Kids from all over Chattanooga can go to Tyner and CSAS as well. They are magnet schools. (along with some others) Signal will have to take some kids from low performing schools. Not sure how it works but I bet a majority of them will be good athletes. Usually works that way.

wonder if it was tongue and cheek. Never been to the state tournament, yet your speaking of it's tradition? Should be a great game and tournament. Bucs have a very good chance of winning. Both teams have similar schedules as far as the level of team they have been playing. Not many state ranked teams. Congrates to Boyd on a state tournament trip. They will bring the buses. Not sure where they will sit since there is no seating at the games. I guess just surround the field.

actually there schedule is somewhat weak but it doesn't seem to have effected them in the post-season. They have played very well in the last two weeks and showed they can play with the big dogs. I would say they have a very good chance in their first game this week. My guess is their schedule will look a lot different next year. I will say, they play in a big district that has some traditionally weak teams so they have a lot of games they have to play because they are district games. My guess is they begin to beef up their schedule in the coming years.

brackets seem pretty good... in my opinion. Think we may see an all knoxville final.

they won't set the quarterfinals until after the sectionals this weekend. They stopped putting this information out because they thought some teams were losing in the region finals to set themselves up on a better side of the bracket.

so is the JPII vs McCallie game an elimination game. do only the top three teams go to substate? I think that is what I read on TSSAA. Five from the west and three from the middle/east.

David Brainerd was in DII when they started the school. They realized it was a mistake and moved to DI. Don't see them going back. Too many football trips to Memphis.

The division II soccer teams will be play two games in less than 24 hours. This just doesn't seem right in the state tournament. A single A team could play at 6:30 p.m on Thursday then turn around and play their state championship game at noon on Friday. This just doesn't seem right. Why don't they play it later in the day. I can understand a team doing this in the regular season. Some teams play twice in one day but this is the state championship. TSSAA can do better than this. All the schedules are now posted on the TSSAA website. I think everything else is the same.

it would really surprise me if Baylor scores more than two goals. They haven't been scoring much even in the lesser games but you never know with Baylor. They are a very strong team.

game could have been 4-2 CCS if everyone capitalized on their big chances. Notre Dame battled hard and had some good counter attacks. Should see two more meetings between the two and both in Murfreesboro. Then it all depends on the draw. Gotta stay away from CAK and Knox Catholic.

not sure but I am sure they have a tie breaker. If Baylor and McCallie both win, there will likely be a goal differential or something like that, then go to a list of tie breakers. Webb could through a wrench in it and beat one of them. (creating a three way tie which could be real interesting) Maybe they could compare SAT/ACT scores or have a field goal kicking contest at a neutral site.
