  1. Well, I'm assuming chs4life is not talking about the results for DII......what did Bumbi run? What was Alan Knox's time, anyways?......And, I am wondering the same thing as WesVols.....any live updates anywhere?
  2. Actually Kenwood, i don't mean to sound anal, but it was a 7:53.....I was hoping that would make it sound more impressive than it already is. Just wanted to be correct, ya know? But yes, Kenwood is right. Whats all this talk about these Siegel people? I wouldnt be too surprised if BA's team goes sub- 8:00 even without Bumbalough.
  3. Ya, I want to add that not only was it awesome that Andrew ran an 8:49, I want ya'll to look at the type of race he ran: SMART.....I think this is one of Andrew's biggest assets and talents. Yes, he has amazing ability, but just look at how he ran this race. He didnt make his move until late in the race. He kept himself in contact with the leaders, and saved himself for what he knew would have to be a big finish to beat out Kiptoo. He ran smart, and maybe we can all learn from the way he deals with races from a mental standpoint.
  4. Can someone tell me when and where state is this year? I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

    Clinic Bowl

OK, lets face it. Whats happening here is just normal rivalry crap. Folks, lets settle down and put all this stuff behind us. I went to BA, and frankly, this "classy this, classy that" stuff from both sides is getting sick and repetitive. I was not at the game, so I cannot comment on that, but it sounds like MBA just gave us an old fashioned- whipping. I dislike MBA just as much as anybody at BA, but, seriously, the only thing we can talk about right now is the game, because this "classy" stuff is never gonna get resolved. I'm sick of it....and I'm talkin to BA AND MBA people. So what do ya'll say to putting this one in the history books and moving on, eh? Congrats to both teams on great seasons, and good luck next year.

    Bumbi

Andrew Bumbalough is awesome. He is working on establishing himself as one of the best runners in the country. Not state, but country. After his performance at Great American, and now missing the state record by 3 seconds, I hope people give him the respects he deserves. Great Job, Andrew!
  7. C'mon guys and girls-- Running needs a little more support than this. Cheerleading's not even a real sport...... XC is so much tougher, and we can't even talk about how we are doing? What about a little bit of trash talk (not too much so CoachT don't get mad) but what's goin on here? Last year, people were all over this board....... I want SOMETHING to happen........PLEASE
  8. Andrew's very, very good..... But lets not jump to conclusions. I have full faith that Andrew can win two more state xc championships, however, the first one was definitely not "easy" and if he goes on to win two more, there will always be someone(s) trying to knock off the champion. Thats what always happens, and always will. So don't assume anything in xc. The past two years have provided for very exciting finishes, not just individually, but team- wise as well.

    BA Game Today

Ok folks, i got a couple of things to say here. First off, need anyone be reminded who the current state champs in softball are-- oh thats right, BA. Ok, next, I can understand a little trash talk, thats acceptable, ive done it before, we all have, its in a high schooler's nature. However, I will say it has gotten out of hand. People, lets calm down, and let this stuff play out on the field, can we? If you lose, you lose, and say, hey "we'll get 'em next time"-- But lets not gloat too much over your victories, 'cause all that matters is who's still standing at the end of the year. If you win, why can't you just be like "such-and such team played hard, good luck to them next game" Folks, lets clean up our acts. [Edited by caeagle16 on 4-30-03 8:32P]
  10. I am wondering why there is not many guys BA distance runners on the list? (I know nothing can be done now) But c'mon, they have proven themselves against many good teams this year, and Bumbi is the most dominant distance runner in the middle region. Any answers?
  11. OK, first off, the Tennessean needs to get its facts straight with that relay misinformation. Next, that harpeth hall girl needs to realize the competition she IS up against. HH lost by 5 POINTS!!! Hey, i thought 5 points was barely a win where I come from, but I guess its a blowout for them. Am I the only one who feels that way? Next, I have some serious issues with Coach Pruitt. I ran XC, and at meets where BA and MBA competed against each other, he was the biggest jerk off ever. Here's just a few examples. At one meet, Pruitt (MBA was hosting the event) claimed that he had designed a whole new course just for his meet (at Highway 100). However, COACH HARPER had designed that course the year before, and Pruitt claimed it as his own, when MBA had run at the meet the year before at which Harper had designed the new course. Next, as a runner, you people should hear what Pruitt yells at his runners in relation to BA runners. It is despicable. Not only does it make him look like a fool, it embarrasses other runners. Instead of encouragement to try and get his athletes to perform better, he uses threats and derrogatory comments towards other runners. Some of the stuff he says should not be repeated on this board. I seriously doubt that Pruitt was missquoted. No offense to MBA athletes, but MBA needs to consider its stance on Pruitt. Either explain to him that he needs to conduct himself with a little more dignity and respect for others, or consider a new coach. Unfortunately, he is an embarrasment to MBA. What happened to the days of "Hey they were a better team than us today. We'll try and get 'em next time." And I agree with Kenwoodrun about Bumbi's superstitious undies-- man, i wish there were more of those around-- oh wait, his nuts are bigger than Pruitt's and everybody else that he dusted at the meet, so he probably can't fit in to underwear, just running shorts like a REAL runner [Edited by caeagle16 on 4-14-03 5:30P]
  12. Houstonsdead, is there any particular reason you made your post completely in french?
  13. As soon as anyone has results from the chattanooga meet, please post them here (preferably DII, but it doesn't really matter) Everyone is interested in how their teams fared. Thanks
  14. I would like to put my vote in for BA. Like Brandon100 said, they have an awesome record. However, not only is it that, but they have the superfans. No matter how cold or hot, their senior guys are shirtless with letters painted on their chests. The opposing teams sideline is so close to their stands that players are constantly heckled by BA fans. They have amazingly loud air horns, megaphones, and voices that, many times, cause the opposing team to false start. Its loud, crazy, with crazy fans, and no matter what the weather, freezing with rain, snow, whatever, those senior superfans will always be there for years to come.
  15. Pete Compton is the most incredible pitcher ever. He's come back from shoulder surgery-- decide to not play basketball- and stick it out for baseball. Thats dedication. GO PETE
