  1. Size isn't the only factor that should be considered. This year Union county had to drive 3 hours to Unicoi County. The gym is very nice, but the distance is so bad that no fans can come and you get home at 1:30 on a school night and potentially have to go again the next night. A neutral, central place with a large enough gym would make more sense. And the gyms definitely need to be big enough.
  2. When did Lindholm leave, I thought he was just a junior?
  3. How are the other teams in the tournament doing and what players are playing well? Also who won the championship?
  4. I was wondering if anyone has any information on the tournament. If possible i would like to see the schedule and who won. Someone tell us who's hoopin'.
  5. Hoosiers20, you must have a chip on your shoulder against Union Co. to still be worrying about the W. Greene game. I won't dignify your post by arguing that worn out point again. And by now the S. Greene topic is old too (though still a sore spot). Unfortunately, the UC season ended tonight in the regionals with a 58-54 loss to a good Sullivan Central team. Got behind early and couldn't get it back in spite of a rally in the 4th.
  6. There's a ref who should be barred from anything but junior pro. The one who decided a tournament game at the buzzer by calling a foul on a 3 when the player falls forward as he shoots. I personally know of 4 coaches from other schools who saw the game and 2 off duty refs who saw the call and said it was unquestionably bogus. It was .THE WORST. Is there a mechanism for complaint for a call THAT BAD? There are bad calls and bad calls, but I've always been told that a ref should not decide a game when the situation is like this one. There was NO foul. UC had was up 10 points at the beginning of the quarter. Why does a ref take the game away? (I don't habitually complain about reffing)
  7. Whoever started this really doesn't know what he is talking about. Posting a lie is a "classless" thing to do. UC's starters played 2 quarters. Look at the books! The 2 high scorers might have had 40 points apiece if they had stayed in the game, but the coach took them all out as he shoud have. UC had 59 points at the half. West Greene turned the ball over a lot and UC took advantage of it. The bench scored most of the rest of the points. Again, look at the books. As for the 2 seniors who played in the 4th, it was the 1st game of the season for one and he did not play in the 1st half. The other just started playing on the team this year and probably played a total of 2 quarters last night. Is it all right for the coach to let them get more game experience? The football comments are irrelevant to this discussion. UC's bballplayers and coaching staff are trying to put together a good season after changing coaches for 3 straight years. I don't know why anyone wants to make things up. but I guess it's your problem. I DO think that if you want to find fault, you should talk about something that really happened. Please look at WG's record. They are struggling this year. All of their games' scores look the same. UC made no great effort to reach 100. It just happened. A closer game would have been more fun. It is incredible how often posts on this site are like this. It would be a lot better if everyone would only talk about what they know about. Way too much gets said that's not based on fact. That's why I usually ignore it and I guess I should now.
  8. I agree that Gomab isn't getting it right. I know several who haven't started for school or aau. Some of his picks have been from an obvious lack of knowledge. In fact it's sometimes impossible to figure out where his information comes from.
  9. The Zags went to Marietta and won a tournament april 4-6. there were 12 teams in the 16 and under. The Atlanta Celtics, Marietta Heat, Georgia Swoosh, the Wolfpack from K-town, and some others. What are some other results for 16 and under teams?
