  1. For USN to win they are gonna need more than one goal in regulation. MUS has a good offense having put in 3 goals in each of their first two games. USN will win if they stick to the game plan they had against CBHS and us. If they try and play straight up with MUS they may have a similar result to their first meeting with MUS. If they get guys behind the ball and keep the box packed like they did their first two games with counters here and there, they will be succesful like they have been. Thats the key to their success. USN, not the best team, but definately has the discipline to take anyone on.
  2. shots on goal were somewhere around 10-5 in favor of catholic. While alot of them might not have been very dangerous, the time spent on USN's side of the field can describe the game somewhat. They had a very obvious gameplan coming in to the game to get alot of people behind the ball. Usually it was somewhere around 7 or 8 guys. When that many people are in the vicinity of the box its hard to score no matter how much possesion you have on a team. USN was very disciplined and I'd say will be a very tough team for MUS to beat if they play how they did against us. Congrats USN you earned this opportunity.
  3. Webb's goal was by Chris Datskos, #7. It was a great effort with only 8 seconds left. Great game. Congratulations to Webb and good luck next week in Memphis.
  4. That's correct. Webb beat Catholic 1-0 on a goal with 8 seconds left in the game. Catholic plays Father Ryan and Webb plays MUS. Congratulations to Webb on the win. Both teams played very hard and it was a very good game.
  5. Congratulations to both teams. I knew BGA was going to be very strong this year from the start and it was very apparent after playing Father Ryan that they were a team that could be great with a little work. Both teams will be teams to watch in state.
  6. I've got to mention Catholic's Mike Pierce. He's had seven shutouts and only 5 goals allowed in 10 games. Last year as a sophomore he played midfield. He took over for senior All-Region keeper Dan Sheridan when Dan had surgery.
  7. That score is ridiculous. Coaches never want to tell their kids to not score, but what you should at least do is tell them that under no circumstance should they attempt a shot without passing the ball around lets say 15 times, or not to shoot inside the 18. 26-0 is embarrassing to a team and a score that would make alot of players quit. A couple years back I bet some of these people from science hill were getting on bearden for beating heritage so bad. To lose your next game was only fitting, and I bet you were real proud of that.

    shutouts

Mike Pierce at Knoxville Catholic has 7 shutouts in 10 games.
  9. Timeouts are for sports with players who don't train to play the whole game. Forget timeouts, put it out there for the whole game or go home.
  10. Just to put it out there so there is no misconception. Shine a Light is not a part of the Knoxville Catholic program. His comments are in no way slanted bc of his association with our team but rather because he knows about our squad and how we've played and what we can do. By the way Shine a Light, thanks for having our backs despite all the doubters.
  11. LC always seems to see things differently. I'm pretty sure that the shot count of 21-5 whether it is accurate or not, definately accurately sums that game up.
  12. Catholic (1) v. Webb (0). Good game Webb.
  13. All I have to say is that this Bivens guy better perform against the teams at the LC tourny, because after all this talk that his fan club has been doing, he's going to be a complete target for all these teams that don't want to hear how he scored on them.
  14. I remember talking with you all before Ooltewah's Dalton game at the Subway. I figured no one who knows us would think we posted the message, especially since we were playing Franklin Co. when it was done. We got a couple of wins Saturday (Franklin Co. 5-0 and Tullahoma 3-0). We have LC tomorrow night and Webb on Wednesday. Hope we're back on the winning track. Anyway, thanks for your support.
  15. McCallie's a quality team and played well. They took CBHS to OT and maybe were a little tired during the Bearden game. They'll be fine by the weekend. Good luck in Georgia.
  16. What is CBHS like this year as well as Oak Ridge and McCallie. This is not an insult at all. I've seen great results out of all three teams and then ones that would seem uncharacteristic. Any feedback would be great.
  17. Stayinskool, I just was able to read the post that was made by you, and I want to confirm that whoever made that post is not related to the Knoxville Catholic program. Assuming it was a player on our team and making the comment you did really makes our program and our team look bad when it wasn't even us that made the comment. Losing is not what we expect or see often, but in defeat we are definately not an unsporting team. Please figure out who is posting what before a comment is made like that again. We'd appreciate it. On another note however, I want to give a congratulations to our D2 east region school, Notre Dame on winning the CCS tournament. Also congratulations are due to FRA as well. You played a good game on friday and losing to ND is nothing to be ashamed about, fluke goal or not. Good luck to everyone with the rest of their seasons.
  18. Farragut is the best team I've seen so far this year. They are my bet to win state in AAA. CBHS did beat them 2-0 and have won the last three years so they are and will be the favorite until someone knocks them off. A'AA LC has a great squad and CAK is still on top until tourny time.
  19. crkjon I'm guessing you don't play soccer. If you do then you've just completely disrespected your own sport for some reason, and if you don't then you are on the wrong threads buddy. Getting back to the topic. I know Knox Catholic got no help with facilities, coaching, or funding period until we made it to states. Soccer is year in and year out the most succesful program at our school and we still have to buy our own warmups and shorts and socks because we don't get funded.
  20. soccermadness has it right. The score was 2-1 McMinn. Congratulations, Cherokees, you have a great team. Good luck during your season.
  21. I was at the Cak LC game and LC was the better team out there that game. Anyone who was there would tell you that LC had the better of it and domintated particularly in the 2nd half. They had no answer for Mitch Thomas and CAK got some weird goal at the end off a scrum in the box. LC wins that game 3 out of four times after what I saw. 1. LC 2. CAK 3. CCS 4. FRA
  22. Just like their whole team. Solid. They'll have another good year.
  23. Father Ryan played very well and very hard, but you can tell they are still coming together. It's hard to replace players like Jason Chen and the other seniors they lost last year. They'll be tough in April and May.
  24. Knoxville Catholic (1) v. MBA (1).
