  1. The amazing thing is that they didn't really get it what I would consider "late." That drive was exactly what a time-killing drive is supposed to do. The guys on the broadcast made an excellent point when Oakland didn't pick up enough yards on second down for a first down... it wasn't the worst thing in the world - they were likely going to get the first anyways. It was one of the most beautiful drives I've ever seen.
  2. What a good game... unfortunate that the Rebels had the two miscues in the red zone but that happens some nights. I thought the D was going to stand tall and get a stop on that last Oakland drive but it wasn't meant to be. The Patriots can run the ball kinda decently. That's old school football right there. Congratulations to Oakland... and congratulations to the Rebels. I can't wait for the day there's a gold ball in the trophy case, but I'm proud of the silver ones, too.
  3. Good luck, Rebels! Do what you have to do tonight. And as a wise man once told me to say, good health to the Patriots!
  4. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> This is the typical attitude against Williamson County, and I'll never get it. Ever.
  5. Ehh, I was still proud. And please, Riverdale was amazing... if you go back and look at the play-by-play, that game turned on a couple key plays. I'm not saying the game was closer than the score or anything like tehat... but I think you're selling yourselves short. Anyways... someone needs to text me updates Saturday night... you, or Rebel Yell... someone. Hit me up on facebook if you don't have my number still.
  6. Could be worse... you could be driving all the way from Monroe, La. because you promised a certain kicker that if his team made state, you'd be there. Not that I know anything about that though. If I wasn't working at the NCAA Division II Soccer National Championships this weekend, I'd be making an even longer drive from Sarasota, Fla. but alas, I'll just have to cheer long-distance I guess. And 2priceless, I'm back around here at least for the week... /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  7. Bring it back to Franklin. That's all.
  8. They've been in the championship game every year since 2001 except for one... Region 6 has been in the championship game ever year since 2002 except for one... I think they're on an equal footing... with the only difference being Riverdale's dominance of the region (and the east side of the state) in the early years of that period while Region 6 hasn't had one dominant force in the period.
  9. Not anyone that was doing anything other than just talking smack. Certainly does seem like they've got quite the team at FHS this year... hope they make us all proud. Edit: I can't believe that was four years ago! Man, I'm getting old...
  10. Obviously I don't get around here much any longer (I don't even recognize the posters...), but I just wanted to offer up my congratulations to the Rebels for FINALLY earning that regular season Region 6-5A Championship! And of course, yet another victory over Centennial is always nice... how many in a row now? It's almost as bad as Navy-Notre Dame, no doubt. [/sarcasm] What a bear of a defense we must have. I wish I could get up for a playoff game...
  11. This shouldn't be a shocker to anyone who follows 5A football. FHS has been a producer of amazing kickers for quite a few years. Thanks to who? Well, you attended tonight's game in his stadium. Congrats to the Rebs. Looking at the box, it looks like we lived by the big play tonight. The box is very similar to those from 2002 and 2003. Also, if any of the Franklin folks here talk to the internet radio guys, tell Mr. Nichols that Taylor Flatt down in Sarasota, Florida would love to actually hear what he has to say - turn the mic on! Beyond that, it was enjoyable to listen to him and Mr. Dunford call the game tonight on ihigh. Tell them that at least I appreciate it! Game of the season next week... Go Rebs!
  12. Well, it's clear that you're doing fine as normal... a season wouldn't be complete without a bold prediction from the BDD!
  13. Sounds like Franklin is pretty one-dimmensional, too. Stat of the day: Completed passes last night: 3 INTs last night: 4 When your coach is saying things like "we're not going to be a very good offense for a while" in the papers, you know things aren't too great. However, sounds like Franklin has quite the defense. Franklin's turnover rate: +1. That's right, even with throwing four interceptions, they stilll have a turnover rate of +1. Last night they forced five fumbles (recovering 4) and picked off a Falcon pass as well. Just some things to think about...
  14. No, of course not. Obviously I'm just a bandwaggon fan. Around for the three great years under TJ, start of the year last season drove me away, and now predictions of Murfreesboro for this season have me back...
  15. One of these years folks will realize that preseason polls are just best guesses and that's it. It's nothing worth getting worked up about. With the quantity of schools in the midstate and the quality of play at many of those schools, it's nearly impossible to create a top ten that everyone is going to pretty much agree upon. Of course, my Alma Mater's number three in the poll so whatever I say is going to seem like I'm defending it because of that.
  16. Yeah, certainly doesn't sound like we're playing our best... which means the rest of the league needs to watch out! I love how well Sully is playing. It's almost as if he's like "Kariya's nice, but don't forget about me." I never thought I'd see the day where a Pred would be leading the NHL in scoring. GO PREDS!
  17. They have stats to back it up too... like Mikrut going 14/21 for 334 yards! WOW!
  18. This goes to show I shouldn't listen to friends without checking... I'm going to check now.
  19. If I get some time this weekend, I'll come up with the various playoff scenarios. I'm sure a big wrench was thrown into those with Franklin's loss to Columbia tonight. I'm not sure where everyone else has gone, but it's hard for me to talk much about a team I've only seen once. Let's hope CoachT.com is still around whenever I make it back to Franklin.
  20. Well, yes, you are talking to yourself. But I was there and oh how awesome it was. This is going to be a heck of a year for the Preds... a banner year, perhaps. It'll be fun to watch (or in my case, listen over the internet). GO PREDS!
  21. How did this go down tonight, guys? Sounds like yet another classic Franklin-Brentwod showdown. Looking forward to post-game from fromthetop2, BigDog, et al.
  22. Oh no, I'm fully aware. And it most definitely only feels like three...
  23. GREETINGS FELLOW WILLIAMSON COUNTIANS! Oh yes, I return. CoachT has been uploading waaaay too slow on my computer for me to even come around, but it's Franklin-Brentwood week... you do what you gotta do. Well, last Friday night, we watched the Middle Tennessee game of the week at my grandparents place on Longboat Key. I shall be returning this Friday in hopes of having the same good luck. I don't know what to think about this game since I haven't seen either team (that changes next week though ). All I know is that it's Franklin-Brentwood and anything could and likely will happen. By the way, thanks sportsguy for reminding the class of 2003 of what transpired in the quarterfinals that year - we appreciate it. Anyhoo, I have nothing really to add. I'll enjoy reading what y'all have to say though. And naturally... GO REBS!
