  1. Michael Bonfini suffered a dislocated and fractured ankle. Dr. Mathien was able to get the dislocation back in place on the field. If he had not done so, they would have had to cut on him at the ER. Kelly, the trainer. says that he will require surgery and have some plates and screws inserted into his ankle. The good thing is that he is only a sophmore. Thanks for asking.
  2. Also, no one seams to realize or notice how many turnovers Catholic forces. Every game I have been to there has been numerous fumble recoveries and interceptions. That is one of the intangibles that most people factor into the equasion. I think that Catholic is just a very well rounded team, and Pemberton pulled a few surprises this year especially in the playoffs. He went for 2 point conversions all year. It burnt us last year because we missed an extra point against AE, and who would have thought of going for an onside kick to open up the second half of a championship game. The game was way to close for that. That took a "set", if you know what I mean. I think that alot of teams this year simply got out coached.Give Pemberton his due.
  3. Thank you! There are some people with some class on this board. Sorry to say, they are not from K-Town.
  4. Your wrong, The Williamson's go to church with me. They went to Saint Mary's in Oak ridge for a while. Older brother choose to go to Central to play basketball. Ninety percent of the team is Catholic. By the way, I don't need any kool aid to drink, thank you very much.
  5. If that is how they want to spend their booster money, that is their business. I just wish that all you Catholic haters and bashers would just grow up. This is a class program, coaches, and a great group of parents. My daughter went to Catholic schools from kindergarten thru 12th grade at Catholic. I would not have done it any other way. The sacrifes my husband and I have made were more than worth it. There are no superstars on this team, just a bunch of great kids that have grown up in the Catholic school system all their life, I am tickled to death for them. Gp Irish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Just got home from the Boro. What a great day for the Irish!!!!!!!!! Great game , I knew it would be some hard hitting. Football is a contact sport, and these kids know this going into it. Congrats to Mitchell for a great season. I have known all year long that these kids would make it here. Catholic is such a well rounded team with no superstars. They just play so well together and love each other so much. I am so proud of them and their acomplishments this year. Congratulations to Alcoa and Maryville also. I am so sorry for the Bonfini kid. I was right in front of where it happened. It did look pretty gross. The stadium erupted when he returned from the hospital in the fourth quarter. Hope he can rehab before soccer season. Thanks Coach Pemberton for bringing the gold ball to the Bluff.
  7. Congrats to Daniel Hood Knoxville Catholic High School. 3A Lineman of the year. One more game. Let's do it!
  8. First off, I am an Alumni parent who still enjoys going to all the games. We have played lots of opponenets from all over the state. When my daughter started Catholic, we were still in Division II. I have to say that this is the first time that I have ever witnessed such blatant disregard for other individuals. I got there 30 minutes early and found that Catholic sitting section was full from the oposition. We were told that our cheerleaders were asked to move from their assigned roped off section. This is where our student section and our pep band sits. I am unclear if it was fans or WH cheerleaders who made the request. That should have been a clue early on that you are sitting in the wrong section. Granted Catholic did not do their job and rope off sections with caution tape. Not that it would have meant anything to this crowd. I witnessed several displays of blatant disreguard for the welfare of our players on the field. I heard one gentleman scream repeatedly, 'RIP HIS @#$$$$# HEAD OFF!!! That is real classy and christian like. He was referring to #22 Dorian Cozart. We have played Livingston Academy many times and always had very good times with fans and players. Afew bad apples in the crowd does not sterotype us into a bad group of people. Drinking goes on everywhere, not that it is right, but I have to say that we have a very good fan base and our players and coaches are a class act, always. I am sorry that your team did not win, but I think that Catholic wanted it more, and proved that the second half. Needless to say the same gentleman who was screaming the first half, did not have much to say the second half. I feel that it was a very good ballgame and both sides should be proud of their team. Sad to hear that you cannot support us at State. Sour Grapes.
  9. I think that people sometime forget that there is no "I" in the word TEAM. Players are nothing if it were not for the rest of the team. This board is not to bash these teenagers. They love what they are doing on the court regardless if they play at the next level, which in most instances they will not. Catholic is out of the tournament this year, but my husband and I are coming Friday to see all of the championships games. Out daughter graduated last year, but we just love the game of volleyball. We want to see some good competition, regardless of who wins. Does anyone know whether Sara Fowler's parents ever post on the board? My daugher and Sara are sorority sisters, and are playing intramural volleyball together at UT. Though I would look them up Friday, if they are coming to the matches. I hope to see Greenbrier and Stone Memorial fight it out to the end. I know it would be an awesome match. See ya'll Friday in the BORO.
  10. Weather may now be a factor. Going to rain pretty good Friday, making for a very soggy field. It will be a contest of who can hold on to the ball, because they are both running teams. Hopefully, Catholic will keep the field covered before the game Friday. Catholic's field usually fairs pretty well in rainy conditions. It should be interesting
  11. I was at the game Friday night. Longmire is an excellant quarterback, but his protection on the front line has got to be better. You get him out of the pocket and he cannot find his receivers. Any kind of rush on him and he self-destructs. He most certainly is a gamer. The defense, is a different story. I believe that I could run thru the holes in the defense. I believe that this is the most important thing that needs to be addressed. My observation only.
  12. That is hysterical, Photoman. You nailed it right on the head. We need you to prognosticate for us the rest of the season.
  13. Also I forgot Matt Pfleger - University of Dayton, Dustin Tait - University of Buffalo, Garrett Trousler - Gardner-Webb, and Sean Beeler - University of West Georgia
  14. All I can say is WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Double overtime, Catholic went for 2 and made it. Catholic 21 Baylor 20. Talk about leaving it on the field. Way to go Irish!!!!!!!!!!!! Next up Anderson County, I would expect standing room only. This game will probably decide who is the all out district winner. People, you are crazy if you miss this one.
