The fans who didn't want Stevens to get the job are the ones bashing the man. Win or lose they will always oppose him. Sure the team took a beaten Friday, the team is young and learned that the hard way.

If OR would have settled. They would have hired a no-name. Stevens is the coach, Rakin is at ALCOA. Why didn't they go after Rakin when Gaddis left? Every fan has doubts, even last year there were doubts not only about the coaches but also about some of the players! Just depends on who you asks. I believe the CATS will it turnaround.

What's going here on this site is public opinion. From what I read on this site it seems as though he was strung along. When the first guy turned the job down it should have been Stevens. I thought OR doesn't contact coaches, and if Gaddis didn't apply who contacted who?

The committee knew they did not want Stevens as the new head coach from the beginning of the process. If Gaddis is the man then he was strung along the whole time.

This situation is beyond out of control. The whole process for finding a new coach has failed. The same people who want Gaddis back are the same people who were running him away a few years ago. There is no reason Stevens should not get the job; people with hidden agendas have driven this process to keep him from getting this job. There seems to be too many people who know everything about what's going on in the process. For a hometown guy and a head coach who has proven himself he is not getting treated with respect.

Without a doubt Stevens is the answer.

It is going to be interesting to see who they choose now. Before it gets embarrasing the committee should step up and name Stevens as coach. There is no need to drag it out; move on to your next choice, which should be Stevens. He has a proven record and managed to build a solid program since taking over @ A-E.
