  1. Finally, the end of a pathetic season draws near for both teams, more so for Indy. To top it all off, this is the Thursday Night Lights game on channel 30. Sorry Upn, but your ratings will crash, since most viewers will flip over to watch "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown". I can harldy wait till next season. Actually, YES I CAN!
  2. The Rebels took care of business while Independence flopped yet again. I waited until this morning to share my thoughts because if I had done so last night after I got home, I am sure CoachT would have locked me out for good. The Indy program has dropped off the face of the earth in all aspects. Other than a kicker, they are cooked. Indy has one of the best kickers around, and the offense cant even get close enough to give him a shot. The defense plays well at times, but then has no faith in their offense so they finally give up. It appears reality has set in for all of Indy, even Dyson. He looks like a whipped puppy, and he can thank his boss for all the spankings. Way too many on this board blame Dyson for the Indy downfall. Dyson is only part of the problem. WHO HIRED HIM? And dont say that he hired himself, the principals do all the hiring and firing. Unfortunately, things will only get worse before they get better. The new high school will open and the issues at Indy will only snowball. Indy has seen its better days. Sad but true.
  3. "IM NOT THAT STUPID" You so sure about that? The tone that I have seen so far is very alarming to me, as well as others that have been out to see the scrimmages so far. I know they are only scrimmages, but I tell it like I see it. It is quite obvious that Dyson is not ready for this, which we all worried about when he was named the head coach. You are right, it will take a while to get into the swing of things, the problem is ihs does not have a while. As I mentioned, this "good" coaching you speak of, the schedule and new school will take its toll on ihs football. Your stupidity shows when you say things like "I dont even think Indy will make the playoffs. But good coaching goes a long way." You get on here and speak so highly of the talent, the balance of play calling we will see this year, and good coaching, but you do not think they will make the playoffs? Your ignorance shows when you are already blaming the former coach for all the problems that ihs football is facing now and will face down the road. For ihs football sake, they need support, not excuses. Who is the dum dum? As I look at the ihs schedule, I am not sure that ihs will win a game until Hillsboro. I hope I am wrong, but from what I see and hear, the wheels are losing lugnuts fast, and I am not so sure I have not seen a wheel on the side of Hwy 31 already. I plan to attend the Siegel game to form a better opinion. Good luck to the eagles!
  4. Mack, have you been out to see any of the ihs scrimmages thus far? I was able to get out for the BGA and again last night vs Lincoln County, from what I can tell, ihs has a lot of work to do and that is putting it mildly. I did not make it to the Dickson County scrimmage last week, but reports I got were that ihs struggled bigtime and really looked bad. The offense looks nothing like the 07 offense...which leads me to believe you have not been out to see them or maybe you have no idea what you are talking about. This offense looks to be in disarray. And this depth you speak of, where is it, maybe they should use it more. It is quite obvious that the loss of Heckman to graduation will hurt. The kids at the QB spot right now need a lot of work. The defense needs to learn how to tackle plain and simple. So as far as ihs goes, I believe the eagles may be in for a long season. Unfortunately, I think this year will be the year that sends ihs on a downward spiral. Besides coaching, the schedule and new school that will rob ihs of players after this year will do them in. As far as projections for the district: 1. Brentwood - Some key players back and very well coached program. 2. Franklin - Lost some really good players and coaches, not real sure they will finish this high. 3. Ravenwood - 3 thru 6 is really anyones for the taking. 4. Centennial - I do agree with you that this team is the sleeper in the area. 5. Independence - See above 6. Hillsboro - Out of their league.
  5. I am thinking something more along these lines: 1-2: Brentwood & Franklin will battle for district title, what else is new? I would lean towards Brentwood though with Franklin DC gone to BGA. 3-6: Drop Ravenwood, Centennial, Indy and Hillsboro in a hat and draw them out. I think that these teams will beat up on one another and MAYBE sneak up on Brentwood or Franklin along the way. Anyone know when the teams begin spring practices?
  6. Gambler, I do not recall 3 plays, but do recall 1 for sure and that was against Brentwood. I was not able to attend all the games, so there may have been more than that, but I know for sure there was 1 there. I spoke to a parent who has a son on the team last night and he was saying that Dyson has several new guys on staff already. Law, an assistant from Spring Hill who he says has a son on the team at Indy and a former assistant coach that was at Indy before, I think he said Cisslack. I also gathered that Dyson did not hire Law, the principal did. The more I find out about this situation and what is going on there at Indy, this is a classic case of who you are and who you know rather than what you have done.
  7. skin, i just left the indy thread to see how my friends in metro were doing and came across this. Is there something in the hiring water that these school principals are drinking on? Dyson is named head guy at indy with hardly any coaching background. What more is there to say about that one? Wasn't Philips at Centennial High Scool a few years back, before going to metro? Philips has done nothing ever since he has been coaching in the mid-state, but at least he has some "experience". These programs will soon hit bottom with a ferocious thump, which is very unfortunate for the players in these programs.
  8. first for the kids at INDY i hope its a good move.......... but really is it ? Is Dyson ready to coach in one of the toughest conferences in the state ? here is a guy that seems to be using his music city miracle to get the jobs, - Look for all i know or dont know the guy could be the czar of all A.D. 's and the the next Don flippin Shula - But he is named the AD without putting in any dues at all, and then gets a good lil gig as the head coach over at INDY when all he has done is for a few years work as a non paid coach for i do believe Frankin then FRA then a wide receiver coach for Glencliff before arguing with head coach Scott Murray and getting the boot... anyways its been fun and im sure it will get better come august...... That is it? You are telling me beyond a wr coach at Glencliff the guy was a volunteer coach at Franklin and FRA? Dyson was one yard short, is the principal at Indy one mile beyond the kookoo's nest?
  9. Indy Vs Franklin? Did we forget about the Bruins?
  10. IndyEagle09 may be on to something here. It is common knowledge that Campbell and Clayton do have strong ties. And who is Scharsch and what are his credentials? All I found online was a stint at Eagleville and now Spring Hill. Those two stops qualify him for the Indy job? There is something wrong with this picture for sure. Good Luck Indy, it appears you are going to need it, in more ways than one.
  11. The "fan" has creeped out of the snake pit long enough to take a few shots at the Indy program once again. "Fan" what can you really tell us about this Indy team? I bet you cannot supply anyone on here with any factual information, so please, slither back into your hole and chew on another rat, or maybe we will get lucky and the rat will whip your @$$$$ and do us all a favor. You can cry over spilt milk all you want, the facts here are that Indy is in. If you are truly a WillCo fan, then you know that everyone lost to Franklin and Brentwood. I follow Indy and the WillCo teams each season. Franklin and Brentwood have better talent and better overall coaching across the board year in and year out. Indy has some talent, but not near the talent that those two programs have, nor do Centennial or Ravenwood for that matter. I have seen Indy play several times this season, and saw many of the games in 2007 and 2008. I think Eubanks has done done a decent job in his time there. The Eagles have rebounded nicely after a rough 2008 season, and find themselves back in the playoffs. Speaking of playoffs, the thread is about Arlington and Indy. I know some folks in the Memphis area that tell me they are a good football team, but might struggle in the quad they were placed in. I do think that Indy will present some problems for Arlington, simply based on the schedule that Indy has played. I also know that Indy has gone toe-to-toe with some great football programs this year and if they take their best effort to Arlington, they could win this game. I would not be surprised at all to see Indy take this one. I wish them well and hope they get it done, then maybe we see Indy and Franklin go at it again, if Franklin gets by Overton. Good Luck Indy
  12. Well jrpfhs21, since you are from Franklin, please share what Franklin has done so far this year to impress anyone. They lost to the one team on their schedule that is worthy of discussion (Ooltewah). Independence has played a much tougher schedule than the Rebs have and survived thus far. The Eagles should easily be 5-1 right now if they had closed out Brentwood several weeks ago, and yes bruin faithful, you know you got lucky that night. I guess jr have you seen enough of the eagles to be impressed or not is the question. As for the game this week, I will go with my eagles. The lions of Columbia have had a great season so far, but all good things must come to an end sometime. Columbia is the class of their district this year and pretty much have a playoff spot locked up in their district so does this game mean a whole lot to them? While the eagles on the other hand need to win them all the rest of the way to secure a spot, or hope for a wild card slot. Get it done eagles!
  13. It just so happens I ran into an Indy parent at Publix this week and apparently the team did very well at Vanderbilt last weekend in their 7v7 tournament. He thought they had won maybe 8 games and lost 3, which I suppose for 7v7 is not too bad? According to the same parent, the team is starting camp next week and will scrimmage Page next week as well. He seemed excited about the team's summer and feels like this team could do much better than many think they will. I follow the team as much as possible and feel this team could do very well. As Palin pointed out, the run game and defense will be the determining factor, but from what I hear and read, Coach Eubanks has made an attempt to address those areas this offseason. And Palin, I did see the Thompson kid play last year in a couple of ninth grade games, and does appear to be a pretty good athlete. High school football is just weeks away! Hope all teams and all players have a safe summer camp! MJ
  14. Absolutley no love for the eagles of indy, which as a fan, i love to see. It is always a good thing to be looked over and underestimated. Mighty early, but this is my outlook. Brentwood Independence Franklin Ravenwood Hillsboro Centennial Most of my logic boils down to returning players or starters, "star" power for each team, key losses, coaching changes (Blade gone will really hurt the burros in my opinion). Someone on here stated that Brentwood lost a lot of players, which I believe they did, but they also have a few guys back that I know of that are good players. Indy has a lot of players back, maybe the most back in all the region. Franklin lost a bunch of guys across the front lines and the Qb. Best Rbs around though! Ravenwood is hard to figure out. Have a few guys back with new coach. The burros are still coachless and lost some very talented players. Will they withstand the brutal stretch of games in the new region? Centennial will not be the Centennial of 2008. Lost too many key players, who were very good! Yet another opinion for the thread. Good luck to all the teams. I love middle tennessee football!
  15. fbforme, Don't let the likes of hsfbfan1 lead you to believe that Independence is in turmoil. If you will notice, the man (Angry Parent) has way too much time on his hands. Most of the posting that goes on in the threads is his, which you will notice, and the man never has anything good to say about the team. The class of the program focus their energy elsewhere, miles away from coacht and the "few" that are here trying to give the program a black-eye. Fighting among the ranks? No, that is just hsfbfan1 talking to himself! As for the team, I believe they have had a productive winter for sure. Matter of fact, I just made a donation to the program this past week as part of their liftathon. The young man I donated the money to was very upbeat and excited about where he and his team are at this point of the year. Sounds good to me! And finally for the record, some were speaking of the talent level, that 2007 team was very good, but even then, they were athletically outmatched in many of their games. The 2008 team was nowhere near the caliber team as the 2007 team, and anyone in the stadium the past two seasons could know this. I know several of the kids that will makeup the 2009 team and I think they could do very well this year, so I and many others are excited about the upcoming season.
