  1. Yameek Woods moved, but he was not "recruited". You are accusing Franklin of recruiting players, so answer the question! I want names, not just vague allusions to a "few players". And if it has stopped then why are you complaining? If we wanted to recruit, TJ Leach, Zach Patton, and Darius Steele would have been at Franklin. Because we could have asked them if they wanted to win or lose...
  2. Man, you couldn't be any further off-base... And, from the look of Centennial's front 7 y'all didn't spend much time in the weight room either.
  3. CHSTeamPlayer, I just started your own topic to vent.
  4. Here, "CHSTeamPlayer" I even made the thread for you specifically. You and all of Centennial Hopeful can converse about playing Franklin & Brentwood next year.
  5. I may not know much, but I do know how to read and this particular thread is labeled "Franklin?". Or am I mistaken? If I am mistaken please correct me. If Centennial wants to brag and prophecy about brighter days please start your own thread labeled "Centennial". But with all that said, "CHSTeamPlayer" until your high school 'walks the walk" please shut down the 'talk'. So do whatever you must to pass the time, but until next October you have no room to speak. To be completely honest, I think if you couldn't do it this year you are going to have one heckuva wait. Centennial graduated a ton of talented/ dangerous seniors this year, which in my humble opinion they under-utilized. I know you are all excited that you went to the 5A playoffs. But you did it beating the likes of Shelbyville. You and I both know that Centennial's worth is measured by its' success against Brentwood & Franklin. Thank you "CoachTForMe", because Centennial has forgotten that the Freshmen, Sophomore, and Junior classes dominated Centennial in both the freshmen & JV games. Where is this blessed future? But until next October, please talk amongst yourselves and fantasize until we come over to your stadium to extend the streak.
  6. C-C-CHS Nation, There is always two sides to every story... The story all summer revolved around the arrival of Coach Brian "lil' Saban" Rector and his entourage onto the Cougar's Campus. He rode into town from his sabattical at Western Kentucky upon majestic steeds of past success and promises of future championships. He preached a gospel to the oppressed football program at Centennial that promised the land of "milk and honey". He spoke of bringing these children out of the "red-headed-step-child" role they had played over the past 13 years. And in all reality, who could oppose him? He had taken the upstart Ravenwood Raptors to the state finals twice, and won once. He was THE coach Rector... Many believed him to be the messiah of Centennial football. He brought words like "Character", "Commitment", and "Courage", he brought new uniforms, to the CHS community he brought hope... They say patience is a virtue, well the wait was supposed to be over. Friday night August 28, 2011 revealed Rector to be a trickster Messiah as the other side of the story was shown to CHS nation. Once again Centennial is 0-1, and it appears to be the same song just a different verse. Regardless of a new look the Cougars still seemed sloppy on the field, and made the same mistakes that Centennial faithful have become accustomed too. I was under the impression that "Lil' Saban" was the remedy to these Friday night woes? Behind the guise of "Character, Commitment, Courage" many Centennial athletes littered the stands after Rector had called these 15, 16, and 17 kids "not-good-enough". Rector has taken groups of kids who chose to attend to CHS in order to stay with their friends; The same friends that they had played football with since the Franklin Cowboy ages and broke the kids up by declaring who was "in" and who was "out". Friday night found Rector's Cougars also deemed "not-good-enough", and after a loss to Overton High School (which nobody expected) "Lil' Saban" continued to assert his totalitarian regime... He proceeded to force the kids to line up across the goal line (in full pads & helmets) and tear into them over their performance for a solid 15 minutes. After which he made the broken team clean up the field (still in pads and helmets) while he retreated to his lair to marinate in his disgust. He sure dictated to those kids who was in charge. On Friday night Rector asserted his status as the "Mass'a" of Centennial High. Maybe Rector's C-C-C was meant to represent the "Cleaning Cougar Custodians"
  7. Well folks, once again another regular season is drawing to a close and once again its coming down to Franklin & Brentwood for the district title. Franklin has not won the district since 2006. Brentwood has won 4 out of the last 5 in this series. Does Brentwood's tough schedule leave them battle tested and proven, or does it leave them bruised and weary? Does Franklin's cup-cake schedule leave them soft and over-confident or does it leave them fresh and revitalized? Either way both teams have circled this game on the calendar for quite some time, and its finally right around the corner...
  8. Well it finally time to stop talking about "09" because it is suddenly upon us. The future is here... and what does it hold? We have the Franklin Rebels going up against the Wildcats of BGA for the first week of the season. Some have called this the battle for Mack Hatcher, but many might think of this game as THE high school versus THE private school. Its kind of odd being on this side of the argument...
  9. If that is the schedule, then I will predict Centennial to be 5-5. Although that prediction might be a tad bit to generous for a team starting a questionable sophmore at Quarter-Back and placing him into an offensive system that thrived on broken plays this past year. Also, if I properly understand the new system...If and when Centennial looses to Hillsboro (and they will) then they do not go to the play-offs. The Hillsboro game is the only game that "really matters" and I do not see them beating Hillsboro High anytime in the near future
  10. Here I am... I got another one to add to your nice little repertoire "Theoff-brand Offensive line Franklin bought at the goodwill store"
  11. This game can be summed up in one word "physical" and everybody in the entire state knows it. Neither of these teams have traveled this far by flying over and around opponents while finessing the opposition to death. Franklin and Oakland are the last two standing because they "beat" the teams they played on Friday night. Everyone in the mid-state region knows that is how you win games, and White Station and Ootlewah (and their respective regions) have seen and witnessed that cold-hard-fact. Toe-to-toe Man-to-man Round-for-round Pound-for-pound Punch-for-punch That is what this games comes down to, there can be no argument surrounding that point. I have floated across these boards all year long, I have seen my fair share of games. I have seen Franklin numerous times, and I have taken serious "interest" in their journey. I saw Oakland this past Friday night, and since then I have watched the Franklin-WhiteStation game. I have seen both team 8 days before they square-off. Listen and listen well Rebel Nation! The two games that took place last week brought something to my attention, these games also reminded me of previous conversations. I have listened to the endless praise that Franklin supporters have poured out over their beloved Offensive line. That is all well and dandy, I encourage you all to continue to take pride and refuge behind your over-achieving and scrappy Offensive line. Because you have victimized the Defensive fronts of Hillsboro, Ravenwood, and Hendersonville, but at the end of the day have you really accomplished anything? Are any of those teams considered Defensive-Line super-powers? Brentwood's defense gave almighty Franklin a good amount of problems, but once again Brentwood's Defensive line is not over-loaded nor is it the heart of their stifling defense (Brentwood's linebacking corps is responsible for that). When I saw Franklin play White Station the other night I saw Franklin undergoing problems again, but this time for another reason. Brentwood intensified its attack on Franklin's offensive line through great discipline and scheme, as where White Station exploited Franklin through the use of overwhelming athleticism. White Station proved that you can overtly alter Franklin's high-powered offense with speed, quickness, and power in the trenches (much like Independence did last year by placing Pettigrew & Consiglio at Defensive Tackle). Rebel Nation...Oakland is your worst nightmare. #62 and #78 from Oakland will haunt Franklin all night when Saturday rolls around. Those two players will make sure Franklin will not be able to run the ball between the tackles, because there is no way the off-brand Offensive line Franklin bought at the goodwill store will be able to stop those two from storming the backfield. The only way Franklin could even hope to keep Oakland's Defense honest would be to execute the quick passing game (3-step drops, shotgun, flare passes, screens) but after the way the hallowed Franklin Offensive line allowed White Station's Defensive front to get in Nichols' face and cause pressure I am not so sure if that will even work. Not to mention the way Franklin's receivers(#8 and #5) have been dropping balls all over the place. In Conclusion Franklin's Offensive line is an assembly of "Davids", who have not yet faced "Goliath". They have handled the bears and lions who have come against their flock of sheep, but they have not yet slain the Giant. Well boys and girls...Oakland is that "Giant" GET YOUR STONES READY FRANKLIN!!!
  12. I am right here...I never left, I just lost interest. I am sorry but I will not stoop to the point of "publicly" endorsing the Franklin Rebels (as every other losing team has done). Until next year, you all can keep kissing Donny Webb's "Oakland Patriots State Championship" ring, because he will never be able to replace it with a Franklin Rebel version.
  13. It is during times like these I find myself missing "BigDogDaddy". I saw him the other day playing with Centennial, why has the sentry and avenger of Franklin Athletics gone missing??? Who is the punter? He wears #55, so some body thought he was potential Linebacker material at some point in time.
  14. Aw you guys really miss me? No, nobody stole my screen name "Retired Rebel 64". It is just hard to get motivated when you no longer have a horse in the race. I have a hard time getting all fired up to write one of my high caliber posts. But if you all want one last parting shot from the master... I'm sure I can throw something together. At this point in the season (post-season) Teams will not be blowing each other off the map (unless you are an over-rated team from east Tennessee). Games in the month of November, are decided by what happens on 4th down: punts & conversions. Franklin has only played 2 whole (4 quarter) games this entire year McCallie & Brentwood. We all know the result, when you force Franklin into 4 quarters. all of a sudden they are not the same stunning juggernauts they seem to be in the 1st half. Franklin is weak and they have no heart. Franklin has defined themselves as the "Tin-Man" of Tennesssee High School football...no heart. We also know what happens when you play a game of "field-position" with the Franklin Rebel coaching staff. Playing a game of "inches & hidden-yardage" with Coach Clayton is like playing chess with a kid who only knows how to play checkers. When the game gets close, and the pressure is cranked-up the facet of a football team that feels this pressure the most is the "kicking-game". There is something about standing in the backfield in the fourth quarter awaiting the snap, when your team is needing a clutch punt that tests a kids resolve. Especially when you a weak team mentally and physically. It also does not help when you have a head-case punting the ball...when the pressure is on he is sure to shank a few punts (which will throw Coach Clayton into a storm of profanities). While Coach Hatfield is stirring a pot of "Franklin Rebel Kryptonite" (I LOVED that line "Kill-Ville)...I bet Coach Donny Webb is having night tremors re-living the defeat of his 2006 rebels. I can see Coach Webb snapping awake, and running downstairs to watch the 06' film again in the middle of the night (which gives him cold sweat. Would someone check Coach Donny Webb's fingernails next time you see him. Because this week we has an appointment with his old nemesis the "Wing-T". It would crush his poor spirit to see his precious #57, #48, #53 season ended as abruptly as his previous children Hampton, Anderson, and Frohawk. Would some one tell me how "Wizard Webb" himself is going to fix Franklin's D-End problems. Because so far this year it has been D-End by committee, I have seen #80, #41, #40(none of which have been relatively successful). He better get ahold of this issue, or else H'ville's "off-tackle" will destroy Franklin (just like Brentwood did earlier this year). FRANKLIN IS WEAK, FRANKLIN HAS NO HEART there you go rebels....I am done
  15. Its been a fun season, I was really looking forward to tormenting the Franklin Rebels on the boards of CoachT one last time this year. But I guess I will have to wait until next year. I can not lie I was salivating for the chance to have one last shot at the Rebels of Franklin. But now I must surrender my crown, and fall in line and support our region. Get em' Franklin & Brentwood!!!
