  1. The Owls will make the trip over to Red Bank today has district play starts up. I believe Atkins is throwing for the Lions and Baugh for the Owls. tomorrow is a toss up, i believe Walden is still out with a cut on his hand, and The Owls have 5 guys who are capable. What is everyone's thoughts?
  2. i just saw the longest game i've ever seen at the high school level. Ooltewah beat Walker Valley in an 11 inning game. It was an OUTSTANDING game. what's the longest and/or greatest game any1 has seen in person at this level?
  3. Congrats to South Doyle. 2009 Ooltewah Invitational Champs.
  4. What were they saying? i did not hear in trash talking from the stands. But i agree, Brewster threw an AWESOME game last night, all the Owls can do is tip their hat to him. But I would like to know What they were sayng? I don't believe there was any trash talking last night.
  5. The Owls had a Sloppy 13-3 win over Notre Dame yesterday. Mikel pitched well, but his pitch count got high as a result of 5 defensive errors in the first 4 innings of the game. I'm sure the errors were a result of not playing or practicing in 5 days because of rain. I see this as just a hiccup, don't count on the Owls the make this many errors again. Mikel didn't give up an earned run and had 5 Ks in 4 innings. Wes Hale is HOT at the plate right now, Not sure on the exect statistics but i'm sure he's batting over .600 with 2 HRs and 10+ RBIs. Finally, the Owls offense will only get better when Trew returns from his elbow injury. Go OWLS!
  6. From the looks of things, and what i've heard, Red Bank can't score any runs without some help from their opponent. (Walks, Errors, etc.)
  7. Oh. Well Good luck Grace basketball!
  8. Are you positive? i'm not sure if that is correct.
  9. In the Ooltewah bracket, i know its: Ooltewah Signal Mtn South Doyle Cleveland Notre Dame I'm not sure How good these teams are other the Ooltewah. Does anybody else want to fill us in?
  10. Hixson High School has a great playing surface and pretty good facilities.
  11. What about Jon Scoggins? Those 5 names right there make up a pretty good Rotation. All of them are capable of beating the best teams in the area. But, I would slow down a bit on saying that everyone is goin to jump on Red Bank"s pitching. Two guys at 90+ and a submarine thrower if a pretty good make up. But i will say, its nothing that the Owls can't handle. Ooltewah Owls 2009 District 6AAA Champs!
  12. How has Dalton looked? the Owls are schedules to play them tomorrow morning at 10 am @ Soddy.
  13. Ooltewah is 5-0 and looking very strong offensively. as for the "big question mark" on the mound, some are struggling a little, but most have thrown really well. I know Mikel and Scoggins are two big guns for the Owls that haven't seen the mound yet. Look for them to be very effective in games to come. Baugh threw very well against Ringgold. Campbell was very effective at McMinn but the defense was a little slacking that game, the Owls won the game but Campbell did not get the win. Sheets threw a complete game 1-hit shut out with 10 Ks against a good Hixson team. you make the call.
  14. JMO, bledsoe is not a very strong team, and the Owls have already taken care of Hixson, University, and Bledsoe. Not taking anything for granted by any means, but ooltewah should take care of morrow in 5, Our JV guys played the majority of the game against Bledsoe and the Owls won 11-2.
