  1. That's an angle I never considered; I must admit. Good valid points.
  2. That's pretty much where my comment was coming from. Shad felt a "need" to give Strickland many snaps as a Soph. taking Tyrek's playing time. Last year did Strickland ever not run the offense? Even during blow outs.. he took the snaps I believe. Last years team was incredible IMO.. except for...
  3. Sad part is that Shad took every snap he could from Tyrek when he was a Senior. Strickland got a bunch of game time as a Soph. at the expense of Tyrek and for no good reason. Blackman won't and can't be serious state champion contender until next year.
  4. Ok Park, I'm gonna leave you alone now. We both know Nashville doesn't have the ballers Memphis does. But the the best PG in the state (2013), in my opinion, is Corn Elder.
  5. You got on me for saying Bradshaw. Then you type Reginald Buckner?? You just talking rubbish and don't know nothing about Memphis. You can't know Memphis bball and put Buckner on this list even by accident.
  6. LOL.. I wouldn't fight with you terop. I was meaning the 2011 and 2012 (commits). Andre, Chris (really a 2005.. I'm kidding), Mayo (really a 2010, but I'll go with that), Steve Kasper. My point is.. for Parkrose to call out the PG spot is kinda funny. Ask any AAU coach in Memphis and they'll tell you that that is the position lacking depth as of lately in Memphis.
  7. Oh.. your saying that there is not a D1 point guard in Mid Tn? LOL, that's nonsense. So, the colleges coaches who have already signed three 2012's and signed at least two PG's (not including Deonte Alexander - JC to Lipscomb) from the 2011 class are fools. And Marquette, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Western Kentucky and Miami are stupid for recruiting Corn. Really? And now that I'm thinking of it.. tell me 5 PG's that signed to play D1 ball out of Memphis in the last two years. Take your time.
  8. Your comparing apples to oranges. To be fair, any true basketball fan knows that Memphis can only be compared to the likes of NYC, Chicago, Atlanta etc. Memphis is the best basketball city in America. Comparing Nashville to Memphis is like comparing Albany NY to Brooklyn or Evanston IL to The South side of Chicago or Orange County to Crenshaw in LA. But you knew this. So what's the deal? You slick bashed Corn Elder even though you said "I'm not hatin". Who are your top five PG's in the Mid-State? That list would have to start with Corn. He played Sam head up at AAU state and they battled. Sam had 16 and Corn dropped 14. Sam himself and the Y will tell you he can ball. It would then have to include Bradshaw, Montague and Chowbey (all committed D1 players). My list would have Devin Robinson, Daijon Williams, JeQuan Lewis, Nilon Hodge and Darius Thompson also. Everybody mentioned "played somebody" this past summer. What's your list? Don't you know Kelli that went to East Lit? Chill out... give your list.
  9. Who is the best point guard in the state to you?
  10. I TOTALLY AGREE. SPOT ON DAD.
  11. AAA- ANDRE HOLLINS (WHITE STATION) AA- KENDREN JOHNSON (MARSHALL CO) A- MARTIN SMITH (CLARKSVILLE) II AA- TOUGH ONE; CORN ELDER (ENSWORTH)1/3, AUSTIN BLACKWELL (MBA) 1/3 A BIG 1/3 TO CONOR McDERMOTT (ENSWORTH) MR. DOUBLE-DOUBLE II A- JOHN ROSS GLOVER (USJ) HANDS DOWN.
  12. YOUR RIGHT, I SHOULDN'T HAVE PUT THAT IN THE POST. I GOT MY QUARTERS CONFUSED.
  13. BLACKMAN IS A BALANCED TEAM. LEADING SCORES ARE COUSINS (SO) 142 PTS, THOMPSON (SO) 135 PTS AND ROBINSON (SR) 123 PTS. REBOUNDERS: PEAK (SR), ROBINSON (SR) AND COUSINS (SO). ASSISTS: THOMPSON (SO), JEFFERSON (SR). SO I WOULD SAY THEIR BALANCED. LAST NIGHT THEY TOOK PROBABLY 50% LESS SHOTS THEN THEY WOULD NORMALLY TAKE. IN THEIR LAST GAME AGAINST FRANKLIN CO. THEY PLAYED KIND OF UP-TEMPO AND COULD HAVE WON BY 30. I AGREE WITH YOU THAT THEY MISSED A LOT OF SHOTS AND MADE COSTLY TURNOVERS. HOWEVER, WITH THE LIMITED SHOTS THEY HAD, THEY WOULD HAVE HAD TO HAVE BEEN NEARLY PERFECT FROM THE FIELD TO BE COMPETITIVE. YOU CONTINUE TO SAY THAT THE BOYS DIDN'T COMPETE, SAVE COUSINS. TOTALLY DISAGREE. I THINK THEY WERE STUNNED AND EMBARRASSED MORE THAN ANYTHING (ABOUT THE STALLING-WHEN YOU PUT IT IN CONTEXT WITH THE PREVIOUS GAME AGAINST FRANKLIN CO.). SHOULD THEY HAVE BEEN READY? YES. QUIT... I DIDN'T SEE THAT AT ALL. SIEGEL ONLY SCORED 19 POINTS IN THE SECOND HALF. DOES DEFENSE NOT COUNT? YOU SAID "NOBODY ELSE COMPETED". REALLY?? YOU SAYING THAT THEY DIDN'T COMPETE; TOTALLY DISREGARDS THE FACT THAT THEY HELD SIEGEL TO THEIR LOWEST SECOND HALF POINT TOTAL OF THE SEASON BY FAR. YOU MIGHT WANNA GET A COPY OF THE FILM. SIEGEL SCORED FIVE TOTAL POINTS IN THE 1Q. HOW DID THAT HAPPEN? SIEGEL GOT ONE SHOT ALMOST EVERY TRIP DOWN THE FLOOR, AS DID BLACKMAN. THEY MADE SOME, BLACKMAN DIDN'T. THE BOTTOM LINE IS COACH WORTMAN WILL GET THINGS BACK ON TRACK. HE IS PROBABLY TAKING THIS HARDER THAN ANYBODY. BLACKMAN WILL REBOUND FROM THIS FOR SURE.
  14. I THOUGHT YOU SAID JEFFERSON WAS THE MOST STEADY PLAYER ON THE TEAM. (SEE ABOVE POST). NOW, YOU TOSS HIM UNDER THE BUS. SCARED? BLACKMAN DIDN'T LOOK SCARED AT ALL. LET'S NOT FORGET THAT SIEGEL ONLY SCORED 30 POINTS. 19 POINTS IN THE SECOND HALF. 19. THEY PLAYED GREAT DEFENSE. SIEGEL'S SIZE DID NOT MATTER. OAKLAND PROVED THAT. I THINK YOU HAVE OMITTED SOME GLARING FACTS BY DESIGN.
  15. Stat box says this kid #5 caught 7 balls for 122yds and 2td's. Is that right?
