  1. Earlier today my brother and I went up to see his teammate Michael Underwood, #57, the player who was injured last week. He's able to take just a couple of steps, but none without assistance. He's currently still in Vanderbilt Hospital, and they are planning on moving him to Stallworth Rehab in the next day or so . Still unsure what his exact diagnosis is, the doctor's at the present time are saying he had a stroke of some sort while playing. Whether it was because of a contact injury, I guess we won't really know. He has limited functioning of his inner ear on the right side (only 16%), therefore making his already depressed motor skills, worse. He is in good spirits, however. He's been told he'll never play football again. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. It's very unnerving to see such an athletic young man having such a difficult time.
  2. I'm actually planning to take my brother up to see his teammate tomorrow- as far as I know he's currently in Vanderbilt's Stallworth Rehab Hospital. We know he had a major concussion and a neck injury, but that's all I really know. According to my Mom, yesterday he called to say he managed to take a couple of wobbly steps...a pretty big change from the ferocious player he was a week ago. Keep him in your prayers, guys. That being said...it's gonna be a close game, but Bulldogs are gonna take this one!
  3. Hickman will get better, they have no choice. You are correct, they have no support,Page can win this one by as many as they want. Hickman keep your heads up,better days will come. Firstly, Hickman does have fans-and the loyal ones are always around . I live 700 miles away, and I still listen to the games via the internet, as my brother is a starter on the OL. I've been too busy with work this week to really comment on this thread...I work weird hours. Also, I generally enjoy the banter on here, but I really didn't have time before now to put my two cents in, and besides, if I said anything about thinking Hickman had a chance, I'd have probably been mocked. Which is no fun. That being said ... The past two seasons have spoiled Centerville, and now that we're having to go back to the drawing board and work at it a little, no one wants to have anything to do with the team. It's obnoxious, and it makes me feel bad for the boys who were on last year's team and the year before, because now that we've lost a few games, we're automatically terrible. It's a young team, it's to be expected. It doesn't mean we're doomed forever, and I wish people could understand that. When the team hears the entire town talking about how awful they are, they aren't really inspired to change that...it's just the opposite - they sometimes start to believe what is said. I hope the rest of the season is better than the last two games have been. And if they're not? Well, I'll still cheer for the boys anyhow. Besides, it's hard to top my senior year at HCHS, in 2003...we were 0-10. That being said- Good job, Page. You guys played a really great game .
  4. Haterade...good one. I don't care if somebody comes here or anywhere and talks smack. Just better be hungry when it doesn't go down like predicted because there's going to be a table full of crow to be eaten. I've always been a fan of settling the game on the field. Talk is cheap and the people who are doing the talking make themselves look stupid when their predictions don't pan out. This applies to anything...not just this meaningless high school football game. I agree with you there, buddy. I try to avoid making predictions at all, really. So much more fun (well, sometimes...) to actually see how it plays out. 'Cause regardless...well, I'll always think "my" team is the best!
  5. This is why it's never a good idea to boldly prognosticate on a message board. Care to predict the outcome on any college or pro games this weekend? I need a little extra cash. Sheesh, 926, if you can't "boldly prognosticate" on a message board, where else can you? Isn't that kinda the point of getting on here? Everybody has an opinion and gets to voice it, whether it be right, wrong, or completely, horribly, terribly, ridiculously wrong, lol. I think you've been sipping the "haterade" a little too much! Good game, Panthers! The Dawgs just didn't play at all like they did a couple of weeks ago...I swear they're like two different teams sometimes. Oh well, soon it will be another Friday!
  6. Hickman played like a completely different team in their last game vs. Marshall Co., than they did in the previous game vs. Harpeth. They implemented new plays, and were explosive and dominating. This is going to be a really, really good game, in swamplike conditions! Hickman wins this one!
  7. Kinda surprising that this particular thread hasn't already been started. What do you guys think about this one?
  8. Well, it's 20-13, Bulldogs lead at the half. Guess maybe they did put it on their bulletin board! GO SHANE #78!!!
  9. Hickman County is actually 1-1. They won last week against Waverly Central.
  10. * removes straw from mouth* I love reading your posts!!! /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" /> I hope the boys don't read all of these boards and get discouraged-my little...well, er...younger brother seems to have his head screwed on straight at the moment, and I hope that all the rest of them do too. They're gonna head up north with a mission on Friday. GO DAWGS!!!
  11. Almost positive that he will...he was supposed to be ready to go by the playoffs. At least that was the talk at practice last week.
  12. Well with all due respect, and I mean that, it's not like you guys ran all over Hickman County...I mean, it's not like it was the closest game ever played, but you also didn't exactly trample us. Remember, you only scored 21 points...there's a reason for that. I'm usually silent on these forums, but seriously... /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" That being said, I don't think anyone should count out either LC or Hickman...though since the LC/HC game, no one seems to think that Hickman can do anything. Good luck in the playoffs!
  13. Crabtree is #58, and Heymans is #6. Tomorrow is going to be a fantastic game. According to the weather, the rain is supposed to let up around mid-late afternoon. It'll be muddy, but maybe it won't be pouring! East Hickman had better watch out...The Bulldogs have been practicing late and hard this week. Marcus is definitely not playing this week, and neither is Bubba, but Tylor Heymans is back and the entire team knows their playoff bid rests on the next two games. Good luck to both teams, but GO DAWGS!
  14. Maybe the HC fans are keeping quiet so that when we obliterate you guys, you're the ones who'll feel stupid... /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
