  1. I have eaten there and it was a good spot.
  2. I used to think like that many many moons ago. I wondered the same questions but learned that it is just not that easy. Hiring assistant coaches can be complicated at times. It takes a few years for HC’s to get who they feel is right for their system. Couple that with good assistant coaches getting better jobs at times and leaving your program. More to it than some think. I think you have a good coach up there and time will tell that story.
  3. What does that have to do with his demands?
  4. Not if you do not have proper funding. Plus why would someone come on board for less than full time teacher pay? Most of these moves happen in the offseason anyway.
  5. He interviewed for the Gallatin position and his demands were so unrealistic they laughed him out of the building.
  6. If you have tenured teachers, you cannot just remove them to make a spot for a coach. Most of those type moves happen in the offseason over the summer anyway. If said coach cannot teach say a math or history open teaching spot and is only good for physical education then a person in that spot has to move out or your said coach doesn’t get that spot. Usually how it works.
  7. Wow!! That came out of left field!
  8. At Hendersonville week 1 but Gallatin has 6 home games this year.
  9. Gallatin (6A) vs Hendersonville (5A) week 1. This is a longtime rivalry and the crowd is always large. Last year Hendersonville returned their exciting QB, Mason Baker, and handed first year coach Michael Stroup his first loss at Gallatin. This year 2nd year starter and season record holder in passing Jackson Stroup will come to Hendersonville eager to repay the favor. This is a huge Sumner Co rivalry.
  10. Sumner: Gallatin, Hendersonville, Beech, Portland, White House
  11. I would be for that if you cut out the financial aid and the recruiting. Your right won’t happen
  12. Congratulations to Tee. He was an awesome player. He won Mr Football his senior year ahead of Gallatin’s Jordan Mason whom was runner-up. Mason just finished his second year for the 49ers and Higgins gets a lucrative franchise tag. I’d say both have done their communities well!
  13. Your opinion. I get tired of the one he is talking about.
  14. Gallatin has a complete rebuild on defense and a few returning on offense. Not sure about Franklin
  15. Gallatin vs Franklin, not sure of the date but it’s in May
  16. I think that would be a lot of fun!
  17. The amount of shoving this under the rug up here is ridiculous. At least now they realize as do the tax payers how bad it was/is!
  18. It has nothing to do with supply chain issues. The BoE was going to use a Cooperative for fast tracking the stadium builds but the State Comptroller ruled against Williamson Co in Dec when they produced a finding on an audit. Honestly, it is pretty point blank on the T.C.A. Rules and why they were going this route seems like they were given bad information. It has caused a huge distrust between the County Commission and the School Board only to get wider.
  19. They plan on bringing in portables again for this season and nobody is getting turf.
  20. According to the Director of Schools, because of a ruling by the state comptroller in Dec, you cannot use a co-op and thus the steel to build them will not be available this season. They intend to have all games played at home as scheduled but with temporary bleachers again. The stadiums that were affected have already been demolished.
  21. #6 got that backside handed to them by Gallatin! #7 got that one dimensional team with 3 1000 yard rushers beat by Gallatin! And for the record in 92’ they were not beating that same Gallatin team, period!!
  22. Gary had some nice comments about him. Short was the standard bearer when Rankin was starting out. Many had hoped Gallatin would have been one of Rankin’s stopping points along the way but it never happened.
  23. This is tough news for me personally. Calvin was a legend in this town. He was always nice and willing to talk. He guided and raised so many young men in his career. He was feared by his opponents and respected throughout the southeast. Off the field, he was as nice as could be. I could be wrong but I believe he was 205-30 for his tenure at Gallatin. 3 state titles and 3 runner-ups. He will be missed!! Thank you Calvin Short for everything you did for the high school and this town. Prayers for his wife, kids and grandkids.
