Records and streaks can't go on forever....I hate it had to end under DH. My opinion (which isn't worth much) is that DH and company right the ship and win out the regular season (even beating West) and roll on to the Semi's against Oakland. I won't make a prediction on that game, but I believe Maryville will be there. But, even if I am wrong and they are not able to right the ship this season, Maryville isn't going anywhere....DH is still a good coach and he is 10 times a better man than he is a coach. Maryville is very lucky to have a man like DH leading their young men. Go Rebels, go win it all!!

I don't really know much about the new coach....but I wish him the best of luck in getting things turned around at WB. I have always said there are some great folks in admin at WB that have always went beyond their call to help kids in the community in ways the public will never see or know about. They deserve to see the football program take a turn in the right direction and I hope Coach Reeves is able to accomplish this!!

Head to head is always the first option to settle a tie....in your situation head to head was thrown out because you had 3 teams and no team beat both of the other two.....so you went to the second step which was overall wins and according to what you said above if you guys would have won tonight you would have had more total wins than the other two therefore you would have been 1st. I don't know what happened in your region but from what you typed above because head to head between all three could not settle it, it went to total wins, you and Rockwood tied in total wins and Monterey had less wins so they were 3rd.....then because you and RW both had 7 wins it should have reverted back to head to head and therefore RW should be first and Oneida 2nd. But had you won tonight your head to head would not have settled the 3 way tie and when it went to step 2 you would have been first due to more total wins than the other 2.

You are correct, head to head in the 3 way tie could not be determined because no team beat the other 2. So you go to the second tiebreaker, which is number of wins.....no question Midway wins that so they are in...once that happens it reverts back to the two teams left GB and OZ and GB is in because of head to head win.

I agree.....it takes time to build a program. They are closing the gap, they had a lot of close losses this year....a few more breaks here or there and a 1-9 season could have easily been 5-5. It is moving in the right direction.

GB is in....3 way tie and Midway is in due to total victories....with Midway in for total wins it will revert to a head to head between OZ and GB and GB goes because they won the head to head with OZ. That is my take.

Pretty sure that was not the kid in question you saw playing....the starter (Eli Turner) had a jersey get torn and they took the jersey from the kid in question and had Eli wear it. At least that is what I was told.

Yep....I never made a comment on here when the situation with McMinn Co was going on, but just my gut impression was the they were getting hosed when all that went down. The question in my mind during all that time was "how has DB went through all season without any problems with Covid"? I guess that question has been answered. There is no doubt that different schools handled the whole Covid thing in different ways....but to stand up and tell kids what they supposedly told them is asking for problems.

Watched Milan on tape against Peabody and Covington....Milan has a lot of good looking athletes. I think they have the athletes to be competitive and I think their defense will be very competitive with Alcoa. While they have great looking athletes on offense, I think it will be difficult for them to generate many points on this Alcoa defense with the offense they run. I see Alcoa 21 Milan 7

Congrats to Oakland...great team that is very well coached. After watching the Oakland vs Mt Juliet and Oakland vs Riverdale games I knew that Maryville would have to play its best game and get some big breaks to keep this one close and neither one happened. Congrats to Maryville on another great season, not many teams can replace 17 starters from a state championship caliber team and end up back in the Semis the following year. I fully expect that these two teams will be playing in the Semis next year at Maryville.....Good luck to Oakland in the championship game!!
