  1. I'm in Murfreesboro often and agree that the paper does a wonderful job reporting on baseball. Daily they have 1/4 to a 1/2 page on High School Baseball. I've lived in Knoxville for almost 30 years now, and without doubt, they do not do a very good job at all in covering baseball. Towards the end of the season, and during tournament play the News Sentinel will spring to life and start to publish a few articles. On the other hand, the Farragut Press Enterprise does a bang up job on reporting baseball news for the West side of Knoxville.
  2. Yes we do. Who cares about soddy daisy? this is a farragut thread, your post was totally irrelevant.
  3. Obviously, Nashville would have made the most sense. Center of the state, easy travel for any and all schools involved. So that obviously explains why an organization that is beauracratic and government-like in nature would choose the most illogical option. Cubbyhole the entire Spring Fling in the farthest corner of the state for the next 5 years so it's as far away as possible for everyone except those in the Memphis area. A city farther away could not have been chosen for any teams from the East Tn (Johnson City,Kingsport) area, the Knoxville area, the Chattanooga area or the Nashville area. Let's hear it for the almighty dollar over logical, common sense. Maybe after the next 5 years are up TSSAA will actually decide to move it out of state.
  4. West Knoxville is a very transient part of Knoxville. People are constantly moving in and out from other portions of Knoxville as well as from other cities and states. In many neighborhoods in West Knoxville (Farragut) the average length of stay for a homeowner is about 4 years before they either move to a different city entirely or another neighborhood within West Knoxville or surrounding area. Therefore, when you have parents moving in and out, you also get the highschool kids that move in and out with them. What up pjwoody?
  5. The Chattanooga Colonels are a good, honest baseball organization. I have no affiliation with them, other than the fact the team my son plays on has played them several times over the past 3 or 4 years. Actually, we just played their 17 year old team twice this past week. I know several of the young men on their 17 years old team, and they are fine, quality, individuals as well as being gifted and talented baseball players. I also know a couple of the coaches in their organization and they would take no pleasure in putting a group of older kids against a group of younger kids. It serves no purpose whatsoever. Coaches who are truly wanting the best for their team and the individuals on that team are constantly searching for teams that are better than they are in order to push the kids to the extreme for their own benefit and growth as a player.

  7. You may be thinking of the Worth Showcase which is held at MTSU June 13 - 15. I believe the tryouts in each district/region have already been held. You may want to check with you high school coach about it for more information.
