  1. please correct me if im wrong but hasnt a team from 9-AAA won that region for a couple of years now? Hasnt 9-aaa kind of dominated.....i really am not sure....i know that in 03 henry county had a good squad and gave hendersonville (a state qualifier) all they could handle.....but thinkin back to aroun 99-2000, it seems that 9aaa has ran things.....curious about what the years before that were like
  2. i agree somewhat----the hill was kind of handcuffed when oak ridge came out and was 7 for 7 to start the half. Not sure what presses he has that team running but like you said, in a way it was counterproductive because oak ridge beat it time and time again...........outcoached?? maybe, dont know what adjustments were made and what was said, and ya gotta give a lot of credit to the players. oak ridge did what they needed to do in the second half and from experience when your down to a team like that you gotta try and create turnovers, the ridge's guards got the job done!!
  3. those two kids were freshmen????? holy cow..oak ridge has a lot to look forward to in the future!!!! like i said before i was pulling for science hill with coach cutlip being a former coach, but gained a lot of respect for oak ridge, a team i had other wise never known..........played hard and smart, and did things right...i didnt SEE a lot of trash talking or taunting, just goin out and getting the job done......as for state---lets go oak ridge, put it to those high flying west tennessee teams, and best of luck in the future--you guys have gained a fan!!!!
  4. I'm a middle tennessee boy and headed up to the ridge to see an old coach, hated to see him lose, but oak ridge has a heck of a club. Don't know what they did during the regular season but i dont know if anyone in the state could have beat em last night...that post player in the middle (the big white kid) he knows how to use his body and could give a lot of teams a lot of trouble along with the rangy number 3 i think it was....kid could jump and has good mobility.......enjoyed watchin that east tennessee ball better than i did middle tennessee--good luck oak ridge
  5. well said BigBoy---its fans like ole mailman that can really make ya dislike a team....it's totally acceptable to be a fan and support your team but everytime an MJ post is put up on here, mailman goes in and talks about central and how superior they are to all living things ever created. I agree, central does have a very good fan base and i am almost willing to bet if you ask all of central's fans about demeanor and calmness, they would also agree that fryar is one up in that category....Aside from mailman--hope to see all you central fans up in the boro, and hope to see you saturday night in the championship!!!!
  6. mailman--let me clear up what i was saying.....gassie is a great leader and i have lots of respect for williams and jenkins.....great group of talent there and i RESPECT that....but the comments you made, made it sound different......thank you for clarifying your comments
  7. C'mon now mailman, be for real for a minute.......Gassie is a GREAT player but best leader in the state? Williams and Jenkins the best posts in the state? The three previous games, those 3 had been non-existent with the exception of Gassie in the first game.....Mailman--great win tonight..you guys played great....dont post after an emotional win....it made no sense--need i remind you--3 and 1 for the year and what 11 or 12-2 all time??? back up a little and realize what your saying....and i dont recall any mj fans saying they were invincible (check you spelling by the way)..we have a good group of girls who play hard..i wish both teams the best of luck but its fans like ole mailman who really make ya dislike other teams......
  8. Great job by the Brandon boys tonight.......had a perfect gameplan and executed it almost to complete perfection. The jenkins girl definatly had her career game tonight, and O'Connell shot the ball well...hats off to WC tonight. Gassie continues to amaze me everytime i see her play--she has a certain awareness and calmness about her. As for MJ, well i think that mighta been the worst they coulda played this year...due in part to Central's game, dont get me wrong, but only 2 3's the entre game with one being a heave at the end?????????? i look for MJ to rebound strongly saturday night against a good Hillsboro team. Good luck to WC and MJ and hopefully we will see em matched up for a 5th time for the gold ball!!
  9. i will agree--they werent very good and being an mj guy i was pulling for beech really really strongly--love the way those guys play but jozman---ya got beat---who cares what the students do? i will agree, you guys were loud and full of energy but ya lost the game---good luck in substate and hope to see you guys in the boro in a couple of weeks
  10. this may be wrong but from what i remember from mj--clark, hudson, gibson, mcfarlin central--gassie, williams, maybe 1 more but dont remember hendersonville--last name strat with an h maybe holfstetter or something? smyrna-peck and oliver i think her name was and some girl from gallation whose name i didnt catch
  11. WC Dogg--thank ya for proving my point--i'm well aware of lavergne beating them twice, but a third time. Beating ANY team 3 times is tough, much less one with central's talent
  12. good to hear bigchief---not only cleaning up but working at the car wash As for mailman, your right, not a lot of history behind mj boys basketball and your right, the girls have proven thier dominance and should be the talk of the school, city, and even county for that matter. You just made a comment that was not correct and i caught ya on it. I've been around the mj program and never heard of any fans not being pleased with him......so i would like to know where this comment comes from
  13. I hate to say it being from MJ, but gotta go with central and beech. I dont think lavergne is there yet. Saw them play a couple of times and was never really impressed. Good squad but dont think they have what it takes to snip central
  14. Mailman--your an idiot--Coach Deering was run off, and i mean run off. He got a raw deal and wasnt treated fairly. Cutlip left the school. He's from that area of the state and wanted to go back home to coach. So no, MJ has run off one coach......get facts straight. As for the guy who posted from Science Hill, Cutlip worked out great for us. I was fortunate enough to play for him my senior year and loved the way he conducted things. Rules, appearance, work ethic, everything. Thouroughly enjoyed his system and the way he conducted the game. After a 5-16 year with Deering, which really had nothing to do with his coaching as much as a lack of experience(the year he came in we had 1 guy coming back who had playing time and lost 8 seniors), Cutlip got us to a 16-16 record with a win in the district tourney over #2 seed Lavergne, and a district runner-up. Cutlip did a great job and i hope he makes his way to the boro here soon
  15. Might i add....the grammar usage in the last two posts was phenomenal
