hard to narrow down. 9 for Maryville is Roderick Blevins I think Graham Gilley(Outside Mid who is a tremendous threat on headers) deserves consideration as well as Ryan Pugh of Maryville(Probably most consistent and Solid Defender on a very solid defensive team) Oak Ridge had a forward I thought was very good as well(Think he was number 10) He actually looks a lot like Jack McCoy
  6. Whatever buddy. I did play competitive sports growing up, and I played it with passion and hated to lose more than anybody I knew. However, I also was taught there is such a thing as playing with Sportsmanship. That play was definitely poor sportsmanship and luckily in Soccer there are severe pentaties to deal with it. We will see if it pays off for Farragut. Also, I don't agree Maryville's offense being futile. They scored the same amount of goals as Farratgut in regulation and could have won the game just as easily as Farragut. Plus as you said yourself all goals scored on set plays. Very hard fought even match in my opinion except for that one play which could cost Farragut in the long run.
  7. I'm with you Ned. Can't believe a player would sacrifice two games in the playoffs like that kid did taking down Carter from behind. Very classless play by Farragut in my opinion.
  8. I was at the game and if any coach or player is proud to win by grabbing and taking a guy down from behind like that I would be ashamed. If that is what it takes for Farragut to win games then thats to bad. Nothing to be proud of in my opinion and I hope the loss of that player for two games costs them dearly. Very cheap and classless play in my opinion. Should have been a PK, if nothing else for the flagrance of the foul. Foul appeared to be in the box to me anyway.
  9. Well I guess the old Football School has some pretty good soccer players as well. Great Job Maryville on taking out the Dogs at their house!
  10. Who wins this game and what does the winner gain?
  11. Predict score of this game? Does Maryville have any shot at them?
  12. Most of these High School Refs don't have the guts or enough confidence to even give Yellow cards much less a Red. I have never seen a Red Card in High School since I have been watching the last 5 years. Stupid rule by the State on changing severity of pentalty because it does keep Refs from making proper calls to protect these kids which should be their primary objective.
  13. Seth Williams of Bearden strong defender, Jack McCoy of West excellent striker, and Austin Pugh of Maryville very good Center Mid with excellent vision and quickness. These are the best freshman I have seen play this year.
  14. He plays with KFC Holland Blue Division 1 Team. I believe they were State Finalist Last Year.
  15. Obviously you haven't seen him play much. His size has never stopped him before(besides he is only a freshman), and nobody on that field at SD had a good shot that night because it was under 4 inches of water. Besides he plays defensive center mid right now and his job is to control the action and distribute. He has great touch and vision and is extremely smart on the field.
