Bill Slatten also coached at Byrdstown/Pickett County and Lebanon. Won over 800 games coaching both the boys and girls. At one time he held 2 of the 5 longest winning streaks in Tennessee girls history, 65 and 79 games respectively. Was 199-4 in 6 years, 1952-57 as girls coach at Sparta. Won over 90% of the girls games he coached in, there is your history lesson. It is in the Hall of at White County High if you want to see for yourself.

The Basketball Coaches Association of Tennessee and the TACA will have their all-star game Saturday March 13th at 11:30 a.m. at Middle Tennessee Christian School in Murfreesboro. Players wiil be added that may still be in the tournament. Also BCAT Is holding their unsigned senior games at 9 and 10. their are 40 that have signed up to play in that game which is the limit (no walk-ups can participate). This is looking to be a great day of basketball in the Boro with these and then the State Finals!!!! Who has applied? Timeframe?

Are they going to stay local with the search or open it up to coaches outside the area? I know of at least one coach with a state championship and multiple state appearances that has applied(will not mention name). only the people at Oak Ridge schools know what they are looking for and who they are looking for.

Does the quality of a coach depend on the number of state tourney appearances in the resume or does the coach have to win a state championship? What is the criteria for being considered a great coach?

He also coached at Cleveland High for a couple of years, leading them to a sub-state.

I have to agree with Judgsmales, the best class a team that I have ever seen is that 1997 Perry County team. They had size, speed, quickness, and great shooters. Seems like they also brought in off the bench 6'8, 6'5, and some very quick guards. I remember the championship game they were in, Columbia Academy packed a tight zone to stop Haston and Perry hit about a dozen 3 pt shots. They also defended very well. But did they really average a 30 point margin of victory in the state? If so that is absoulutely unheard of.

The Basketball Coaches Association of Tennessee will have its first annual all-star game this Saturday March 21st. The game will be held in Murfreesboro at the new Middle Tn. Christian School Athletic Center. Game time is 12 noon. There will be a roster posted later this week for the East and West teams. The line-up will be loaded with some of the top high school players from across the state. The girl's game was great last Saturday 95-93 West won. The talent in that game was amazing. Look for this game to be just as exciting. Admission is only $3 Should be a great way to kick off Championship Saturday!!

Does that make him a bad coach to have a few losing seasons? I had forgotten that Bruce was at Culleoka. But I am glad that I was reminded on here. He had several great teams at Perry County( the 97 team was awesome) and judging by the previous records posted here on coacht, he has had an excellent run at Culleoka. How long has he been at Culleoka? I know that White County has a fine tradition but every program has some down years look at Pickett County and White County this year.

My questions are who is their coach and how well coached are they? Are they very skilled players inside and out? They obviously play solid on both ends since they have won 22-23 games. How many seniors do they have?
