  1. Woodcock is probably better shooter than West but he does not make his teammates better. In fact, I been to games this year where Clay was better with him on bench. Kid from RBS and West both more important to their teams. Like I said earlier, Woodcock first team but not Ione of top 2 players in district in my opinion.
  2. I can’t agree with you on Kimes. He plays hard and really good defender but offensively challenged and lets emotions get best of him at times. We will see how coaches vote but I see him no better than second team. I do agree with others....
  3. Have to agree with summary of Trousdale Co. They have athletes but out of position on defense just about every possession. I am sure difficult bunch to coach judging by reaction some of kids have when coming off floor. Here is the way I see district tournament playing out: 1. Clay County—easily got the best team in district. Can go very deep into bench if needs to and kids expect to win. 2. Monterey—West kid might be best player in district. He makes everyone on team better. 3. RBS—if big kid can get some help this team is not bad. He is probably district MVP and don’t tell me he is not on top team in district, I understand. 4. Gordonsville—not real familiar with them but by all accounts descent enough to make region tourney.
  4. Nice summary. My 2 cents is that Upperman has more players than Macon. Macon probably has the better player(s). Larry and Dana both do good job. If Macon gets lead upperman cant dictate pace like they did at Baxter. Only 2 teams in district that can win sub state game.
  5. After watching top 3 teams in district several times this season the only conclusion I can come up with is our district is down from last several years. I do not think we have state tournament winner in our district. Before everyone goes into a rage, I will be pulling hard for the 2 teams that advance from region tournament. I just think after you get by first 2 scorers on each team there seems to be a big drop off. Hope I am wrong.
  6. After Cookeville result last night I might have been wrong about 3rd comment. I will now place White County in second in district. I do look for Cookeville to beat them at least once this year if their coach will start coaching and quit whinning about every call. Lastly, UCSportsfan I have forgot more than most on here know, especially you......Go big blue!!!
  7. White County be lucky to finish 3rd in district, much less third best team in state. I am not knocking them either. They have won some big games early.
  8. I was told by a parent not playing any tournaments on break. I also have pocket sized schedule that only shows boys playing. So I assume no games until January 4.
  9. Marsh is best player in district and it’s really not close. I will admit I have not saw the kid from Trousdale play so maybe I am wrong. As far as teams go Clay County has a very good, deep team. I watched them play Jackson County and thought they would be better than they played. In my opinion, they did not share the ball and tried to much one on one. I am sure Coach Edwards get the kinks worked out before tournament starts. Everyone else playing for second and seems that district is well balanced.
  10. It's a shame if tech does not offer her, she is a winner. Unfortunately tech probably look over her and get some girl from Georgia that probably should be on the track team. I am so fed up with these college coaches only wanting to recruit "athletes". Note to college coaches---attitude, character and ability to do whatever it takes to win count more than how fast one can sprint or how high a person can jump. I will not rant anymore. Way to go Courtney!!!!!!!!!
  11. I was not able to go to game so not sure what happened. While I thought jc would win I was not shocked. Hard to go on road and win this time of year. Don't be mad cause I called out your other post. No hard feelings and good luck to our district teams rest of way
  12. Clay really struggled in last 6 quarters so I say van burden wins. I too believe 6a wins rest of games. I will say van buren by 18, Jc by 8, Pickett by 26, Monterey by 24.
  13. Eased up second half. Had 73 at the half. I am sure Brent was not pressing second half. Probably could of been a lot worse,
  14. Monterey has definitely been the worst of the 5 teams that use to make up district 7a for a long time. I would probably agree with Clay being the most successful for the period of time you have listed. I know you are a homer for Pickett Co. but I don't think they have been any more successful than Jackson County if you only include years that Jackson County was in the district. In fact, you could argue that Jackson County has been more successful since rejoining the district in 05-06 season. I believe Jackson has made it to the state tourney since then and I am pretty sure Pickett has not. I think both have been to couple sub state games and lots of losses in region semifinals. Not trying to argue, just wanted to make a point. Anyway good to see Monterey compete. I do think if they run into Jackson County in semifinals they could get upset.
  15. He is a player. Should win Mr. basketball in A. Makes everyone around him better in addition to scoring all those points.
  16. I have Dawson Abbott from Pickett co. Has MVP of the district. I wanted to see Monterey play before I posted my opinion. Big guy is a nice offensive player but he was not even on the floor during most of 4th qtr. I think has a coach you have to do more to get ready for Abbott than any other player in district. I also believe district tournament is wide open. Monterey should win it but they are not a dominating team and can be beaten by anyone after they get to a neutral floor. Looking forward to tournaments.
  17. I totally disagree. I do think she is a good high school player. I just don't think she is one of best 3 in Tennessee. I really don't think she is the best player on her team or the district. She struggles against girls that are close to her in size and only an average shooter. I don't mean this in a bad way toward her. I wish her only the best and am a fan of their team.
  18. I agree for most part. Like I have said before I would probably vote Courtney MVP. I do believe Pickett district record probably be the same without her thus far. Maybe clay would have beaten them??? As far has the freshman thing goes I agree. If they are the best player should not matter. I watched Clark range again Tuesday and I am of the opinion freshman twins are their two best players. One or both should be their team MVP.
  19. Looks like Clarkrange is gonna win the district. Interesting thing will be who is the MVP of the district. I have saw Clarkrange play multiple times this season and the Monday girls have taken turns being the best player on the nights I was watching. I don't see either of them getting the award though because some just won't vote for a freshman. Pickett County has several talented players but I guess I would vote Prichett MVP of district. She can play any position and seems to be the rock for a very talented team.
  20. Kid can flat play. By far best player in middle tennesee in A division.
  21. Mm without a doubt the smartest thing ever to come out of your mouth. Haha. District tourney gonna be fun
  22. Don't count out Jackson county. Best I remember that dominated Pickett co. In only meeting this yr
  23. I heard it was the second time in past few months he has been caught
  24. No argument here. I think clay and goodpasture are best two teams in region. Personally think clay has best player but goodpasture probably the better team. I do believe that whoever the two teams are that advance from 4a region will probably both make it to state. Think team from west wins state but I will be pulling for our local teams.
