Are you a coach? Do you spend your extra time doing anything for these kids? These kids will play their hearts out the best that they know how and I am proud of them no matter how the season turns out. Yeah, they make mistakes, but they will learn from them. Give me your idea on how to take a team with 16-18 players from not winning a game in years to a District Championship contender. These kids have been quit on two or three times by the coaches in the past. The coaches they have right now, spend every extra minute they have with these kids and they have played some decent football this year with the numbers they have. If you have any better ideas on how to build Rome in a day, then why don't you offer your assistance to the coaches and make a difference with these kids. Sometimes, you do the absolute best you can as a coach and the kids don't do what you instruct them to do all the time. Oakdale plays with what kids they have and you can't always do what you want to do as a coach when you don't have the numbers. When you coach a large team with 30 to 40 players you can properly make changes in a game to teach the varsity players what they are doing wrong. Getting pulled from a game for screwing up will make you learn what you have done wrong in a hurry, but Oakdale does the best it can do with the kids they have, and it is hard to pull a key position player from a big district game when you don't have anyone else who can come close to playing that certain position. I watched this game, too, from the bleachers and I am not a coach at Oakdale school, but a parent who stands behind the coaches and lets them do their jobs. At least Oakdale don't go to other counties or other local schools and recruit other kids to play like some other teams do. Oakdale plays with the players they have and the mistakes they make are not always the coaches fault. This program will turn around because these coaches believe in these kids and these kids do respect their coaches so unless you are an Oakdale coach, you need to back off of the coaches and let them do their jobs. If all you want to do is gripe about the coaching, you should offer full time assistance to the coaches or stay at the house.
