  1. Canes should have won this game last year, offensively they ran over the Owls. 18 had over 250 yds rushing. If not for an interception, failure to kick a FG before half and mistakes by the Cane Defense the Owls would have had nothing. They better hope for those same breaks this year, but I bet Canes Coaches and players remember those mistakes well. After watching Owls and Tyner last week, I believe that the Canes Offense will eat Owls defense and score at will. Defensively Canes will have to stop the Owls run and cover Binders arm. But at the end of the night this is a Canes win. Moore will have another big night and Milita will also run at will and have a big night. Given a step, Owls can't match his speed. Lets get this one over with and move on.......Canes win 35-21
  2. The Hurricanes hit Signal Mtn, EH 14 and SM 12, and left them with some clean up to do. The Canes will kick it up for Dobbins Bennett next week
  3. Just heard that Rivals has tagged East Ham RB Matt Milita after an outstanding performance at the Vanderbilt camp. He had the 2nd fastest 40 time at the camp and got Vandys attention. He is going to be a threat to deal with this year for teams taking onn the pre-season top pick Hurricanes. QB Moore will pass at will. Has some of the best receivers in the state with Lenoir and Herndon, a Vandy commitment. I don't think Signal will score on Canes Defense. Price will get beat worse than last year and try to figure a way to get back to 2A ball.
  4. Unapproved Website has tagged East Ham Junior RB #6 Matt Milita after an outstanding performance at the Vanderbilt camp. He had the 2nd fastest 40 time at the camp and got Vandys attention. He is going to be a threat to deal with this year for teams taking on the pre-season top pick Hurricanes. He got a lot of play time last year and comes into this season with experience as well as being bigger and faster. A 2000 yd season wouldn't surprise me at all from this kid.

  6. Thursday, December 20th, 2012 East Hamilton gets five on Class 4A all-state team The best season in the fledgling program's history has been capped by East Hamilton placing five players on the Tennessee Sports Writers Association's Class 4A all-state team. Hurricanes running back Logan Jackson, offensive ilneman Fielder Dennis, defensive lineman Francisco Rodriguez, linebacker Austin Gatewood and kicker Cameron Carter all earned all--state honors. Joining the five Hurricanes players are Signal Mountain quarterback Reese Phillips and Hixson athlete Allante Novene, while three local players -- Howard defensive lineman Brandon Walters, Tyner offensive lineman David Powell and Polk County running back Zach Miller -- made the 3A team. "That blows my mind," said Hurricanes coach Ted Gatewood, whose program just completed its fourth year, having claimed consecutive district titles. "To have more all-state players than we've had years as a program, wow. That's the best Christmas our program could ask for. That means so much to our program and those kids. "It's a testament to the kids who came here and started building this program." Jackson ran for 1,700 yards and 23 touchdowns to help East Hamilton defend its District 6-AA championship before a torn ACL ended his season as the playoffs began. Much of that rushing total came by running behind Dennis, while Rodriguez had 15.5 tackles for loss and Gatewood 13.5 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks to lead one of the area's top defensive units. Phillips, a University of Kentucky commitment, threw for 2,300 yards and 15 touchdowns to help the Eagles return to the playoffs, while Novene had more than 800 receiving yards and 8 TDs to help Hixson finish second in the district. Walters, a Mr. Football finalist, led the area with 27 tackles for loss and also had 98 total tackles and 11.5 sacks. Powell, a three-year starter, helped the Rams rush for more than 3,000 yards and Miller, a junior, led the area with 2,000-plus yards and 23 TDs. "As good of a player as he is, he's an even better kid," Polk County coach Derrick Davis said. "He's a very deserving player to make all state and the best thing about him for us is that he's back next year." 8. Didn't that Giles coaching staff get disciplined for cheating this year? Maybe that says something !
  9. Troll.....skeered shoulda called hisself 'aimtsmart' cause he keeps puking up that hairball about them cats being all that. We have already had a tatse of what they call 12AA ball....it ain't all that. Giles ain't gonna run over this Cane Team. It may be a good game, but Canes will win this one.
  10. Canes last week in the playoffs will be in Cookville when we win that title.
  11. Well the Canes have climbed another rung of the ladder towards the 4A state title. The naysayers and non believers haven't taken this team serious yet. That's OK we will just enjoy it one game @ a time. Next victim.....Giles !
  12. Well the Canes have climbed another rung of the ladder towards the 4A state title. The naysayers and non believers haven't taken this team serious yet. Maybe after they serve up a can of Whoop #### on Giles next week, we can get some respect.
  13. The only way they can have more experience is if they have career high school students. All these ball players are the same age, some playing longer than others, some with more varsity experience, but you will have to look hard to find a team that has played more together than Canes. I would bet that this team has the most experience playing together as a team, on the field, varsity play time, than any other in the state. They play as a unified unit, and don't stop until that final buzzer. Canes are the #1 team in TN 4A this year, it will just take till Dec 1 in Cookville to make it official. They can talk smack all they want, but after the long ride home for Page on Friday nite, the Giles folk will hear from them just what the Canes are all about. Canes will get the respect they deserve one game at a time, just as they have so far.
  14. Chattacane, you've been way to kind to these boys from Zone 12.....Canes will have no problem with this PageBoy team. They won't be able to score on Canes like they did them Birds on Signal Mtn. Once their QB gets introduced to the Big Cane Defensive Line and the Big Fast Linebacker Crew, it will be all he can handle to get that pigskin outa his hands so they will leave him alone. They can't run the ball cause there ain't no where to go unless he wants to run the opposite way. The Cane Offense will do just fine, just as they have all year. They will score on these boys at will, whether its on the ground or in the air. If Signal was able to run up 41 points on them, no telling what the Canes will score. We have mercy ruled most teams this year, so at least PageBoys can look forward to seeing the JV team the second half. Canes walk away with this one and then get ready to put a whooping on the Giles Girls next week.
  15. Thanks Troll...... Y'all guys will be back. Maybe the Canes can keep the momentum and bring that State Trophy back. Lojack will be ok, he's tough. Wouldn't surprise me to see him back quick.
