  1. Here is what I know about the situation. 1. S'town and LCHS have not played since an incident at S'town several years ago between Coach McBee and Mickey Dunn. Coach McBee called out some LCHS fans for throwing ice on the floor and Mr Dunn decided that he would side with the students / fans that were throwing the ice and there was a heated exchange between the two. 2. The teams did play in the 21st district reunion tournament held at LCHS a few years back. The schedule worked out where SHS played two games in one day. Of course LCHS just happened to be the opponent for the second game. 3. Mickey Dunn told his coaches that as long as he was in charge that LCHS would not play SHS. Before you dispute, ask some of your former boys coaches. 4. Coach Clark becomes head coach and he calls SHS wanting to schedule games. SHS response was sure lets sign a 10 year contract to play a home and home. LCHS refused - LCHS had rather pick and choose when they play. SHS stance is that if we can't play every year we will not play at all- LCHS seems to only want to play when they feel they have the better team returning and SHS has been hit hard by graduation. Just play every year and let the chips fall where they may! 5. Richland Christmas Classic - Why would we allow someone else to get the huge gate if SHS and LCHS can't work the issue out to play home and home? 6. As for the comment about being afraid of the competition - SHS plays bigger schools every year, win some lose some. See last seasons Christmas Tourny at Father Ryan - Stratford, Blackman, Mt Juliet all AAA schools. SHS plays Lewis Co every year, Spring Hill every year, Loretto every year when they were AA, Lincoln Co, David Lipscomb to name a few from the last couple of seasons. 7. If LCHS really wants to play - play every year stop trying to dictate scheduling to their advantage. Dispute, discuss all you want - LCHS is the reason there is not a home and home with SHS. As an SHS fan, i used to want the teams to play. I could care less anymore. Our sucess on the court speaks for itself!
  2. Where did they go? Did they transfer or just decide not to play basketball? Injury ?
  3. I know that S'town beat you - I know, I know Perry Co had to wear goggles. That should not have hurt you unless you have to look at the ball while you dribble. Wayne Co had your number last year and they have most of their key players back as well I know that C'wood lost alot - but on the nights when Gobble goes off they will be tough to beat as well. Look you guys ( Perry ) are having a good summer, but wins or losses in June will not make any difference come Feb and March. Right now teams should play to get better, develop younger kids- not worry about how many games you are winning and who you are beating. Don't get me wrong, Perry is a good team and I really enjoyed watching them play last season - its way too early to talk about winning state or going undefeated in the district.
  4. I am not sure that Perry County will even be the best team in 12A-
  5. Collinwood 83 Hampshire 65 Whew..... much closer than it should have been. I hope we got all that out of our system before Friday
  6. Don't read too much into the 5-6 record over the last 11 games. Loss to Stratford Loss to M'boro Blackman Loss to Mt Juliet Loss to Spring Hill There are no teams of that caliber on Collinwood's schedule.
  7. A fun game to watch - Summertown played at a hectic pace, while subbing in 5 at a time for a large portion of the game. I was a little suprised that C'wood didn't try to control the pace a little more. I thought fatigue played into C'wood's poor free throw shooting.
  8. Collinwood by 20+. After the thumping I saw delivered on Tuesday - Can anyone beat them?
  9. Loretto is much improved. They have close losses to Culleoka and Lincoln County. Collinwood is 5 - 0 and has too many weapons. Loretto keeps it close for a while, Collinwood pulls away in the second half - 75- 58.
  10. Skeeter, you are correct. It was a 1 pt game, and everyone in attendance knows that Collinwood outplayed Cully. Cully played like it was a Region tournament game, Collinwood played to get better.
  11. What are everyone's thoughts on this region matchup? Collinwood returns almost everyone from last season and are 2 - 0 on the young season. Cornersville has had some key injuries, but are still very well coached. Cornersville may be one of the few teams that can come close to matching Collinwood's inside game. I will take Collinwood in this one as Thompson, Gobble and crew will prove to be too much for Cornersville to overcome, 65-52.
  12. Bubba Clifton - Summertown High School point guard.
