  1. Add the safety from Ohio and we still have a chance with Michael Oher from Briarcrest...should come down to Memphis, LSU, Ole Miss, or UT.
  2. Michael Oher has been named USA Today First Team Offense... The Wide Receiver from Goodpasture I believe made 2nd team... UT still has a chance with Oher...I'd say his favorite team is UT, but I doubt that is where he goes.
  3. I played against Cottam's brother and my brother and Jeff have played AAU for a number of years...you've seen both, and its your team...I'm bias anyway.
  4. Looks like a great, great team...However, you might want to add Jeff Cottam of Germantown at TE...Mr. Football canidate (might have won, I don't recall)...and he's committed to UT...I know Warren is good and I've seen him play...but is he up to that calibur?
  5. The NBA drafts on potential...not skill right now. Thats why you don't go to college...I'm sure when Kobe was drafted and Jermaine O' Neil, Tracy McGrady, Telfair, etc...many of the players in the second round were better players than the lottery picks..however, the upside to Kobe and O' Neil is much stronger. A lot of the time...these players don't pan out...but then there are guys like Lebron James who are saying..."told you so" Why not go to the NBA, if it doesnt work out, use that signing bonus you speak of, and go to college...
  6. A very embarrassing situation and I hope TSSAA does something about these recruited kids...They are still on the team as far as I know...and I don't think it's fair that other D2 teams have to play those kids...Might not matter though, I doubt anyone stops Brandon Wright.
  7. I blame it on the two parties involved...the drunk fans and the childish players.
  8. Ron Artest is a trouble maker...you're talking about someone who wanted to sit out a portion of the season to rest cus he's tired from the publicity from his rap album. It's a shameful act and I feel sorry for the kids that were left crying after witnessesing grown men fight...did anyone see derrick tinsley come out of the tunnel with one of those metal brooms?
  9. That East line is huge...Cassius Vaughn had his coming out party week 0 last year as a sophomore...He's been banged up a little bit but It's pretty safe to say if you hold on to the ball and you stop him...you should be in it going in to the 4th quarter.
  10. You do not have the best offensive line in the state..nor even in 4A. Whitehaven has two guys that are on Tom Lemmings Preseason top 100 team! 2 of the top 100 players in the entire country! I would not count out Melrose...they have been destroying people this year, the truth is, ya'll have not played a school like Melrose yet, and Melrose has not played a school as fundamentally sound as ya'll either...Something has to give.
  11. I'm glad ya'll won. Even though I hate the Titans..I love the Cowboys...ya'll might have just knocked the Packers from Playoff contention...which is good cus the Boys need all the help they can get. You all looked amazing for that game...very prepared.
  12. Whoever loses this game will probably be out of the playoff hunt. Amazing because both the Packers and Titans were a sure bet to take a wild card birth. I think only one 1-4 team has ever made the playoffs. I think the Packers had some of the best odds at making the Superbowl maybe like 7-2?
  13. Good to see the Titans struggling...They deserve it. I hope the misery continues (sorry I'm a Memphian).
  14. The Dolphins also would have better receivers top to bottom had they been healthy... Chambers (who led the AFC in TD's last year) Boston (needs no introduction) and Booker. We include the injured Calico in this equation...so we might as well include the injured Boston.
  15. The Cowboys, Saints, Vikings, Redskins, Seahawks all have better receiving corps in my mind...
  16. P.S. It's going to be tough for Carolina to do real well when they only return two starters from last years team...and one of those two is playing a completely new position...its called left tackle, one of the most important in all of football. Since your predictions were before the season, I won't even get in to the Steve Smith situation which is murky at best. I think Davis will have a really bad season...he has never played a 16 game schedule and I doubt he can hold up...Your team is in trouble with Muhammad is your number one receiver. I'll say GB/Seattle and NE.
  17. How has parcells gone with a win very soon or not for a long time...heres some examples that disprove that. 1-Didn't sign a veteran RB like Duce Staley or Dillon (who asked to be traded there) instead he drafted Julius Jones. Garrison Hearst also comes to mind. 2-Speaking of Jones...how did he get him? He got him by trading away his first round pick for a third and a first round pick the next year...If he was trying to win now...why didn't he take that first round pick and run with it. He could have easily just drafted an impact player and let that be that. First rounders usually tend to play right away or contribute as opposed to individuals picked in third or fourth round. 3-He didnt get a veteran quarterback like Kerry Collins or Garcia. He specifically said he didn't draft Collins because he was afraid that it would interfere with the development of his other quarterbacks. Instead he traded for the future by taking Drew Henson who is no where near ready to play. 4-He didn't sign a veteran CB like Woodson, McKenzie, Winfield, Vincent, Taylor, Springs, McCallister (I can add more to that list)... You would think he would do that especially after deciding not to resign last years starting cornerback. This is a major problem for the team considering that Culpepper threw 5 TDs against us... 5-He continues to try and develop Brady James at OLB even though Dexter Coakley has gone to the pro-bowl more than once...You would think a second round player who has never started at LB wouldn't start over a veteran Pro Bowler. 6-He drafted a TE who he later cut...its interesting he cut a TE who would have definitely been behind Witten and Dan Campbell. Why would he do that? Unless he was thinking the kid could come in eventually and do well and unseat those 7-His other draft picks were a guard and a tackle. Considering the Cowboys have two all pros on their offensive line (you guessed it..they are a guard and a tackle) why would he do something like that unless he was building for the future. One of the lineman is now out for the season and the other one was inactive for the first game (doesn't sound like a gamebreaker to me). The Cowboys were around 6 million under the salary cap so I'm sure they guys. could have afforded to sign some of those players... I can go on and give other examples but I really just don't feel like it...I don't agree with that statement...nor do I agree the Cowboys will be 4th in the NFC East..they have beaten the Skins 12 of the last 13 meetings and they can easily do it again. The Giants look horrible...the achilles heal of the Cowboys is pass defense and that is what the Vikings and Eagles are great at. The Cowboys will probably go 10-6 with losses to the Vikes, Eagles (2), at Seattle, at GB, and go 2-1 versus the Skins twice and Ravens...although they could theoretically win both of those. That puts them at 10-6...although maybe they go 9-7...if they stay healthy they will be fine.
  18. We destroyed Louisville last year at the Ville...I'm more worried about USM (who has already won at Nebraska). We dont play TCU as well so that helps.
  19. I'm not goign to talk about the boy...but as far as the SEC not being better than the ACC...I laugh at that comment. The SEC does have the reigning national champions...and they also have more football championships than any other conference since the inception of the BCS system...double the other conferences actually (2-1)
  20. I believe he came back the next day, and plans on playing in the exhibition...being a Cowboys fan, I wouldn't exactly cry if he got hurt...
  21. I think the Cowboys coaching staff, the Houston coaching staff, and the Michigan Wolverines would disagree with you. I could name other teams that were vying for his affections as well.
  22. But is it enough to win the AFC and are you even the best in your division? I guess it depends on what you set your goals as: winning season, playoffs, afc champions, super bowl? P.S. The loss of McCareins will affect Mason, I believe last year was his best year and he's not getting any younger...I live Calico and Bennett a lot, but I dont think they are exactly solid week in and week out players...just my humble opinion. (Keep in mind, I dont care what the Titans do, I'm non bias...please remember that when responding).
  23. Tough to say what he will do...I am looking forward to seeing Antonio Burks play, his defense, speed, and hard work could easily pay off. Emmitt is scoring 20 or more points a game in these rookie games...I think the Grizzlies definitely need more help from the perimeter even with guys like Posey, Wells, Miller, etc.
