  1. I found out this afternoon that the rod will be removed later. Another doctor said he wouldn't play anymore high school sports. The doctor told him this before he went home today. He was looking forward to maybe playing basketball and baseball. I believe the surgeon didn't want him to know at that time.
  2. Has anyone ever seen or know of anyone who had a rod left in the bone permanently? I didn't think you can do any activity with a rod left in your bone permanently.
  3. I always thought that a compound fracture was through the skin. The doctor said it was a compound fracture. It was not through the skin. I really don't think it was a compound fracture. I believe the trainer was right.
  4. Skylar gets out of the hospital today and will be at the game friday night. He had two compound fractures. He broke both the tibia and fibula. They inserted a rod in the large bone with screws holding it. They rod will be permanent. He is now walking with crutches. Come by and see him after the game. He was hit in his right leg by a teammate's helmet. He gave the team a pep talk as he lay on the ground. He wouldn't let the EMS leave until they scored. He's feeling much better today. Be back in school probably tomorrow. He won't play any more football this year but may play basketball and then baseball. He will be at all the playoff football games.
  5. Henry County will play and host Springfield in first round of playoffs next friday night. The winner gets to play the winner of the Clarksville Northeast-Gallatin game in the second round. Go PATS.
  6. Who will win? For those who want to be the first to find out who will play who in the playoffs, go to fm 104.5 Sports (online on the internet). At 7 am - 9 am Saturday morning, two representatives of the TSSAA (who will actually do the bracketing),and Murphy Fair will show and discuss everything you need to know, or you can wait until later on Saturday and look at the TSSAA website. There will be live streaming video/audio of all the info. FM 104.5 is a sports radio station from Gallatin similar to ESPN. Or you can wait and read it in the newspaper later on Sunday.

  8. I've just heard that Shonte suffered a ACL injury in the knee and won't be available until probably three weeks.
  9. Those figures you gave are very close to those given on all the high schools student populations on the internet. Clarksville High = 1420, Rossview = 1403, Kenwood = 1207, Northwest = 1284, Northeast = 1475, Henry County = 1400.
  10. Thanks for the corrections for directions.
  11. Here's the directions to next fridays game at West Creek: Take Wilma Rudolph Blvd. (1.3 mi) Turn Left onto DUNBAR CAVE RD (0.5 mi) W DUNBAR CAVE RD becomes PETERSON LANE (0.9 mi) PETERSON LANE becomes W Creek DR (0.9 mi) W CREEK DR (0.0 mi) Total distance from Paris - 59.4 miles
  12. According to todays PI, HCHS is playing Creekwood at Clarksville High at 6:00 pm Friday.
  13. I posted the scrimmages on the website. However, I can't confirm that the location is Kenwood. If anyone finds out before Monday, let us know and I will change it. The Tennessean newspaper says At Clarksville: Henry Co. vs. Creek Wood, Clarksville vs. Sycamore. Now I'm really confused. I asked a player just now and he said HCHS will be playing Creekwood but he couldn't remember if the location was at Clarksville High or Kenwood. He will call me Monday (it was on the board in the locker room) at school. Even he didn't know what time they started. Both newspapers have conflicting reports. Maybe someone will let us know sooner. For the thirtysomething fans that made it to Maplewood Wednesday afternoon, the three point kickers looked better, but one of them missed the extra point after the touchdown. I guess they need more practice. Simms is not as quick at throwing as Teague was last year. He got pounded a few times he ran it and so did McAdams. However they both made some yardage. If it weren't for the Maplewood defenders not being able to intercept a few, the score might be worse. Simms threw it once right into three defenders hands and they dropped it. One time he threw it to Haley (who was surrounded by three defenders) and all Haley could do was knock it away. There was some positives (defense played well), when the 406 pounder wasn't holding French. All in all, we will know more on the 14th. Just two more weeks to go before the Liberty game. We can't have some of those mistakes against Liberty.
