  1. Where is the Brentwood-Fraklin game being played at tonight? It doesn't say on soccerinfo.com.
  2. smyrna is actually a very solid team despite what you think. They lost a lot of talent after their run to state last year. Also, With Pete as the coach you never know what could've happend with their star players cause he does not hessitate to keep them off the field for disciplinary reasons. AS for the game they played against Fraklin county, it was a very even game. You should not sell Franklin county short, They are a talented team. Smyrna missed many chances including a PK. I believe that Smyrna will win their district over h'ville and make another run at the state tournement.
  3. the atmosphere was great and the turn out was great. The game was a little cheeky compair to other games. They obviously didn't have their first team's in. It seems that the galaxy miss sean elliot who they traded over the off season. The galaxy goal was a great shot. The tecos goal was good ont he strikers part but horrible goalkeeping. I know i woulda got to it. lol j/k!
  4. Well soccer is a sport of class and is not a sport full of thugs, drug addict, and domastic abusers. Soccer should be held to a higher standard than the sports that contain these types of atheletes. The only big tarnishes on the game of soccer that i know of has been is drug issue with diego maradonna and the issue of rio ferdinand missing a drug test in england this past year. As for the how the soft red card rule was came to be, I totally agree that the majority of the referees in the state of Tn are very unfamiliar with how the game of soccer should be officiated. I've played club ball since i was 8 and have had many horribly officaiated games. This is a problem but many of the assigners are taking the neccessary steps to resolve this problem by bringing in assesors and improving the quality of the officiating.
  5. i totally agree with you Kendren. I'm a referee for tssaa and a ussf referee and i feel that the soft red card rule is very silly. This rule is not present in other soccer countries and i feel that hurts the maturity of growing players. They will feel that they can get away with things and not get punished for them. As for the rule, when a player recieves a double yellow or "soft red" card they sit out the rest of that game but the team still playes with 11 players. That player is not suspended for any ammount of time and is eligible for the next game. As for a straight red card, the player is sent off and the team plays with 10 men. The player must meet with the athletic director of the school and serves at the least a one game suspension pending the meeting with the athletic director.
  6. xander is a very good player, jeff is also a special player, and harry parsons is also a very strong player, but who no one knows about is a man named jonathan kaylor. He has amazing touch, size, and vision. He also has good speed out of the midfield and an awesome shot on him. He plays for a below average team in McGavock, yet they only lost to Clarksville 3-1 and one of clarksville's goals was an own goal. He doesn't score many golas out of center midfield but he makes a team with very little skill a lot better through his play. He can easily be up there with all these other players.
  7. I'm not sure if anyone had heard about this but I'm trying to get the word out about it. The L.A. Galaxy are coming to Nashville and playing the mexican league team the Tecos. This game will be played at the collisum in downtown nashville. The price of the tickets rang from 15$ to 45$. You can purchace the tickets online at ticketmaster.com. It would be great to havea good turn out so nashville can earn some respect from the reat of the soccer world. If you read this please spread the word.
  8. McGavock is a decent team. they have two standout players. one plays center midfield and the other plays sweeper. They have good team speed and are very fit. if you shut down the man with the mullet in the midfield then you should be able to score some goals. and the goalie has a hard time with crosses but everything else he's solid on.
  9. I was a cheerleading for two years and a soccer player since i was 3 and i know for a fact that when i go to a practice in a gym with tumbling tracks and competition floors you have to exhibit athletic ability that many football, basketball, and surely, baseball players cannot possibly match up to. I'm a guy and i would always stunt and tumble. Those are the things i liked in cheerleading but when we had to yell on the sidelines that's the part that isn't athletic and not fun for me. Somtimes is an acceptable answer for this question casue there are aspects of cheerleading that make it a sport yet there are many that don't make it a sport. As for the college thing i don't know if it's an offical sprt but it gives very good scholarships so who cares if it's considered a sport or not?
  10. thnx corndog. You are keeping it deuce man. who did you play high school ball for? I'm gonna call the number tom to try and get some info.
  11. hey zam I know some people that go to MTSU and they said that they could get to number of the coach that kinda runs the team. I'm hoping to get that nuber soon and get a hold of him so i can find out details. When i get that number I'll post another message on this thread for ya. Where did you go to school and did you play any club ball?
  12. Hey adam I'm headed to MTSU and hoping to play for their travel team if one gets put together. I'm prolly gonna transfer to a school with a ncaa team so i can play for a real team. Good luck at UTC bro.
  13. hey fever85 who are you?
  14. I say Johnny Black and the Smyrna defense handles Brentwood's gunners but Adam Leedle lets one in. Drew davenport scores Smyrna's goal. The games will go into O.T. and the sophmore phenom Micheal Hinson scores to golden goal to send Smyrna to Memphis!!!!!!! Smyrna-2 Brentwood-1 O.T.
  15. well Brentwood beat McGavock 4-0 in a game that was controlled mainly by Brentwood. We held them scoreless for the first 30 minutes, giving our team some hope, and i made many good saves even though their shot selection wasn't very good. Playing without two starters really hurt us in the conditioning department cause the last 10 minutes of the half they scored 3 goals when we got tired. They moved the ball very well but if a team can play good defense then they can frustrate them and score a quick goal. Congrats to Brentwood and Cenntenial. Good luck the rest of the year! P.S. There were 30 saves put in the book for me in this game! That's enough for 3 games!
