due to spring break being upon us we are moving fight nights to start on march 18th and will be every monday freestyle and greco practices will start march 19th and will be tuesdays and thursdays everything starts at 6

Fight nights will start March `11th at 6 pm at wilson central High school - open to anybody and any school age wrestler these will be every monday at 6 pm until next season starts up. Wrestlers will get 8-10 matches in each session, so well over 100 matches in the off season wrestling 1 day a week. other schools who are doing something similar please post here

Fight Nights have started every Monday at 6 pm at Wilson Central High School open to everyone last night we had 5 state champions in the room and a total of a combined 25 state medals come and get some quality mat time in.

i think it helps teams that cant fill all 14 weight classes but have multiple kids in the same weight class. It helps those kids who get pigeon holed in a weight class to get a chance to shine . ive seen plenty of programs who might have 2 really good heavyweights or 106 lbers who both have the talent to do well at state. I think it helps give kids and teams opportunities that they haven't had before. for example this year my 106 took 2nd, when he was out sick his back up went 33-2 on varsity. this kid could not bump up because the 113 was a state medalist. this also happens a lot at heavyweight.

Michigan has done this for over 15 years. can send 14 wrestlers to districts. with no more than 2 in a weight class and all of them can score. you have 14 scorers regardless. ive seen teammates wrestle each other for state titles. ive brought this up for years at the coaches meeting at the state tournament and nothing. this was the first year i did not speak about this because it will probably never happen

Members 453 Posted October 18 Wilson central JV and Girls Tournament december 18th round robin : send as many kids as you want to wrestlers are grouped in groups of 5 wrestlers who are close to each other close in weight and experience. so there are no particular weight classes that day so kids don't need to cut weight $8 per kid with a cap at $160 , anyone after 20 are free contact John Kramer kramerj@wcschools.com
