Me and Hooter both are stating facts and you just will not admit that Home Court is an advantage. If Morgan Co Schools had to travel year after year to Oneida or Jellico they wouldn't like it. Every team should have a chance to host and when their turn comes around if the choose Wartburg thats OK, but to never have a chance to host is not right. I would love to travel 5 mins instead of 40 mins to watch some good basketball.Heck,I remember back in early 90's Oneida hosted the District Tournament and some of the Morgan Co. people were so upset that they brought their on drinks and popcorn to keep from spending money at the concession stand.

There are currently 7 teams in the Eastern Conf of the NBA that are playing above.500 ball. The overall home record of these 7 teams is 142-61, the overall road record is 96-93. The Miami Heat are 25-3 at home and 16-11 on the road. At every level, playing at home is an advantage. If I was Wartburg I would be tickled pink to host every year. There will be upsets such as Sunbright beating Wartburg this year in the Boys Championship, but It is a lot harder to do it on a teams home floor, and you have a better chance of upsetting a better team if you are playing at home. I would say that almost every team at any level shoots a higher percentage on their home floor where they practice everyday.

Coach Layne is a very solid and well mannered coach, but I didn't say Yaden was perfect, he just was provoked by a complete idiot who was there just to show his butt. Yaden probably should have handled it better, but how much could any of us take if someone showed up at our job and mouthed us non stop.

Well i sit and watched the guy direct almost everything he yelled (and he yelled alot)at the coach. You can only take so much of someone in your ear. heck i wish coach yaden had whooped his butt! so as usual we have 2 different stories. I have a lot of friends at Wartburg and I think you guys have a great coach,players and fans but this guys main goal was to ride our coach and not cheer his team. But i still say let the 2 adults settle it at midcourt so we all can watch.

Congrats to Wartburg, you guys earned it. No excuses coming from me we were just outplayed,again. But the guy who kept heckling our coach is an Idiot. You expect something like that from kids, but not from a short,fat,bald guy who looks like he couldn't spell "Ball" let alone play the game. I wish him and coach Yaden could have just went at it at halftime(would have been the best halftime show of the tourney). I am disappointed in the Admin.,and law enforcement for letting the guy back in and then they let him stand right down at the end of our bench. (Must have been someones relative), I know there is alot of good fans at Wartburg but this guy isn't one of them. Hope to see you at the Boro!

Wartburg does show up and play when it counts, that is why they are very successful in boys and girls ball. But don't tell me there is not a such thing as home court advantage. They may be Central high but that is Central High School of Morgan Co. not Central High of District 4. If they travel well then let them travel to Oneida and Jellico every few years. Wartburg does a great job of hosting, but as I said before if everyone in Morgan Co. had to travel to Oneida or Jellico every year they would be upset. I remember back in the 90's Oneida hosted the tourney and some of the Morgan Co schools and parents were so upset that they brought popcorn and snacks with them to keep from supporting the consession stand at Oneida. Sometimes I think it would benefit Oakdale, Coalfield, Sunbright,Oz, to catch Wartburg on a neutral floor, but until they open their eyes and ask for the tourney to be moved around we will never know. One last thought, Wartburg girls and Oz split in the regular season, each winning at home. But Oz had to play them at Wartburg in the Championship, could it have been a different outcome at a neutral site? I bet Oz would like to have had that chance.

I really think Wartburg does a fine job of hosting, lights and clock issues could happen anywhere. I think the real issue is that it would be nice if Jellico and Oneida would be offered a chance to host since they have enough seating. It gets old knowing that you have to go to Wartburg every year. Lets face it, if Morgan Co. School had to travel every year to Jellico or Oneida they would not be happy.

Hopi, I will give you guys credit, you played good enough to win and that is all you can ask kids to do. Oneida needs to get better on the Offensive end. We stand to much which makes us a easy team to defend! But congrats to Oz you are playing for the Championship! With that said, I will say that it is much easier to swallow awful officiating when you are on the winning side of it. The LARGER ref from last night has killed Oneida everytime we have him. I don't know if he has something against our school,coach,fans or players but it is clearly there. He has a mad at the world attitude and is just not a good official. If he is doing for the money(and thats what it appears like since he seems miserable all the time)we at Oneida would pay him double his salary to stay away from our games!

I am sick, sick of having the same ole refs that are awful everytime out. I not sure they cost Oneida the game, we done a lot of the damage ourself. 90% of the refs in 4A are awful, And before someone gets on here and says that I should get certified and try it, I will tell you up front I would not be a good ref, but I do have enough common sense not to make an idiot out of myself like most do. If you are to OLD, Fat, or just not capable of doing the job, please give it up!

Gonna be a wild final 4. Wartburg has only lost to Oz, but Oneida had them on the ropes both times, Oneida, Oakdale snd Oz have all split with each other. Play this 4 times and you could have 4 different winners. But you only get one chance so you better lace um up and get it on!

Hey 4aFan, i'm sure your a swell person, but please quit picking Oneida. Lol! Oneida had a 12 pt lead and Coalfield battled back and tied it with 30 sec left. Oneida got a layup and 2 free throws to win by 4. Geez, we really tried to give it away.

Raw crow, I've had that a few times!lol. As for the emotional coaster I did have a few mood swings here and there, but I only blacked out once. Oz had us, they had the lead, we couldn't score, our bigs were foul trouble, they had mojo on their side and decided to try and hold the ball with about 4 mins to go. Big mistake on their part, let us sneak back in and they couldn't get started again when they needed to. Oz will be back with a vegeance,count on it! I still cannot imagine how Coalfield beat Oakdale, would like to have seen that one. But it is District 4 and strange things do happen.
