  1. Did you just make that S@@@ up? Can you back up the 100 yards rule? I believe it is not in the TSSAA rules unless they just recently put it in. Here is the rule excepted from the TSSAA Handbook: Q. Is it a violation for a registered athlete in track or cross country to participate in a road race? A. No, provided the race is longer than 3200 meters during track season or longer than 5K (3.1 miles) during cross country season. Most smart race directors will tell the high schoolers to take one step back from the starting line, thus making the course longer than 5k. mrcballer22, do you have any other 'made up' rules you would like to share with us?
  2. FYI, Red Bank is A-AA this year so move Claire to the top of that list. Jumper & Gartman will give Nobert & Murray a run for their money in D-II.
  3. Since the three teams that represented the boys from Region 3 last year are all moving to Region 4 (CCS, Notre Dame, and Signal Mountain) as well as Sequatchie County (Dylan Harper) I think it will be wide open, and much watered down. I guess Collegedale can just continue their streak and go for a 4-peat. Claire Turner will obviously be the girls fav as Red Bank drops to A/AA. East Hamilton will be the wild card, no teilling who will show up under this new program. This first year school has the potential to be a big impact like SM last year.
  4. Dude, no kidding. 8k = 51 yards short of 5 miles. (About 3 minutes for Conigs if you look at his last 51 yards at state /huh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="huh.gif" /> ) Seriously though, 8k or even 10k may prove to be more in your wheelhouse, Matt.
  5. on the other hand.... /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> (Way to go out hard and give it a try though)
  6. Psz- I'm not trying to neg you but come on, use some punctuation and check your spelling once in a while. It's not that hard. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> You are correct saying TN Runner does not have complete coverage, but it is about the easiest place to get MUCH information quickly. It's pretty hard to follow region results outside of one's own area so you may have some better insight to your onw region. Head-to-head competition is certainly a great indicator to point out. I guess they'll just have to go ahead and run the state meet to see who really has it. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

  8. Boys: 1- Dyersburg (duh) 2- Big Sandy 3- TCA Mark Cole FTW Girls: 1 - USJ (duh, and Hazelhurst by more than a minute) 2 - Jackson Christian 3 - Dyersburg
  9. Why don't they just put in a "goal tending" rule like in basketball? Score the goal on a handball in the box regardless of intention.
  10. Chattown will be the place to be on the 20th. Either you're too unimportant to get into coach woods meet or ur afraid of a little hill. Me thinks u r the baboon.
  11. The dude ran 17:59 at regions. 1600 & 3200 are correct as posted on ME team page.
  12. I looked up the TSSAA rule and is says "Q. Is it a violation for a registered athlete in track or cross country to participate in a road race? A. No, provided the race is longer than 3200 meters during track season or longer than 5k (3.1 miles) during cross country season." I've been at races where there is a separate starting line for high shcool runners that is maybe 100 meters behind the 5k line. I've also been at races where the starter basically told everyone at the starting line 'to take a step back...now we are longer than a 5k'.

    Region 3

Ya, it stinks for those boys, I think they should just show up & run anyway. TSSAA should change the rule on individuals making it to state. I think other states let the 1st 10 individuals NOT on a qualifiying team go to the state championships.

    Region 3

Well shiver me timbers, forget the Collegedale discussion as TSSAA just moved the state meet back to Saturday. Oh well, they prolly hadn't started running anyway.

    Region 3

Doesn't Baylor loose 2 of their top 5, state champ Waldo being one of them? That's a lot of reloading to ask for, although that Lord kid looks like he has some awesome potential...hmmmmmm. What will mr biology cook up in the lab I wonder? /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" />
  16. Collegedale is deep and usually a pack running team but they did loose 3 of their top 5 to graduation. Their region is kinda weak so even if they reload well I don't see them doing too well at state. Looks like you'll be the lone ranger in a/aa until state, conigs, do you see anybody coming up to stay on your shoulder through 3 miles?
  17. So, now that Collegedale gets to have its day at state, do you think they will be any good this year? /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />
