I had also heard that S-D had another player injured this year, although I don't know if he was injured for the entire season. If so, who was that? South-Doyle played very well this year.

I understand that Cody Haun of S-D wasn't able to play this year. How did he get injured? Was he a Senior this year?

Has Mt. Juliet ever made it to the State Baseball Tournament? I know they are usually strong in the districts and regionals, but I didn't know if they have ever played in or won the State Tournament. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Will any other team ever win a 4A State Championship, or for that matter, a 5A championship starting in 2009 besides Maryville? I don't think so! Gotta love college football with its parity!

Who were some of the greatest high school football players from the old NIL (Nashville Interscholastic League), what schools did they play for (whether the school is still open or not), and what years did they play? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 9-year old that has been wanting to play tackle youth football, and I'm not sure it's such a good idea, mainly because I don't want to burn him out on football now to where he won't want to play in middle school & high school. Also, I'm not sure about his physical & mental maturity to handle the time commitment it takes to play football. I know that some football players (ie Peyton Manning, etc.) weren't allowed to play until they were in middle school, but I wanted to get some feedback from the board on whether it's a good idea to let young kids play youth tackle football. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

With the emergence of Wilson Central this year in football, what is wrong with Mt. Juliet's football program? Are most of the good football players in Wilson County going to Wilson Central instead of MJ?

If you have trouble from here, go to the home page, click on the Report Card 2004 icon on the right hand side of the page, select Maryville school system, then select Maryville High School. Were the enrollment numbers not taken during the late spring or summer? I thought the TSSAA had their classification meeting in early August.

According to the TSSAA site, Maryville has 1351 students this year. However, according to the State of TN Report Card 2004 site that gives school test score results, it has Maryville High School with 1359 students this year. Can anyone explain this? With 1359 students, Maryville should be 5A. Check it out!

This game is NOT a good matchup! Maryville will blow Melrose out. I was at the Maryville-Memphis East game in 2000 and it was obvious who was better disciplined, better coached, etc. I also saw Melrose-Hillsboro last year, and Melrose was not that good IMO. They are an undisciplined football team like Memphis East was. They have speed and little else!
