  1. Lets remember that before the Fury 95 joined the Fury Organization they were the Chattanooga Impact. I think the record against Worth 95 has been very decisive. Ok guys, yall win. Fury95 is head and shoulders above everyone else in 14u. I was just giving an opinion. There are other teams to look out for in 14u besides those 2 that might have a say in this. I thought you might want to see what happens before you boast. I didn't know I would hurt peoples feelings. But yall win. Jeeees!
  2. I have not but hear some good things about them.
  3. I agree totally and cannot wait for the chase to begin.
  4. And I am sorry if we were talking about Fury96. I thought we were talking about Fury95 being head and shoulders above everyone else in 14u. I wasn't talking down about anybody for going to ASA Nationals. I believe its most teams goal to make it. I was just saying there is more motivation to chase a birth at this age and up. Just voicing my opinion on the subject. After all,we are talking about 14 year old girls. Not parents, coaches, egos or resumes.
  5. Have they played more than once? Like I said in my previous post, I only saw them play once and it was very competitive game. Not a blow out. So, until Fury blows out Worth or they beat them consistently, I do not see them being head and shoulders above them. Also, Worth has only chased an ASA berth once and made it, with a little help. Finished middle of the pack I believe. But they are a different team from then. As far as Gallatin is concerned, I believe every team has a bad weekend every now and then. Worth has also added more pitching, hitting and speed. They have more speed than any team I have seen their age. So I guess both teams are a little different than last year. Only head to head will decide this. I believe you will see more from Worth this summer in East Tn as they are chasing a birth this year. Because at this age and up, there are far more reasons to make it to ASA Nationals other than to say you have been there.
  6. I would not say Fury95 is head and shoulders above everyone else. The only game played between them and Worth95, that I know of, was a 1-0 game in extra innings. It was a great pitching and defensive game. But they are a great team and are the ones to beat in 14u. But a big gap? I would have to disagree.
  7. There are 4 available berths in 14u for TN. Not sure about results being posted.
  8. Thanks /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  9. What time is the Summertown/L'burg scrimmage?
  10. We also wish Lauren a speedy recovery from Lawrence Co. And I feel for Kayla. Accidents do happen and I personally have seen and heard of way too many head/face injuries over the years of being involved in fastpitch softball (This is about the 10th time and 4th time in the past 6 months). The ball jumps extremely fast off these latest technology bats, and no matter how quick your reflexes are, things like this will happen. I urge all parents, coaches and players to PLEASE wear a face shield when in the infield. It is mandatory for my children and our travel teams. The kids are sometimes ridiculed for it, but they are safer for it and become numb to it in a very short time. They do not even notice it after a few practices and the "Game Face" does not even obstruct their view, it even helps them keep their head down and focused on ground balls without fear of being hit in the face on a bad hop. This mask does not protect the whole body, as nothing will protect against all injuries, but does protect a very vital part of the body where very serious injuries can happen in a flash. I do not push this brand and do not work for them, it's just I haven't tried any other brand.. So, for those of you that make fun of young ladies wearing these protective masks, I want you to remember times like these and make every effort to make things as safe as possible for our athletes. I hope I did not offend anyone, that is not the intention of this post. I hate to see things like this happen, and maybe this post will help eliminate a few future accidents. Good luck to Lauren,Kayla and the Warren family. Good luck to everyone this season and be SAFE
  11. E O Coffman (Lawrence Co) should be pretty good this season. They have a pretty solid pitching rotation with, I believe, 5 travel ball players. They should be able to hit pretty well in the top 5 or 6,but not sure about the rest. Defense will need some shoring up from what i have seen. They lost a great leadoff hitter with blazing speed from last year and 1 other good bat, but thats all. They were pretty solid last year only losing to Summertown, who was stacked with a lot of 8th grd talent. They will definitely need some help from the 7th graders this year. They only had 14 or 15 tryout. WOW!!! But they still should be the strongest team in Lawrence Co. As far as travel vs league or school ball, I believe not only are your travel ball players getting a lot more reps, but the coaching is a lot more experienced and organized than school or league. The practices at most travel teams, like the Comets, Worth, etc., are a lot more intense, organized, planned and detail oriented in instruction and teaching the game than most, not all, school and league practices.
