  1. Well for starters, former parent. My son no longer plays.... Secondly, I've made simple observations from what I have actually seen or heard from people close to the program. I still make it to most of the home games, girls and boys and some away that are big with the school (Loudon). So i have an idea as to how the teams are doing. Still have friends that have kids on both squads as well. Do I think coach Wright was/is a good coach, yes. Do I get my feelings hurt, nope. If you have input as to who might be the next coach, great! Just looking for info...... 3 girls coaches in 3 years, boys side even worse. And I agree 100% that the parents need to get out, coach needs to be able to coach and the kids should be able to play without being pulled in two directions. Let's get a coach and let the kids play!!!!!
  2. Haven't heard much, looks like Wright's two assistants are running summer practices for now. Heard that Coach Price? Doesn't have the required teaching credentials to take over and the female coach doesn't have much coaching experience and is lacking some maturity at times. Haven't heard anything about the boys, not sure if there is anything on the boys side of the forum. I want to think the girls have a large upcoming senior class. Of course it being LCHS, parents moaning already........ Get a coach and let them play!!!!!!
  3. Heard it's a double whammy.... Windell, boys coach, leaving for William Blount. Any coaches out there worth looking at?
  4. Another year, another coach?? Who's up next?!?!
  5. Friend in Seymour saying that Wright turned them down and will be taking the LC job.
  6. Talking with several parents and players, big thing is that right now they have no direction. My understanding is that there was never a "true" meeting with the current team members to let them know that the administration is working towards locating and acquiring a coach. End of school coming up and no one has mentioned any practices (10 days allowed till end of school year), no summer schedule (15 days in June to include any team camps), and no conditioning work or at the least a recommended work-out schedule to prepare by during the summer months. Whether it is Coach Wright, Coach "momma", Coach "daddy", or who-ever, the kids deserve some direction. Granted, they can work in the driveway, park, etc. but some true "coaching" would be nice. Coaching means getting "sally-sue" to understand "WHY" she is to be in this spot, look for this situation, know how to attack a weakness, or defend and improve on her weakness. The longer they wait, the less chance this team will have at any cohesion/chemistry at all. And yes, whoever the coach is, they need to let the parents know that THEY are the coach and those in the stands are the spectators.......
  7. Just be glad LC got new lighting in the gym.... Could have been only 1 scoreboard and about as bright as the nightlight in your bathroom!!!! Granted, this is the "Boys Basketball" forum, but should be some good games tonight from the girls; Maryville/Farragut and William Blount/Heritage. Who knows, might even borrow a portable scoreboard from one of the "UPWard Leagues"......
  8. LC beats Catholic by 2 in a nailbiter.... Bearden beats West by 20 something, didn't catch the final score. Thought this game would have been closer after watching West handle Farragut the other night.
  9. I went to the gym, paid my $5 dollars to see what this was about. Ledbetter is right, Coach Lee's team won to move on to the "finals". Close game, but a win is a win. However, I've watched the team they played several times during the year to include middle school games since the team they beat yesterday is mainly made up of girls from Philadelphia's Varsity squad from this past season. Also, the majority of those girls are upcoming 8th graders I believe, 12u. Might have been a better game if Coach Lee had played more than 6 players, I counted 5 or 6 on the bench that never saw the floor except to warm up. If this is how the Wendy's Elite program is "improving" the girls game, they might want to see about getting more girls involved so those 2 or 3 that play the "whole" game do not have tired legs at the end. Why place 13, 14, 15 girls on the bench if you are only going to use 6 or 7. My guess is that the 4 girls that have been involved with Wendy's high school team are the ones getting most of the playing time during the 13u games as well. This can make for a tiresome weekend no matter who the player is.
