  1. What does their schedule look like for the next two years? A couple of solid wins could help build the program back up. I know they have Centennial week 1.
  2. I remember the days when Overton week was one of the most physical weeks of football on our schedule. We would try to find the hardest hitting kids and put them in I-formation and run of tackle over and over and over again trying to match the physicality that a Terry Anderson offense would bring. J. Stewart did a great job when he was OC keeping that physicality in his multiple offensive system too under Williams
  3. Really? Thats awesome! Huge plus right there. Especially when those kids have older players to look up to before they move up.
  4. I agree with Lopez, there is a lot of good that can happen over there. Open enrollment helps Middle school right next door and shares building. Probably needs to find a way to get a middle school program at East not split with other middle school. The stadium is great but needs turf. TPS was horrible. sharing with other sports and practicing on it makes field conditions horrible. The weight room well..... I guess we can call it a weight room East is on the map and kids know about it. So the right hire and the right resources could help the Eagles get back on top. They also have good rivalries with Stratford, Pearl, and Maplewood which helps the cash flow. Lopez just move on back down here and take it. Miss ya buddy
  5. Ill pray for sunny skies and 75 degrees. Good luck to the Ravens
  6. I just spoke to a Fairview coach. Giles came out in smoke stack and ran the ball well. The score to the Giles game is not a representation of how the game actually was. Stratford has a great shot to win this week but better get ready for some ground and pound. Giles knows who will get most of the carries for the Spartans and will come prepared. Good Luck to all MNPS teams this week.
  7. This is what I know. I know that the Bears are rolling with some young guys at key positions. I also know that MJ will come in with all their I's dotted and their T's crossed. Defensively they have the ability to get after it and are well coached. Offensively since moving to a more spread attack they are still having success and are putting points up. Hendersonville is better than what their record shows. Against Gallatin they were able to move the ball at will but just couldn't finish drives. I believe MJ has the upper hand in this match up but will have to play a solid game and not let the Commandos keep it close.
  8. While we were fortunate to field freshmen, JV and Varsity teams. It may be a good option for Metro to just go back to JV teams only 9th/10th graders. They did this a few years ago and I believe, had some success growing programs. Mainly because the 10th graders that didn't play on fridays were able to still get playing time which in turn kept them interested in football.
  9. If I were Pearl I'd stay in their heavy package and keep the ball out of Indy's hands. Indy is a team that improves every week. Pearl has a solid defense just don't get to crazy with things. Special teams will be very important.
  10. Here are my take aways from the game. 1.) Great atmosphere start to finish including the battle of the bands after the game. 2.) Pearl was able to run two or three formations with basic plays and was able to score. East made this a little easier because of mistakes on special teams. (Pearl I like your heavy set in wildcat) 3.) East would go single back or empty but would always look to go back side with Starling. He is a good player with a few good catches the game on slant routes. East had some great concepts on the 3 receiver side but never used them. Id like to see Starling get mixed into some of those concepts as we get closer to the playoffs. Rub routes, crossing routes, and screens would get him the ball a little easier than his one on one match ups. 4.) Both teams have solid defenses and both showed a lot of enthusiasm on the defensive side of the ball. Overall it was great to be back in Metro and be able to watch two teams I have a lot of history with compete. Thank you Coach Brunetti for the hospitality and Good Luck to both teams in the Playoffs.
  11. I am excited for this matchup. #1 Pearl is always a fun atmosphere and have coached on the opposite sideline there a few times. #2 I was on the original 2008-2009 East coaching staff that got things rolling again #3 Both Teams have a lot of talent and will be fun to watch and broadcast. Will Boiling and I will be there broadcasting live for the TNHighSchoolFootball.com game of the week and 104.5 the zone.
  12. It was actually 33-26 and in 2013-2014 the schedules changed and strength of schedule was a playoff tie breaker which means a 6A school did not benefit playing a 4A school. I can’t answer for the reason why after that. We’ve had this conversation before though FireBird
  13. I’m pretty sure Cane Ridge has been to the playoffs every year since 2012. I could be mistaken. They also beat Pearl in 2012 both in Varsity and for the Freshman City Championship. All that to say yes Cane Ridge has been good for a while.
  14. Press box and of course the concession stand. We will be there early .
