  1. What does Farragut, Bearden , and HVA look like this season Could any of them compete with WB,or Maryville for the District title
  2. Catholic by 15 plus. With CAK's major upset of Fulton eliminated any team in east tn that even had a remote chance of beating the mighty Irish. Irish B ball will take some of the sting out of the of the disappointing end to the football season by bringing home the gold ball.
  3. Time has come for all District , region, and sub state games should be played at the gym of the higher seed. The old system of a central site no longer draws the crowds it once did. Just saying. Crazy that two Clarksville schools have to go to Lebanon to play a game. Crowd killer. And from the stand point of the money hungry T$$AA and loss of $$$!
  4. No Need to debate agree to disagree. What we can agree on is this. While Fulton was hoisting the gold ball in the Boro last year the wildcats were playing baseball or in spring break in Fla. just saying.
  5. All though I wasn't at the game I did listen on radio. When OR had their "JV" in Fulton didn't have a starter in the game when it was cut to 10 on the ft that were a result of technical. At that time radio announcer recapped line up and Fulton had 3 soph 1 freshman and a sr non starter in the game. Give the Falcons credit for making OR a little uncomfortable at the end. Don't think OR has a realistic chance to we state. Gotta win district and region first as Sweet Science said. Remember talk last year about winning the state and got beat in sub state. Will the cats win the District: for sure. Will they win Region most likely. Sub State maybe. History says no as they choked last two years. State get there and a 12.5 percent chance.
  6. Agree. They are a good A team but they can't match up with the length and athleticism of the Wildcats. No one in this area can challenge the Cats.
  7. Nothing to gain playing an "A" school win or lose. But I would say OR backing out saved Grace the embarrassment of a major beat down. Just saying.
  8. OR in my opinion would win by 10 plus. But hey they are the premier high school program east of Nashville. They just reload every year and keep on rolling. Catholic on the other hand is a solid AA program that has that one great team of the decade. After this year they will be good but will not approach the greatness of this team. Will not be a good year to move up to AAA.
  9. Saw Catholic just demolish Bearden earlier in the year. They have all the parts. Athletes, size, skill, shooters the list goes on. If Catholic doesn't make a run fir the state title. It will be the second major disappointment for Irish athletics this year. Would be a good game no doubt. Certainly make a lot of money.
  10. AA will not happen due to the fact you have no teams from region 1&2. At least 2 of the 8 will come from east tn It also appears you only have 1 team from region 1 and 2 in single A. Just saying.
  11. Plenty of film on these kids. Exposure camps all summer. TSSAA should require post season all star camps to be complete prior to January 1. Any participation after that would make player eneligible for other sports. Probably not a good solution. Just can't stand the brain washing that coaches, trainers, etc do with this kids. If you play only football, go to summer camps, play passing league, go to an all star game you will get a scholarship. To me it just seems like a lot of adults are misleading kids. And steal their teenage years by making promises they can't keep. I have heard too many coaches tell young men. "If you play another sport you will get behind in football. You have to focus on football only if you want a scholarship". Which we know is a lie as the majority of College athletes played multiple sports. Sorry bout a rant from an old man. Just miss the days when the best athletes in school were given the opportunity and joy of playing multiple sports in high school without pushy over zealous coaches pressuring kids to play football only.
  12. IMO. Coaches should be professional educators and have teaching credentials. Especially head coaches. I am sure the individual you are speaking of is a good enough coach. But Knox County School doesn't need to go down the road of hiring non professionals as head coaches.
