  8. Greeneville had won 18 straight over district opponents before last night. Before then , the last loss to a district team came near the end of the 2005-2006 season when Morristown West beat them in the Regional Championship.
  9. The Powell High School Panther Marching Band took top honors at the 4th annual Greeneville Band Classic Saturday at Pioneer Field on the Tusculum College campus. At the conclusion of the afternoon long event , which featured 14 high school marching bands from Tennessee and Virginia , Powell was named Festival Champion , the top award given to the highest scoring band out of all participants. Powell was named Grand Champion in the Class 3A-4A division , while Cocke County took Grand Champion honors in Class A-1 , A-2 and AA. First place band awards by division were in Class A-1 - Cloudland , Class A-2 - Knox West , Class AA - Cocke County , Class AAA - Powell , and in Class AAAA - Farragut. The Chuckey Doak High School Marching band open the day's event with the National Anthem. Prior to the awards ceremony , the Greeneville High School Marching Band , which as the host band was not competing , performed its' 2007 show for the standing room only crowd. 4th Annual Greeneville Band Classic Results Class A-1 Cloudland High School Band received a rating of excellent. First place award for Percussion - Cloudland First place award for Drum Major - Cloudland First place award for Band - Cloudland Class A-2 Knox West High School Band received a rating of excellent. Unicoi County High School Band received a rating of excellent.   10. Bands are still being sought for the 4th annual Greeneville Band Classic , which will be held on the Tusculum College campus on Saturday , October 13th. The event has quickly grown into one of the tops in the area , and features bands from Tennessee and other states as well. There are two awards ceremonies and an overall champion.   12. The Powell at Greeneville girls game tonight can be heard on 103.1 FM WIKQ and AM 1340 WGRV with Bobby Rader. Pregame begins at 6:30 on WGRV , joined in progresss on WIKQ following the Vols game.
